    This video is 3 years old as I just find it. Looks great! What year is your Landy?
    I recently purchased a 1966 S2A 88”. It was still in daily use on a cattle ranch in central California.
    I drove it the 85 miles home. It runs and drives great, and is mostly original and virtually rust free but could use some TLC.
    I will be enjoying your videos as I take on my own project.
    Cheers.

    That is the cleanest gearbox I have ever seen on a series truck and the bodywork looks to be in great condition too. Quite a find, great job.

    Great to see the Series 2 coming on. I repainted my 90 this summer with paintman paint, great product but I did find it took quite a few weeks to go really hard. I abandoned the roller and brush off technique as I found I got a better finish with a really good quality single brush. Very pleased with the results.

      yea i've done quite a bit now without the roller! still brushing off though!

      @@TheRetroSeries2a Yes before re-loading the brush I go over the area I have just done and brush off. Very pleased with the finish.

    I have found it very useful to squirt a bit of penetrating oil on nuts and bolts the day before removal on my landy, you are lucky most of your bolts dont seem to rusty !

      @TheRetroSeries2a  4 года назад

      yea im lucky this old landy has all been apart a few years ago so most nuts and bolts have been easy! good tip on the penetrating oil!!

      Yep, worth finding proper penetrating oil - most people just use WD40, but it's nowhere near as good, and most autofactors stock the right stuff.

    Great video just subbed. Currently working on my S3 and next job is to get the seatbox out, seatbelt brackets have completed corroded into the seatbox panels and are being a right pain. PS: very jealous of the complete swing out doors

      cheers mate, yea the doors are handy. I didn't realise the series 3 didn't do that!

    I don’t know about the SII, but the nuts you are struggling with at 5mins on SIIIs are caged nuts that clip into square apertures on the upright bracket at the rear of the sill. They do pop out sometimes, and if the thread is corroded, the cage will not hold them in place, so fabricating a sturdier captive nut system would be useful.

      yea i got it in the end!! i went easy route and bought new bracket lol

    Awesome job!! Just like new!! Are those spring seats or foam cushions?

    • @TheRetroSeries2a
      @TheRetroSeries2a  3 года назад

      yea looks better yea! I'm pretty sure they are just foam seats!

      Standard is just foam.

    Every seatbox I have removed has been a nasty job. Those 7/16 set screws corrode over time and then where the seatbox is fitted to the sills is also bad to do. That being said, your looks easy compared to ex farm Land Rover's!
