Jerome is a legend. We have massive respect for him here in South Africa.
Nz's Andre Venter, guys a legend.
@@cliffcarelse7006 Andre Venter, absolute legend.
Looks very humble too.
Who ?? Never heard of her 🤔
@@nicgeld MOST All Blacks are humble you will find.
As a South African.... Thank you for the memories NZ. We will never forget. ❤️
Nothing better in this world than watching SA vers NZ. Springboks have the ultimate respect for the All Blacks, they are the gold standard in every respect. Jerome Kaino is a legend and such a nice guy.
Respect to Jerome Kaino. What a fantastic player. My blood runs green, but I love and respect All Black rugby and Jerome was one of their best.
Schalk burger has got massive respect in New Zealand a true warrior never gave in always wore his heart on his shirt oh yeah jeromes awesome to🖒🖒👌👌👍👍
A true great of the game. Burger had it all, as tough as they come. Huge respect from NZ.
If Burger was a springbok caught in the headlights he'd tackle the driver through the windscreen.
lol classic
😂😂😂😂
And Juan smith if anyone remembered him. A bit like Peter Steph du toit with more grunt
I just wet myself. Chirp of the frikkin comment section pal!!
Jacques Burger?
Kaino is an absolute legend, one of the most underrated players ever. Massive hitter and powerful ball carrier
Underrated by who? Arguably the player of the tournament in the 2011 RWC. Back to back world champion and a hell of a player. One of the greats.
@@thehappysmiler6752 his reference aiming towards the fact that Kaino should be talked about alot more. When talking great 6s everyone tends to look past this beast.
@@MTT-ic3ci Really? Most Kiwis will list him as one of the best blindside flankers if not the best.
@@salan3507 yeah because they understand but you know how is in Europe praise our flankers so highly.
@@thehappysmiler6752 I think this highlights exactly how he was underrated - he was by far the best player in rugby in 2011 and wasn’t selected as player of the year.
**Massive respect** for the Boks! Cheers from New Zealand!
What a player. As a South African, Kaino has always been one of my all time favourite loose forwards.
Yep... and Jerry Collins.
@@jaspervanderwesthuizen3485 Yep, RIP JC.
I think when you look at the injuries that Schalk Burger came back from, and the intensity he played with, from the first minute to the very end, there’s no one that comes close to him. When he was on the field, it was like having two players in one, so the opposing team felt like they were playing against 16 men. The best part about Schalk is that off the field, he’s humble and extremely down to earth.
Jerome Kaino was a phenomenal rugby player, and for that reason, Springbok fans all over South Africa have the greatest of respect for him. And the same goes to all those other All Black legends! There is NO SUCH THING as a weak All Black team.
Schalk Hulk Burger
Jerome, you are a legend. We have great respect for you and your team mates in South Africa. You guys make rugby great and exciting.
Watched an interview with Burger himself saying that he hated the gym. Could only bench 60-80 kilos and yet he was an absolute beast. Rugby is about mindset!
Maybe he had dodgy shoulders and didn't want to risk an injury maybe
@Jan Niemandt ons noem dit boerekrag
love how these guys respect their opponents. Gentlemen of quality
Some players have to hate their opponents to get an edge (and that’s fine) but NZ and SA players tend to give it all on the field and are capable of talking to, and respecting each other once the game is over. That is why I love rugby so much. Go ABs!!!
3 great All Blacks in one month saying Schalk was the toughest. Can there be a bigger compliment ?
Juan Smith, Heinrich Brüssow??
@@francoiswilliams they were good, but they were nowhere as hard as SB
@@meta4282 WTF...Free Staters are waaaay tougher dude...Ruben Kruger, Andre venter, Juan Smith, Rassie Erasmus, Brussouw...the list goes on...SB is nowhere...
@@francoiswilliams it's not about what you think based on what you see on the TV screen. It's about what the players that actually play think.
@@samgreer8274 😅🤣😂😅🤣😂, a couch muppets opinion v 2 time WC winners opinion
Hate that Burger plays like possessed
demon flying into the ruck like he's superman... i can say this both players are beast on the field and humble brothers off. Respect from NZL👍👍
Jerome was an Absolute Tank for the ABs and the blues, one of my fav in NZ... you are a legend mate and you have my respect and adoration as a rugby fan 🙏🙌
Jake White said Francois Steyn was the only player that never showed stress before a game and Schalk was "definitely the toughest".
As a kid growing up in NZ, an All Black win against the Springboks in South Africa were the most satisfying ones.
Too early in the moring though
Jerome was exactly the sort of player that the ABs needed to be competitive in SA. It's a testimony to him as a player that no one has really made the AB no 6(no 7 in SA) jersey their own since Kaino retired from international rugby in 2017. Who can forget the wonderful clashes Schalk burger had first with Jerry Collins and then Kaino. NZ generally had the edge over SA in the period Burger played for the Boks but whatever the scoreline Burger was a human wrecking ball. Great player and tremendous individual who is highly respected in NZ.
NZ had the edge mostly due to Richie...
Kaino was the perfect 6 to McCaw’s 7. What an absolute legend of the game.
Jerome is one of those greats we are really missing right now.
Yeah, miss Kaino big time
Jorome Kaino is in my all time dream team at 7 alongside 6Pocock,8Veermeulen and 20Savea
Think you got your 6 and 7 mixed up there
@@davidjones272 im a south african
David Jones number 7 is blindside in SA and France
What a player, All Blacks legend!!!.
My favourite former allblack!! As hard as they come
Fully agree with that about Schalk, you never ever saw that man jogging or half heartedly running, full pace from 0min to 80min every time -, whether he had the ball or not, but with the ball in hand you knew he was going to be through players at full speed. His blonde hair gave him away many times in rucks though :). Absolute legend and one of my all time favourite Rugby players
Was always a joy to watch him play. Especially against us Safas. Epic battles against our guys
Great man glad to see u respect us Jerome. His brother Bruce and I are good mates.
I know his other Ham...
I love kaino. But the no 6 he replaced Jerry Collins was a truly brutal enforcer
Collins couldn't pass for shit though and lacked vision.
@@cascade3769 but is passing at a 6 as important than the defense . Remember the brutal people at the 6 during that time lol but kaino was more well rounded
Im a South African and bok crazy but i respect nz rugby.. Other teams though not so much 😂
New Zealand will always be a benchmark, in world rugby. All-out rugby.
Schalk before his neck injury... from a different planet. Immense motor and tenacity..
We as South Africans love the All Blacks and that is the best game to play
Hi Schalk Burger what an absolute tough rugby player. His not scared to run with the ball and hard tackle with the ball. I always afmired him. One of the best rugby players. Thank you Schalk Burger for your great contribution to South African Rugby, always enjoy watching you. Such a good humble player. Wish you the very best. Rholda Bester. South Africa District 6
Great stuff as always.
😂🤣😂 Schalk didn't push weights still at Saracens...but them hits were felt ey.
Legend
Jerome Kaino, Brad thorn, Richie Mccaw were the most formidable forward in the All blacks
...and Jerry Collins
Take it back a generation or 2, zinzan brooke, michael jones and buck shelford in their era I'd say were as formidable, peobably moreso
I remember Schalls first game in the wc and I could see immediately this guy will be a legend, at provincial level he was ok but put a bok jersey on him and he wouldnt hold back. Great player and had the matching DNA.
Schalk wasn't big on lifting weights, supplements etc. I believe he called them Tupperware muscles 💪
Everything about All Black rugby over the past 25 years, has been remarkable. But it’s their loose-forward play/players that have proven to be in a league of their own and, in my opinion, sets them apart from the rest. Their ability to understand loose-fwd play (rules at the breakdowns/tackle, combinations, go-fwd drive, clean up, ball retention and recycling, fwds/backs/fwds linking, turnover, channels, adaptability, etc.), are unrivalled.
As a Saffer, I find it interesting that the NZ mentality to enforcer is that it's a comedy nickname. Like you got it just for doing your job right (hitting tackles and rucks hard, getting over the gainline).
In SA you get that label and you have to be rough, 'scary', inevitably have to injure someone, probably be carded.
Was a fan of Bakkies, one of the best locks ever, but I certainly prefer Kaino's mentality.
Much respeck for jerome.. Sculk probably know how hard you tackle brother.. Love both
Best 6 I've ever seen.....Kaino. Burger, very similar player to Andre Venter, was a hard bastard. Reminds me of a taller Ruben Kruger.....who was just a mobile block of concrete!!
Kaino was good. But not as good as Richard Hill or dusatoir imo. Although they both were 7s playing at 6
Spring Bok game plan same as The Hulk, that is Hulk smash so Spring Bok thinks I'm green too so me smash as well. Bok game plan historically, Step 1. : 8 huge men crush everything then pushover tries, Step 2. Pass ball to Van Du Placsee (or someone similar) to kick Penalty, Drop Goal, or for position if inside own 22 line. Note, all penalties outside own 22 are aimed at goal posts. Step 3. : Pass ball to Winger 1 or 2 who are the fastest humans in South Africa (note, this happens 2 times max. per game).
Yes, it's a famous Bok game plan called "Subdue and penetrate"
Phenomenal rugby player Jerome 👏
HAHA, Schalk our legend. ALWAYS goes head in first.
Burgers dad might have something to do with why he is such a tuffy, dads a hefty bloke with shovels masquerading as hands. Nice family and very courteous and accommodating by the accounts i saw back in the day when he was powering in the Bokkies, and these were from All Blacks who had been welcomed at the Burger compound, Burgerville, by any other name.
A real gentleman of the game
He’s right about Schalk. Burger was like the terminator, no matter what you did to him, he just kept on coming.
Would love to know what he thought of Bakkies Botha, as a South African... i feel he was the hardest Bok of them all.
Schalk Burger, Jacques Burger, both very tough men who share a surname.
Favorite All Black💪
Jerome and Jerry, best 6's ever. Very relieved they have retired 😅
i heard schalk burger wears a size 16 shoe
I’ll ask him 😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂🤣🤣
Thats just how our AB`s legends Roll...and that is why we as a nation LOVE and RESPECT this game so much ... But this really is the NORM and this is truly how our AB`s roll
Schalk was jus that BEAST on the field
Yesssssss Bokke all the way🦌
Schalk burger was a beast!!. His only downfall was the eye gouge against the Lions. Big disappointment there....
Yes a mystery.
Hi Buddy , Why did Southafrica remove them self from the world cup ?
Finance and Politics buddy. Always South Africas downfall
@Bliksem De Boer i'm from basque country and rugby -fan since only" 3-4 years!! My english is not very good... as you can see!!
My favourite team is southafrika!!!
Is so bad the situation??
That "quota sistem"" ?? You are forced to take 50% black and white people or something like that???
I don't know .... because i'm new in rugby... But i like see springboks playing.... And wining!! Jajjaja
Lmao. Burger would try to gouge your eyes and then hand you a beer?
That incident will follow him for the rest of his life, which is unfortunate because it's the only time he ever did something like that. His opponents all respect the fact that he was hard but fair throughout his career.
njabulow You are extremely naive
@@cullyx2913 I'm a South African and Bok supporter, I know what I'm talking about. Schalk was never a dirty player but you're proving my point. Just because of that incident you think he was.
njabulow Schalk is one of my favourite ever players, watched him from day one, loved watching him against the AB’s
@@cullyx2913 Then you should know his disciplinary record speaks for itself. One bad incident doesn't define him.
Exeter Chiefs last week?
Rugby a hooligans game played by real gentlemen.
Burger there was two versions. Pre neck surgery (think blonde mane hate) who was a crazy attack robot and a borderline thug. Post neck surgery was a really great player who was smart and a real all around great player.
There’s only like five rugby teams so it’s probably not hard to answer that question
AGREED.
GUYS HE IS MY UNCLE HIS MUMS NAME IS VELONICA AND HIS DADS NAME IS SA SEE IM HIS NEPHEW
Why do Plate Lunchers play so dirty and Schalk Burger does not? cos they don`t have maids to clean up after them.
🐐 6
Who's the English guy?
The all blacks missed the physicality of this man on the breakdown
And then you get Malcolm Marx, the king of the rolling mauls. And Etzebeth.
Burger a 100 percenter always.
I wanna see the current players and new zealand pundits start respecting springbok just like European. 11:12 final and 4 world cup in their expense is right there to get respect from them. We never lost in final. They must forget about rugby championship , we play there to give player opportunities and increase depth playing intense rugby. New Zealand will win championship every year and we will compete for world cup. The world recognize world cup not championship that's rassie mindset and he is definitely right.
🇿🇦
Is Schalk South African for steak? Just asking
Not to my knowledge
Burger in my opinion was a thug, inexcusable when he eye gouged Luke Fitzgerald when s Africa played the lions, there has been tougher and better players than him in back rows over the years and none of them ever eye gouged anybody.willie O, tutai kefu,Jerry Collins,P.Omahoney to name a few.
The title of the vid makes no sense.
SKALLA
Sad that we or I won't support Springbok rugby anymore in South Africa...
Thierry Dusautoir was better than Burger
..how ?
still think new zealand miss kaino
Hes EX all black..Wasnt too bad either
Coby
Kissing
Buy bitcoin i sharesld a pee with this guy in sandton
Retired Rugby players like this interviewer ALWAYS use 1000 words when a few would do . If Eben Etzebeth had got hold of jm he wouldn't be able to say Enforcer . Jerome on the OTHER Hand is A Former ALL BLACK (All ways A All Black) . Was always GOING to pick AUSTRALIA AND SOUTH AFRICA .
