Very nice and really quite quick but the question is how long will that edge last compared to more refined scratch patterns?

Why didn't you take the chips out of the blade before you did this progression? The clients going to have an uncomfortable shave cause of that. Doesn't make any sense.

Hello and thank you for your important question. You are correct in your thinking about the one chip that I mentioned and referred to in my own observations, that is an issure that would need to be resolved in order to issue a professionally honed razor. That chip image was before the tomonagura slurry stage and I think, or more rightly assume by experience that it as resolved with that second slurry.
With this said I would again suggest that you helpful comment is understandable and I am happy that I could have provided you and hopefully you can appreciate the intense magnification you are viewing with in this video. All of my videos are created with the same magnfication which is about 315x. At this closeness these are not "zoomed" images but actual optical images. I do not have a zoom feature on my microscope, and the zoom that you see is with my video camera zooming on my computer screen.
If you refer to my other videos you will see an image of a average mans single individual beard hair which is between 150 to 200 microns in diameter. The scratch pattern left from the Japanese natural higher razor quality stone is, as an individual scratch, around 1 micro wide and 5 to 10 microns long, and the scratch it self is shallow by comparison to the scratches left from the synthetic stones where the grit particle remains In suto, firmly embedded in the stone and there for leave a long continious scratch on the blade. These Jnat scratchs leave a different footprint on the razors steel and the edge of the edge detail is singular. This pebbly or non-linerer pattern is a desirable feature of the Jnat class of stones, and is one of the elements of the comfortableness that many fellows report about as "the qualtiy of the shave". I can assure you, and I have assured the owner of this blade that this razor will easily and comfortably fall into the smooth, close and comfortable shave realm.
good luck to you and again thank you for your comment.

TheJapanStone hello sir. Are you using the 1k stone dry to set the bevel or wet to set the bevel? Just curious. Stone looks kinda dry so thought I’d ask to see if I was missing something. Also I would like to send you my Ozuku stone I got from Japan to have you test it to see if it is authentic and real and have you match a slurry stone to it which would probably be a Tomo Nagura.
