I know this is an older video but hopefully someone might find my comment helpful. Once expanding foam is 'dry' on the outside you can press it down and shape it. It looks more natural and is easier to deal with. Then just cut the shiny surface off and apply black or brown silicone before sticking your decor/substrate etc to that. If you don't remove the shiny surface of the foam nothing will bond to it. Awesome video :D
If I can give you some tip: instead of styrofoam, you can use XPS board, it's less messy and is available in thicker dimensions, I personally using 1cm (maximum 2cm) thick boards and working well also in small enclosures.
Du nämner att du är på väg till Landskrona och en reptilbutik. Jag tror inte att du sa vad butiken heter och jag ska ner till Skåne om någon vecka. Har du koll på vad butiken heter? 🪱🪳
@@terraquaman Tusen tack! Jag ska försöka klämma in Reptopia under mitt skånebesök. Jag har blivit medlem i din kanal. Du har jättebra och intressanta filmer. Lycka till!
Tell you what u can tell ur kinda an amateur and I can't wait to see your progress and some tips for u can carve the foam and put silicone them substrate and turns out better and you have more control what it looks like

Thank you so much 😊
Thank you, great build, beautiful snake👍
Thank you very much 😁
Great video! also I've seen some creators let then foam cure first then carve it and stick the substrate on with silicon.
Thanks ! Yeah I’ve seen that too next time I’ll try it 😀
I like the contrast between the tiny kitchen knife perhaps not up to the task then next up giant machete. Is head bobbing universal lizard language?
Haha 😆 yeah it’s a way of showing dominance I think 😀

That’s a great tip will definitely use that next time 😀
How did you secure the drainage layer and snake proof it?
I filled in the gaps with leftover pieces of expanding foam, moss and rocks.
Would have been good to see what you did to stop Pamela from getting into the drainage layer. Otherwise awesome
Yes, I messed up the footage of that. I simply placed rocks and leftover pieces of foam in the edges. Thanks !
One animal I think you should look after for a day you can not get them as pets but maybe in a zoo or somewhere, a panda
Yes that would be cool 😆

Yeah I’ve seen people do that. I just don’t like the smell of silicone haha but next time I’ll give it a go 😀
@@terraquaman makes sense it burns my nose and I've made a few backgrounds and they don't look the best but they work love you videos BTW
Lizard 🦎 side eye
How big is Pam?
I haven’t measured her. But about 1 meter I would say 😊
Maybe Jesus reacted to the foam fumes.
You're very handsome! Where are you from?
Thanks ! Sweden but my parents are italian.
