What I learned from this is that the mixtapes and highlight reels don't mean jack really. Because if you see all these guys, they either didn't even make the league, or they went to lower tier colleges with no interest from the major schools, which is something you'd expect from these guys. Skal would have had a much better college career if Dakari Johnson would have returned to UK for the 2015-16 season, which would have allowed Skal to play the 4. With Tyler Ullis, Jamal Murray, and Isaiah Briscoe in the backcourt, he would have been a difficult matchup and would have flourished.
"Nyquel Alexander is built for football" Did you mean he's built for an early exit from life? That man is morbidly obese. The "morbidly" part of that term quite literally means "so massively overweight that you will die from it". How can someone possibly get to be that grossly overweight in HIGH SCHOOL?!?! I don't know if there's been an update on this video, but I don't think any future updates will be good news for Nyquel. Great job on this video...... While there were some injury situations & there's always the kids that can't get out of the way of bad habits, bad role models & bad upbringing, I can't help but think the vast majority of these talented kids professional (NBA) potential suffered because of how our culture has shifted. Between the lure of ridiculous NBA money, social media making these kids stars & stardom (instead of humility) in general being promoted, the AAU's impact, the social media effect & just the general need for instant gratification.....had a lot of these kids stayed at 1 school, kept their heads down & dug in, another level of discipline, maturity & focus would have set in & these young dudes careers & personal lives would have benefitted from a more consistent & stable foundation.
I watched countless of these prospects who were able to amaze the average basketball fan... all the same: they are flashy, they have potentials but they no fundamentals. A very good prospect needs to have solid fundamentals and not only explosive atheleticism...
