Hello from Arizona... I twice had the amazing privilege of spending some weeks exploring the South Island after working at the South Pole research station.... I can honestly say that New Zealand has the most hospitable and friendly people of any place I have ever been.... Definitely could teach these ignorant people in the USA a thing or two!!..... Thsnk you so much for sharing your footage... Nothing beats family and freedom.
@Automobile Addict no place is perfect but I certainly don't see New Zealand intentionally cause innocent people to needlessly suffer around the world just to line their despicable levels of greed and power... Also I know exactly how selfish and materialistic most people are in the USA... almost zero moral integrity or concern for their community... I spent about two months traveling the South Island and did not experience the type of issues we are facing here in the states... The corruption is total and absolute in this government... And they are going to bring ALL civilization down if they don't change course drastically and immediately. I wish you health and happiness and pray for a better future for all humanity 🙏
Loved this when I first watched it and loved it even more knowing that time has rolled on from these days. Good days then and still plenty of good days ahead. Cant help but think you could do a whole series on Dan the Man...... salt of the Earth.

I quit drinking cold turkey this weekend 2 years ago. Turned out to be the best 2 years I've had in decades.
Being able to have full focus on life and priorities is awesome.

Stopping drinking can be quite dangerous. If you are really addicted, your body needs alcohol. so the best option is to seek help you if you need it

City slicker here watching this for the first time. This was such a great watch I enjoyed every minute. I just learned how much I don't know about life. I'm a rolly smoker & obviously you know tobacco here in NZ is like gold $72.00 for a 30gm Riverstone FAARK SAKE!. I've had a heap of tobacco seeds for a few months, I also have a few acres land & had planned to dedicate a nice sunny corner to grow some gold, but wasn't quite sure how to cure it properly, I prefer my tbacky straight as it comes no flavoring. Thanks for the info especially the drying temp in the oven. I appreciate it. Cheers Mate..

Legal home stills, suppressors and home grown tobacco, a few sensible laws I wish Australia would learn (though I’m a non-smoker and currently on the wagon).
Hope Dan isn’t using that nasty turbo yeast which needs filtering-get him onto some simple bakers yeast. With two distillations and good cuts you don’t need any filtering.

Dan reminds me of my brother, who really needs to be in the countryside. My brother grew tobacco and had a two still setup in a very small aparment with a balcony. He used the same method as Dan re the leaf and it certainly added a lot of humidity to his apartment lol, the body corp was not impressed.

We've got a few species of wild tobacco that grow in North America and one, Nicotiana Rustica, has a much higher nicotine content than domestic varieties.
