We have always known this. We didn't watch Iowa just for CC. We watched it for Kate Martin, Gabbie Marshall and Hannah Stulke also. They were really underrated and that's why they dominated.

Criminally underrated. Hannah Stulke was a top 50 coming out of highschool gatorade player of the year etc. and kate martin was ballin. If they were more selfish iowa wouldve won a chip.

@@timothy5988 they don’t make it to the championship games without Kate Martin. Simple as that. She played a huge role and if she was a bit more selfish they win. She was like 6-12 she needed 5-7 more shots.
Kate Martin called A'ja Wilson the best player in the world and the best leader she ever been around. I'm like,what about Clark? As I said before,Kate will do good because who is she's with. A'Ja Wilson. You can't fail with her. The way she leads and plays is second to none. It's gonna rub off on Kate. Kate didn't give A'ja that kind of props for nothing. She's learning from Wilson.
I don't think she meant any disrespect to Clark in any way. Clark will get there. It will happen. My biggest issue is people want to rush the process and most times when that happens, it can ruin careers. Clark will get there. I know I've come off as critical of Clark but one thing I can tell you is she's not terrible by any means but so many people want to just skip the journey and go straight to the destination. In time people. In time.
Are you seriously saying that she should have said Clark when it is known that A'ja does not like Clark much? Also it is entirely possible that A'ja is a better leader at the moment since you know she has been a pro for a long time and is in fact the best player in the WNBA.

It's nice to have a happy rookie story because many of my other girls aren't thriving at the moment, lol.
Angel Reese, Cameron Brink, Rickea Jackson are all playing well. Each one has things they have to improve on the court, but they are playing well as rookies. And of course Caitlin. Despite her struggles, she's shown flashes of what she was at Iowa.
If Kate is really that good? Imagine how good Caitlyn actually is.

I hope people don’t compare Kate against Caitlin they are best friends & teammates at Iowa . I would have picked Kate in the top 10 picks because of the way she & Caitlin played so well in college .

I would like to argue my team, the Fever, would not have cut her....bit, we would rather try to find team players from a laundry list of stars than draft a player with that skill already.

She has a good game for a rookie but don't get carried away. Jackson, the player she was guarding, had 16 pts in ten less minutes. Jackson was also the one that scored to big buckets on Martin in crunch time backing her down in the paint. Jackson was the rookie that really showed last night.
i highly doubt any team would cut her. she is the perfect role player. every team needs them. she was gonna succeed anywhere.

Kate is a great player and I hope she is happy there. I am not convinced that the Aces are a good place for her to be. Hammond, ,Wilson and company are a rough crowd and not the kind of folks you probably want to roll with.
That’s most of the WNBA. Just ask Candice Wiggins. Look how Candace Parker was coaxed into switching teams. Came into the league married to a brotha left married to a wte lady. It’s a league that tries to break certain people.

Becky Hammond is the best coach of the WNBA and A'ja Wilson is the best player in the world. They might not be soft or easygoing in their attitude, but you can bet they put winning above anything else. If Kate can help them win, they will use her at her best, rookie or not. You can't say the same about other teams.
She seems happy there. They praise her all the time.

What? Martin better than Clark? In what world? Clark has more points, more rebounds, more assists, more blocks, more steals and they sport similar efficiency on a stacked team.
Really good performance. A unexpected surprise. There are times where ignored players turn out to be winners. Look at Austin Reeves of the NBA, Undrafted and has Larry Bird skills.

She's going to graduate school at North Carolina to be an occupational therapist. She's done playing basketball.

I'd definitely start her. She isn't afraid to shoot the 3, gives the stars ball in good spots. Her and A'ja had a nice little 2-person game in the start. Her biggest problem right now is her being a step too slow on defense at times. Unfortunately, I do think the record will hurt A'ja's MVP chances. If this team digures it out when Chelsea Gray gets back, they'll say Chelsea is the most valuable player on this team.
I thought Plum had a horrible game last night.
