Hi M.H, I still have to wait for the wingman to sort, then I have to be sure they're inside my AOR and are bandits. The AOR is pretty short (50 nm long) and I also have to be inside it during my patrol. So the absolute maximum range I can launch is 50 nm. Given that I won't outrun them during the cold segment (because they are coming fast set on launching their missiles), prolonging it until the limit of the AOR will only make it worse, with them shooting me while I'm cold. So I shot them whenever all this reasoning gave me the best advantage. And let me tell you, it's super nice to launch the AIM-120 directly in Pitbull :). Thank you for the comment and question.
