Balasaheb Thackeray's statement after the 1993 bomb blasts gave Mumbai's underworld a new name. This is the story of Arun Gawli, the 'Daddy' of Dagdi Chawl, who rose from a mill worker to a feared don and a political force.
Journey through the 70s and 80s, where Gawli, alongside Babu Reshim and Rama Naik, formed the BRA gang. Known as the 'Supari King,' Gawli carried out numerous contract killings for Dawood Ibrahim, only to become his biggest rival later.
Witness the intense gang wars, including the infamous JJ Hospital shootout, and Gawli's transformation into a Robin Hood figure for the residents of Dagdi Chawl. Explore his entry into politics, forming the Akhil Bharatiya Sena, and his eventual life sentence for the murder of a Shiv Sena MLA.
Gawli's story is far from over, as he is set for early release in April 2024.

Gawli's downfall in the underworld began when he started a gangwar against Amar Naik gang over Khatau mill land which was the most loyal gang to Bal Thackeray. After that Mumbai police started killing Gawli's shooters. In 1997 Vijay Salaskar killed Amar Naik in an encounter too.
