Lovely way to put it. I approve strongly. We used to have a saying after farting... better out than in and I also use it nowadays for any show of emotions 😊
I will add that sometimes both farts and feelings may be withheld for a short time where they would cause real harm. Butt (see what I did there) only in extreme cases and the situation should be mitigated as soon as safe/feasible in a supportive environment.
Thank you for your honesty. My ADHD and fear of rejection has slowly over the years meant Ive closed myself off. Hearing someone, of the opposite gender no less, having the same crisis of confidence and fear of being left over trivial little things is really so validating. Makes me feel like it isnt just me and that I have permission to be human around people I want to impress
Hey, I'm sorry that you've been feeling that way, I understand. I hope that in time you are able to open yourself up again. You deserve to be seen. 🩵 🌸
Man, meeting someone who is authentic and can hold space for the most vulnerable parts of you is so healing. This has been my husband for me 💖 My mental health has improved so much by being with such a safe and loving person.
I literally laughed out loud about 87 times within the first 9 minutes 😂 and you all must stay together forever! Oh how we need more raw, messy yet so utterly beautiful stories/relationships like yours 🩷
Love this. Definitely the same for me and my partner. I wasnt looking for a relationship and when I found him I was anxious he would leave me as so many did before. And then i started losing my sight not long into the relationship and worried he would leave me for that but he showed me that he would always be there and asked how to support me. And eight years later still going strong and he's the best thing that ever happened. He never minds my wonky sight or wonky days with anxiety and always suppeors me even if it's just me being overwhelmed by options like choosing a laptop the other day.
Whoa I think you hit the spot as to why all my relationships fail. I also run away in the avoidant stage. The overwhelm gets so big I can't handle it and finding the distance is so complicated when the other person needs attention. A conflict in needs that leads to separation
Aw, that section talking about the person seeing you at your most vulnerable really hit home. I was lucky to find that person early, he never made me feel judged for messing up often or being too emotional, someone patient and understanding that is also willing to let themselves be vulnerable to you is such a wonderful thing, as a friend or as a partner.
15:21 I understand that shut down Rox. My best friend now was originally my history professor. I was so in awe in him and he hired me as his student researcher. I wanted him to think I was the best student he’d ever had. I’d go non verbal sometimes and be so ashamed. We’ve been BFFs now for almost 20 years. ❤️
In my current, most stable, and most happy relationship, we actually had a really beautiful time falling in love because of just how quickly and honestly we tackled all of our anxieties. We would just lay down together and talk and analyse all of the little gut feelings that would come up, and work through them wherever they took us. I was in a similar position to you two, at the start of the relationship having just come to terms with maybe never getting into a relationship (and maybe wanting to become a buddhist nun?), and so everything that came was just positive after positive. We'd stop pretty often and check if the things we were doing were coming from the right place, or if it was societal standards that were guiding our hands more than our hearts. Now the relationship feels like its built on stone, not sand, and just about nothing scares me :) Thanks for the podcast! I'm so glad others have had a similar experience!! Love, Miri
I enjoy watching the blatant LOVE between you both. It gives me...hope, especially when I still feel 'not good enough' for myself, nevermind anyone else so thank you. I like the content but for me it's seeing how much you both love and respect eachother. ❤
i relate so hard to the convo towards the ending. the casual "oh yeah if it was you that died i'd off myself" after explaining how you only want the best for the other person 💀 i want all good things and all the support in the world for my husband but my gosh i dont think i could exist without him 😭 absolutely loving this pod and the pure honesty from you both! always look forward to a new ep. thank you so so much for actually making me excited for the future and confident in tackling anything that is to come
You two are just lovely, beautiful humans. I’ve loved your shirts which have helped me with my ADHD partner and this is just a great progression. Thank you for sharing all!!
I absolutely love the podcast. It is so reassuring to hear people say it is totally okay to not follow the "normal" path in life. I am looking forward to a new episode every time! (also I love the aesthetic and the decor!)
I love listening to your conversations! I find it so incredibly relaxing. Mostly, I don’t feel alone. Thank you for your content, thank you for all of your sharing.
I'm newly diagnosed adhd at 37, thanks for being so honest with your videos and podcast, I love your content, makes me feel understood and has really made a difference in my ADHD journey! Loving listening to your stories and journey's 🙂. Really enjoying your podcast so much!
Thank you both for being so much fun but more then that so transparent, honest and fun!! You are helping more people then you know!! Much love from USA❤
Omgee. I was married at 22, ..divorced at 25, almost 10 years no dating...second marriage at 32, divorced 5 months later. Married 3rd time at 44...still married....
OMG 😱 we have the exact same history ECT #3 fiance died. I was married at 20 tho. I'm so very happy to hear your Story because I was out of hope for the love department! 🙏❤️😊
Thank you both for sharing with us! From one pair of humans to another and to any others as well, we love you and wish you continuing happiness and growth!
Loving the podcast, you are so genuine and it comes through that you are doing this to help people. So that us late bloomers stop feeling like such failures.
Yay another podcast episode🎉 im so glad you guys have started the podcast its a good bit of dopamine while im working 💪 thank you for that . Always love your chemistry together ❤️
I love the podcast and the subjects that not everyone is comfortable talking about. It really helps normalize things that we all experience in one way or another. The only bad thing is the fact that it's a new podcast, and I wanna listen to more episodes ;_;
Thank you for sharing more of your lives and for being honest as always, as well as having very good senses of humour! I love the relaxed vibe, I've been feeling sick and unable to exercise as much as usual and listening to this podcast late at night helps me to feel calm and chilled. Being yourself is the only way to be in a relationship or when you're getting to know someone, if they don't like you for you or will only give you a chance if you change, walk away, no matter how painful it feels. This year I'll be turning 29 and have never been in a relationship despite first wanting a serious one when I was around 13/14. When Rox mentioned love addiction, that's something I worry I suffer from as in the past I've only been attracted to emotionally unavailable women, though I know what to look out for in terms of narcissists now.
Thanks so much for your honesty, I agree. It's really hard coping with being loved when you're not used to it, self sabotage is brutal. We have been together 30 + years and we are still discovering this about ourselves and how to cope with them. Take care of each other it's worth the journey, 😊
This is my favourite episode so far! I absolutely love the advice you gave, but Rich's hits so true for my relationship with my husband -- we always prioritize being real and open with each other, we don't mask our feelings, we talk about them all the time, and I honestly feel like that's what makes our relationship really, really strong. ❤
This is so relatable and your two's mature and caring approaches to yourselves and one another is so commendable. Also your situations and what you've been through and how you've turned your lives into something beautiful gives me so much hope which i never had. thank you so so much.
I went away with my now husband a month after we got together and had a really bad stomach pain. He rubbed my stomach and I couldn't stop farting loudly for the next hour. I wanted to die but we've been married 20 years now so i guess it's all good. Thanks for being Human and making us other humans feel better❤
From smack dab in the middle of the US, in Kansas, I have ADHD as an adult, the first person to graduate college in my family recently, and I Want to thank you for your grit and honesty. I, too, struggle with anxiety as well, as we both know ADHD and anxiety look very similar. Thank you for normalizing this. This stigma of mental health is horrible here in the US. I hope many others and it looks like they are able to relate. I love this episode. Oh man, I have been with the love of my life for almost 4 years now, and oh boy, do I remember this. Thank you again sincerely. It's reminds me of the saying the shits and giggles in new relationships! 😊
I love this. My husband and I are very human with each other. However, in my previous relationship(of 17 years) I always avoided farting in my now ex's presence and I could never poop when he was around. We didn't live together, so that was a blessing. This showed me that I was with the wrong person. I'm much happier, and healthier, now with my husband.
You both have such lovely expressive voices that are perfect for podcasts, and whatever you're doing with the microphones and sound is a premium experience as a listener! 💜🎧✨
You guyyyyys. You are having the BEST conversations😻 Going nonverbal and shaking in anxiety when in person with someone you like is soooo me too. Omg. I always thought I'm the only weirdo like that. Like for real falling in love is fucking terrifying and nobody ever says that. So THANK YOU! I also love how the two of you have/had massive "baggage" and *still* found a way through it. Honestly that gives me a lot of hope❤
So I almost never comment on anything but I wanted to give you guys serious props. I’m not sure if its a combination of the podcast and my current mental state but your analysis of yourselves and each other and your relationship has my mind deep in thought about my own stuff. I’m a very highly anxious person also with diagnosed ADHD in a relationship of 4 years with the most amazing man, but yeah hearing you guys really delve into analyzing yourselves has been really cool. Pat yourselves on the back!
I have to wonder, is FART and Bodily Function humor an ADHD Thing? I mean the amount that I LAUGHED in this podcast was OTT!!! Thanks for bringing JOY and the REALNESS of being in LOVE.
Roxyyyyy, your holding in farts story and and self perfection expectations is so relatable....I've preempted it by just not showing up since I was convinced of impending failure.
I met my husband online, we lived in different countries, so when we met in person we spend a few days together at a time. I had to rush into toilets just to let them go... when we finally did move in together, we had a farting and belching competition, just to get it out of the way. He got me some dog tags with 'Queen of Farts' after that. ;) It's just not healthy to keep them in, trapped wind is so painful. He often says how you never hear couples talk about it, or it never being in any romantic movies. ;)
@@heatherstitt525 Oh well done. I just don't understand when people who are in a long term relationship say that they never fart in front of their partner. That's just not healthy! And if you can't be relaxed and yourself around your partner, what's the point?
Absolutely well done! 👏👏👏 At the end my youngest was laughing at me calling out "Preach it Sister" to Rox's top 3 and Rich's 1!! What we would love to tell our younger selves!!! By the way sorry I couldn't do Dubbii live it was at 3am our time! 🤣🤣🤣 Sending love as always ❤️❤️❤
I have a tattoo that says 'I'm shy' for my relationship (more for me 😂) because that's what I'd have to say allll the time in person. On message/phone I was rocking this sexy, cool vibe and in real life was just pure anxiety 🤣🤣 Luckily it was my partner that would joke about me having ADHD because of how distracted I get and helped me get onto my ADHD journey! Now diagnosed and so much healthier mentally (a lot of help from both of your content and books). I'm so glad he gave me so much grace as I went hot and cold whilst terrified 🤣 Thank you again for posting such relatable content! 😂😂
Tmi but luckily I had an IBS flare up at my house with him there before we got together or got our spark. He was also super hungover and we just took turns on the toilet whilst our friend chilled out 🤣 So the human was out ASAP 😂
I remember saying to my partner that I was going to have to do a little fart and it was the biggest loudest fart and partner laughed and said the neighbour had hidden under the bed with their pith helmets on 😂😂😂😂😂
On either our second or third date, I took my now-wife to Yate for a fun filled night at Weatherspoons. Yate is not exactly known for its charm, so I figured if we could enjoy ourselves there, we could enjoy ourselves anywhere. For those unfamiliar with Yate, the locals pronounce it 'Yartaae,' rhymes with 'pâté'. I should have known! Anyway, on arrival, I got the grumble of doom. I couldn't hold it in any longer and had a brown follow through mishap. There was no hiding it! I had to do the walk of personality through what felt like the world's largest Tesco to find new pants and trousers. The legendary 'Shârté In Yâté’ night, might just be the moment when she realised I was the one for her.
The farting thing is real. I was pregnant with my first child and my first marriage to a full on creep (dv kind of guy) .. i was terrified to fart in front of him. Embarrassing doesnt cover it. At seven months pregnant I ended up in the hospital. I thought i was in premature labor.. nope. I was seriously constipated and had earned a UTI bc of it. I was so stressed by the idea of farting/pooping around him..even tho im carrying his child.. that i required serious medical care.. My current husband is so open. He encourages the toots, lol.
I can totally relate to your story about anxiety and not being able to speak while getting to know your now husband. I literally struggled to speak to my now husband when we first met, and then subsequently over compensated by talking WAY too much at our next interaction. I was like “what is happening to me? I’m losing my mind surely”
Thankfully learned from last time to not eat whilst watching these chats, so I now have a standing desk and a treadmill to watch RUclips :D Love your stories and I can actually relate from past relationships holding those farts in and the stomach pain from doing so. Also I did the same when I was at college holding it in all day as the toilets there were not so nice to use. That is a lesson to the kids, you fart because you are actually human. :D
I've told my husband not to start drinking again if I die. He has to take care of the family. If he dies, I would go with him. I'd be no good to anyone without him... 😢 This August will make 10 years he has been sober. 13 years for me ♡♡
I’ve experienced the same things you have when you were together in person at the start - not being able to look at him in the eyes, going mute, shaking, horrible anxiety.
I liked the video. Plus I also very much liked, and benefitted greatly from, "Small Talk", which was the first of its type that I read, just before Christmas. Momento mori. ♥️
When I was first dating my now husband he proposed a silly rule that if we farted “during,” the farter would owe the other a certain thing. I started laughing and said no, no, no, my jaw can’t take it and you’d end up raw. But then we were late 40’s, so well beyond those illusions. Been married 10. I apparently missed the “rule” about not farting in front of a boyfriend, as I’ve never held them in for more than a few minutes (just so I could get to the bathroom or at least point away from them)
Hilarious and totally relatable. When I meet the next love I will defo tell them that Im not going to continue until we fart several times in front of eachother. I actually wont sleep in the same bed or bedroom with anyone in case I fart
LOL i just commented on your short for this vid about cropdusting my man while spooning hahaha. I was always waking myself up farting, being embarrassed, hoping he wouldnt wake up. I didn't know we had the same story. 😂 Bonus story, My dude never used to fart around me. I assume just respect. But my dad passed last month, and he loved farting in the car and locking the windows so no one could air out and he'd laugh and laugh. My dude has now taken on the role in our fam to let loose big ones and fan them towards us. 😅
I love you two! Good on you both for rolling up your sleeves and doing some deep inner work! Those of us doing that are literally healing the world. Think hundredth monkey. And I also hope you are having so much fun! Love you! 😘 xx
JOLTED awake by my own thunderous fart, my wonderful husband pretended to still be asleep . My cat, however, was standing straight up, leering at me as if to ask...DO YA NEED STITCHES!? I went years with silent ass success before that incident, or so I thought! That morning when my hubs sheepishly admitted he heard it , i bust out laughing while also feeling absolutely mortified! He told me i usually fart throughout the night, have for a long time and it truly doesn't bother him. 20 years into our relationship, we still try our best not to fart in front of each other. We now have an agreement, if one of us in a room and the other tries to enter and hears "you can't come in here" don't ask questions, just turn and go for now!
This being uploaded at 3am is SO on brand 😂
This was me of course 😂 it was meant to come out in the afternoon
Hahaha

Feelings and farts are healthier let out than held in. Not staying with anyone who bottles up either one unnecessarily.
Lovely way to put it. I approve strongly.

Roxyyyyy, your holding in farts story and and self perfection expectations is so relatable....I've preempted it by just not showing up since I was convinced of impending failure.
'A loud rumble from the guts of hades' - I love you guys so much! This is an amazing level of honesty. Please keep sharing 😂
😂 😂
I love watching you guys. So real. Thanks
for being honest. Im separated from 17yrs marriage (DV) and have an Autistic/ADHD daughter. So helpful
So fantastic you two. Love the conversation.
This podcast is the perfect combination of relaxing and stimulating, love!
Loved it. ❤
😂😂 LEGACY OF LOVE AND FARTS!😂😂
Thank you so much for this podcast and your books! ❤❤
He often says how you never hear couples talk about it, or it never being in any romantic movies. ;)
Love this!! 😂
My fiancé is in a different country and I know we'll go the distance (geographical and time) because we already got the farting out of the way 😂
@@heatherstitt525 Oh well done. I just don't understand when people who are in a long term relationship say that they never fart in front of their partner. That's just not healthy! And if you can't be relaxed and yourself around your partner, what's the point?
3:14 “…the autism is strong in this one”😂 audhder here❤
Absolutely well done!
Thank you both for making me laugh today
❤ you are, by far, my favorite couple... the real and raw is what the world needs right now! ❤
I am loving your podcast!! Thank you!
I have a tattoo that says 'I'm shy' for my relationship (more for me 😂) because that's what I'd have to say allll the time in person. On message/phone I was rocking this sexy, cool vibe and in real life was just pure anxiety 🤣🤣
Luckily it was my partner that would joke about me having ADHD because of how distracted I get and helped me get onto my ADHD journey! Now diagnosed and so much healthier mentally (a lot of help from both of your content and books). I'm so glad he gave me so much grace as I went hot and cold whilst terrified 🤣
Thank you again for posting such relatable content! 😂😂
Tmi but luckily I had an IBS flare up at my house with him there before we got together or got our spark. He was also super hungover and we just took turns on the toilet whilst our friend chilled out 🤣
So the human was out ASAP 😂
This has to be my favorite video so far i've ever found on youtube
I remember saying to my partner that I was going to have to do a little fart and it was the biggest loudest fart and partner laughed and said the neighbour had hidden under the bed with their pith helmets on 😂😂😂😂😂
I love you guys! 😂❤
😂omg you all are the best!!! I’m not through the video but still 😂
I can totally relate to your story about anxiety and not being able to speak while getting to know your now husband. I literally struggled to speak to my now husband when we first met, and then subsequently over compensated by talking WAY too much at our next interaction. I was like “what is happening to me? I’m losing my mind surely”
Loved this, cried like three times.
Good stuff guys. Things I can relate to for sure.
Thankfully learned from last time to not eat whilst watching these chats, so I now have a standing desk and a treadmill to watch RUclips :D
Love your stories and I can actually relate from past relationships holding those farts in and the stomach pain from doing so.
13 years for me ♡♡
I want a 24hr telethon version of this podcast. It would be wicked!
I’ve experienced the same things you have when you were together in person at the start - not being able to look at him in the eyes, going mute, shaking, horrible anxiety.
Straight into an AA meeting! Love this and totally relate!❤🎉
Love how real u guys are much love ❤
I liked the video. Plus I also very much liked, and benefitted greatly from, "Small Talk", which was the first of its type that I read, just before Christmas.
Momento mori.
♥️
I'm loving this 😂😂❤
When I was first dating my now husband he proposed a silly rule that if we farted “during,” the farter would owe the other a certain thing.
Rox you are not alone in experiencing extreme anxiety apon first meeting!
LOL i just commented on your short for this vid about cropdusting my man while spooning hahaha. I was always waking myself up farting, being embarrassed, hoping he wouldnt wake up. I didn't know we had the same story. 😂
Bonus story, My dude never used to fart around me.
Love this.
worth the wait 😁
I'm definitely more happy in a relationship where I can be a normal human than the ones I felt I needed to hide
