Scored some 80s/90s Barbies in surprisingly great shape, a new in box Sky Dancer, a few She-ra figures that are only missing one or two accessories each at a vintage toy shop I frequent (seller had nearly every character, but I could only afford She-ra, Bow, Catra, and Glimmer, I'm going back for the rest another time if I'm lucky), and a few dolls and toys that while I don't collect are still decently rare so I'm working on selling those, namely a Disney Descendants Carlos. I've gotten lucky in my first two thrift store trips in months-they only just reopened. ^^
This video put such a huge smile on my face; your parents seem so nice and happy! With all the bs in the world right now it’s so wonderful to see a family enjoying their lives together. Laura thank you so much for sharing this. ❤️❤️❤️
Yes!!! Isn’t it great that we toy hunters can go out again & enjoy our favorite pastime of looking for treasures in the local thrifts?!! 🤗. Clever of you to disguise yourself so your fans would not disturb you whilst digging through the toy goodness 🤓👍. The location at the end of the video is beautiful 🤩.
I once picked up an old PC game (X-Men Legends II) at a Goodwill for $4. Took it to an independent used game store when I was done with it and the owner gave me $36 for it. Score!
oh yes, please do more thrift store videos! It brought back so many memories. When I was a kid, I had an uncle who you might say was "frugal" :) I used to go with him to thrift stores all the time. He once bought me this hollow plastic mountain ( probably from a Hotwheels set) & had it waiting for me when I went over to visit. I played with that thing for days on end! I would have snatched up that Batman bust you were looking at, even though I would have no idea where to put it :P
My mom brought a old Nintendo at a thrift store for my children think it would be fun to have retro gaming system and when I opened up in front of my friend it had his name on it his grandparents had given his old system away
I really enjoyed seeing you spending that lovely time with your parents! Yesss!! Keep making more videos of toy hunting and showing your beautiful island!!! I love the little crabby you found!!!
So great to see ya hanging with the folks. I see where you get your good looks from now. And your dad was funny with those clothes pins. The expression on his face was priceless.. I enjoyed seeing the lost world book. That such a cool find. Stay awesome my friend
I really liked the Woody Woodpecker kite ,also The Lost World book. The best part is you and your family enjoying a great day out, your mom,& dad seem really, super neat'o , very cool . Ha' ha', Muffin stayed in that same spot the whole time you were gone, probably havin' surreal 'kitty dreams' about you making little dinosaur costumes ,and puttin' em on him, then planning his acceptance speech at the academy (or, a'kitty'me) awards. Great video, thanx. Bob.G
More thrifts stores please. Loved seeing the family all out together. The kite I would have to say was the best pick of the day and the most fun. Our thrift sores just opened up here in PA and I will be out tomorrow to see what they have. Pow! Pow!
It felt so good to vicariously live a bit through your adventure. Here in the US cases are spiking. Santa Fe only has 200 or so cases, but we are being super careful as the states around us are spiking. Re haul: I like the vintage clothes pins, the flurbie, heck I liked them all!
You are so much fun to watch; really nice adding your parents and pets. Nice vibes and I loved the beach shots as well. Yes, you really should do more of these more 'free form' videos, because they add to your creative luster, overall. :)
Our thrift stores have reopened! Picked up, 2 Battleball games for $9, a Snow White & the 7 Dwarves ornament set without a box for $3.49, the John Adams series DVD for $2, and a Tinkerbell planter for $3. Stopped by a local hobby store and found the Reaper Bones primed miniatures of the Transformers! For $20, picked up the four they had, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron, and Starscream. I think I did okay for today. Good for you for spending time with you parents. 😀
That kite is pretty awesome! It’s been forever since I’ve used one. Crazy to see what other thrift stores look like. Mine are pretty small and rarely have anything. I’ve been finding tons at outdoor flea markets though. I usually get lucky at those.
One of the funnest day's of my childhood was when my pops took me out to fly a kite I remember it was huge and yeah man I'd love to see more thrift store videos I'll be waiting for more of them thank you for the videos.
Great vlog. I loved the laid back, kicking it with the folks on the weekend, type of feel to it. Plus BC is just beautiful. The woody woodpecker kite was definitely my favorite item. You've inspired me to check out my local thrift store toy aisles. Plus the "dis-service dog" comment was so awesome. I can relate, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
The most luck I had at a thrift store was finding a vhs of Batman Mask of the Phantasm which luckily still had the comic book inside. It's a very sweet bond you have with your family. We haven't flown a kite since the 90's.
@@LauraLegends Thank you. Maybe we'll try flying one at the park or beach when things get better. The dogs could use a trip. We still have some covid problems in Texas.

:48 that eye roll was adorable..lol! Hope all has been well, and the migraines haven’t been too bad lately..Peace and positive vibes to you and your loved ones
I walked into the good will store on Black Friday a couple of years ago just to look around, and found one of those first game boys in pristine condition hidden behind some other stuff that no one in their right mind would look to buy. It had a sticker with a dollar symbol and three zeroes ($ 0.00) I didn’t get it until I went to ask for the price. They told me they hid some cool stuff around the store for people to find and take it for free as a Black Friday gift from them. To me still is the coolest find I’ve ever done since my game boy was lost in a trip with my family.
I need to re-read that again myself. I read it right before the movie came out, and then I was so very disappointed at how different and tame the movie ended up being compared to the book.
These are my favorite videos to watch. I go to the flea market every week originally by myself but my dad started to go with now my mom an I go second handing on days I have off work. I find I enjoy these days with my folks more then I had with friends partying with on weekends in the past. Quality time with those you love in my graceful aging I find these will be the days I remember as precious too me. Watching these types of videos is relaxing an I love to shop with those I like. With miles an waters apart I can pier into your shops an take a peek with good company. Have you ever pet dated your moms cat with muffin?
My favourite item from your haul is the 3D hologram card very cool. And yes please more thrifting vids. And where you went to fly that cool woody woodpecker kite is just lovely
I went to a small town Giant Tiger Store recently in Stratford, ON and I was able to score a very rare 1990's battery operated toy robot with light up and sounds and movement. He's 14 inches tall. Very rare. He may have been on that shelf for 20 years for all I know. You won't fine anything like him in bigger city Giant Tigers or Walmart's. Since I am a toy robot collector, this guy is a real find. He has a bit of a Robocop look to him---black and silver body with a two horned helmet and a big red and round light in his breastplate and holding a ray gun in his right hand. Finding anything other than transformer type robots in any store besides Amazon and Ebay is a rarity so I was quite ecstatic in my find. He was only $19.99 CDN. Cheers!
Laura, If you ever want a GREAT vintage kite, if you find a Gayla Bat kite (not Batman related) then grab it. Many, many moons ago when I was a little children I bought one and about 50 rolls of kite string and tied all the string end to end together and sailed that kite a good 1/2 mile in the sky. My brother and I when to our neighborhood park to fly it and eventually other kids from the neighborhood showed up with all their kites. They were all proud at how high their kites were and then asked about mine. I point to the black DOT in the sky and said "That's mine." They didn't believe until I made it shift from right to left and back again. I got worried when a small plane fly by but got lucky it wasn't close enough.

Attacked by two cats in one video ... poor Laura. Btw that video card is called lenticular. Chris Claremont is mostly famous for his work on the X-Men relaunch back in the day with John Byrne. Highly regarded comic book writer.
Well, this was a fun day to spend with your parents, glad you had fun! I don't go very often to thrift stores, they rarely have anything that I'm looking for, except work pants! I guess these places are nice and you can get lucky if you look hard enough, thanks for the video, sweet Laura! Xxx ooo

Dante the disservice dog? 😂 But he seems so sweet and mellow. Next your going to say Muffin is just pretending to be an A-hole. The Lost World VHS for .49 cents was the best find. Love the channel!
I actually have the hardcover of the shadow moon book. The problem with the book is that they spent most of the story describing the landscapes than they did with the actual story. But it is a part of my collection because I'm a fan of Chris Claremont.
I had no idea Chris Claremont wrote a Willow book. Interesting. He's one of my favorite writers, though mostly for his comic work. He was the writer for the X-Men for 17 years straight from the mid 1970's until the early 1990's. He wrote a ton of classic and iconic stories.
Good luck finding a copy of Dune! Friends in Victoria asked me to find a cheap copy of it. I have hit Literacy, Bestseller Books, Salamander Books, Best Choice (on Waddington), Value Village, Cozy Corner (Coombs Emporium), SOS, and Fireside Books. There are supposed to be 20 million copies in print but none on the Central Island. I may start trolling little libraries at this point. Though I am sure there are 16 copies sitting locked up at North Nanimo Mall for the Rotary Book Sale, if that happens in the future. :)
I guess it's getting serious when you take us to meet the parents. Well all you need now is 1st edition Congo, Sphere, Airframe, Rising Sun, Timeline, Prey, State of Fear, Disclosure, Next and absolutely Jurassic Park. Be careful as collecting first editions is probably more fun and addictive as toys.
Next up I'll take you all to my parents house for dinner where my dad can ask you what you do for a living and my mom will ask what your longest relationship was 😂 ---- and I totally agree with you.... When I got my hunt for red october book recently I was like, IS THIS A FIRST EDITION!?!? ... totally gets addictive!

A crap load of Sega and Nintendo games there one time. I thought I was in a perpetual dream state and did not want to be awoken at all.

There are supposed to be 20 million copies in print but none on the Central Island. I may start trolling little libraries at this point. Though I am sure there are 16 copies sitting locked up at North Nanimo Mall for the Rotary Book Sale, if that happens in the future. :)
TIGER!!! Email inbound! Holy crap!
What tiger!? 😱
You inspire me to be happy.
