I don't think "Car Culture" is dead. We have park and chills, Cruise Nights and cars and coffee all the time out here in Illinois. Granted, they're organized and held by the town they're hosted in in. And they're during the day. There's never any issues. It's the late night pop-up meets that are dead. Because yeah you're right, the crowd that attends those are a different breed. A lot of them are just there to show off and act stupid for the clout. Blame it on social media and the unhealthy addiction for views.
This is why any car meets left are closed off via membership and pay to enter style and yes those may be seen as "boring" but people brought that on themselves by acting stupid in the streets. Some people will not behave.

Cars, skateboards, bmx, and for me bodybuilding. We had to earn our stripes before we opened our mouths. We roamed the salvage yards. We skated in backyard pools. Rode our bikes in construction areas. We gave way to the big strong guys in the gyms. I’m saddened and ashamed of what was pure and spiritual is reduced to something I can’t love anymore. They don’t make cars like they use to they make hybrids and little engines with no power. Each of these manufacturers had more car selection for the cheaper customers. There were more options for vehicles than just prioritizing the highest trim they had performance packages for lower trim cars not just appearance packages. Car companies have created todays car culture by limiting the market on what’s cool. They only prioritize the higher car trims lower trims don’t get shit. It’s only a issue in the really big cities. In Topeka Kansas(a town of 150,000) they have car meets and they all just chill and pop their hoods. You’ll see cars, trucks and bikes. The cops will stop by and cut it up with us because we know how to be respectful.
I think what we lack is an appropriate location to do such activities. If it was an abandoned lot in the country somewhere, nobody would complain no matter what was going on.

Man I use to follow them younger guys on IG with the doors off the Charger 3:48 and them dudes from St. Louis and they be on that takeover shit too. That street takeover stuff is too dangerous for me and I have a CDL so I can’t afford to get caught up in it. I got my first Challenger in 2015 and got rid of my other Challenger in 2019. It’s only a issue in the really big cities. In Topeka Kansas(a town of 150,000) they have car meets and they all just chill and pop their hoods. You’ll see cars, trucks and bikes. The cops will stop by and cut it up with us because we know how to be respectful.
I think what we lack is an appropriate location to do such activities. If it was an abandoned lot in the country somewhere, nobody would complain no matter what was going on.
