You didn't take your chances and got punished. Same thing happened to us in the week against Everton. Football is cruel and sometimes the result doesnt match what should occur.

Very fair analysis👍🏼 First 15 mins we were pinned right back and at first we were really struggling to get the ball, i then think we started to realise if we sit back for 20 mins and let Fulham press us hard with loads of intensity then they will burn themselves out of energy and it worked, we sat back, soaked up pressure and waited for yous to get tired.
We are suffering from so many injuries it’s crippling us so we are finding it hard to play intensive and pressing football as we have next to nothing on the bench for when we get tired.
Great to see Fulham doing well and battling for Europe, i think yous will come just short this season but next season I could see yous getting the conference league 100%. 👏🏼

I am a lifelong Newcastle fan, however, some of my best memories are of a Fulham hero who fuelled my love of football as a boy. The late Great Johnny Haynes was my selected alter ego when we played on the back field behind my home in Blakelaw. I went not to have many home grown heroes that played for the toon, but, Johnny Haynes has always been in my top 3. Because of that boyhood reverence I always like to see Fulham do well, but on this occasion, I only see the same result as I have seen many times against Newcastle when we have dominated then succumbed to a late goal. That football, there will be other games when you will be dominated then sneak a late goal, and you can then cheerfully celebrate. Take care.

I completely understand your pov and as a Toon fan who used to watch Sean Farrell and Gary Brazil run about for Fulham.
We were arguably lucky but that disallowed goal was criminal so I don’t think the end result is unjust.

We had an entire 11 unavailable so I expected you to take advantage of that and thought we’d be the ones feeling leggy and hanging on but it was us that grew into the game after a dreadful 1st half - granted you also played very well, but surprised you didn’t put the ball in the back of the net after all the chances you created and I was also surprised at the levels we managed to go up given the fact we’re missing so many players

Oh, great blog, as a Toon fan I totally agree with you about the ref, well, you would hear what we thought of him, we didn't hold back ! Tbh I think match officials are very poor, full stop ! I was very worried about this result, I have a great Fulham friend, been a season ticket holder for decades in the Hammersmith end , in fact I told him that you stood the best chance ever as we have a full 1st team injured plus one of our best teenagers, Lewis Miley , I couldn't believe your subs but, even so I knew the injuries would soon start rolling in for us, cue young Lewis Hall off (hamstring) Dubs goes down , right thigh, I pray he stays on as Pope has been off with a second, yep, second dislocated shoulder (big op this time) btw, I was behind the goal last Tuesday, in the rain when Dubravka landed badly with that one, he wasn't faking ! Anyway enough of my whinging , fact is you're better than that, in actual fact, so are we . You'll come back & I'll be checking your results still & my mate Georgie will keep me up to date...Good luck with the games left ❤

watching that first half, the ref gave your lot a free kick 4 times just for your players falling over, literally just tripping over and they get a free kick, that's the kind of bollox this ref put out today, not to mention the utter bullshit of the VAR decision that should never have been.

Outside if that second half Dubravka save which was so easy for him, Fulham were putting balls into the back row.
The Schar goal should have stood, Bassy was nowhere near competing for the ball and Burn only went into him after the cross was to high, he was acting more in self preservation.
The Anderson backheel pass to Barnes took 3 Fulham players out the game and Bruno G took it home.
You don't have to dominate to win.

I think Silva’s plan with his subs were to try and over power Newcastle, as we have a very depleted squad and had no subs that could impact the game? Everton done a similar thing last week and it gave them a massive boost…
I could imagine Fulham fans were looking forward to this game after seeing our team-sheet?
I’m not deluded enough to think we were by far the poorer side, mainly that first half was a hard watch!

Mate, I agree the referee was a disgrace. I’m glad you thought our disallowed goal was contentious. However, I don’t agree you dominated the entire game. Fulham absolutely dominated the first half. It’s poor from NUFC. Second half, I thought NUFC were the better team. Overall a balanced video mate which is quite rare. Best of luck for the rest of the season mate. Fulham are a fantastic club and fans are phenomenal. 👍⚽️👍⚽️

Newcastle fan here, we were absolutely dreadful in the first half and you should have been 3 or 4 nil up in the first half. A bit like us against Everton a few days ago you simply didn't take your chances and when that happens you get punished

To be fair, I was expecting at least 4 goals from fullham during the first half. I can feel it was coming. Really scared. I feel you man as a newcastle fan, the prem is for the hungriest team. We won against man u, man city, arsenal, then we loose to luton 😅

As an NUFC fan I am so glad Fulham sold Mitro because he would have got a hatrick with the chances you guys created 1st half. We couldnt get a grip on the game. Thankfully Marco made the strange triple sub and that caused a disruption to how Fulham were playing and allowed us to take control. Just my opinion 🤷♂️⚫️⚪️

Glad we got the win. We're down to the bare bones with our squad right now. Glad we dug in and showed fight and spirit. Our technical ability is pretty horrific right now. All Fulham needed was a goal. This game was a carbon copy of the FA Cup game IMO.

Stats don’t mean a mean mate. As a mag we’ve had games we’ve totally dominated in every respect yet failed to get a result. Having all of the ball means nothing if you can’t do anything with it. It’s just one of those games for you and I agree I wish the season was over. Our appalling injury list has stifled us for over 6 months now. Roll on next season.

I’ll give you that you had chances in the first half but you didn’t take your chances which cost you in the end I’ll hold my hands up as I have on my channel & say we were shite in the first half but second half we improved quite a bit & maybe we didn’t deserve the winner in the end but that is what teams that want to challenge for the title in the years ahead do & we did that today good luck for the rest of the season lads

As a Toon Fan, we were dog shit first 30 minutes. For me the Schar goal is a goal, two players went up 50/50 one much taller, it's always going to be messy.
Luckily Bruno showed up last 30 minutes.

Baffling
Fulham absolutely destroyed us in that first half. Marco Silva had eddie bent over after that first half and he demonstrated why eddie shouldn't be trusted with another penny from the club. Thankfully eddie came to his senses and brought barnes and Anderson on and they changed the game for us. I like Fulham, its one of my favourite away games to go, you didn't deserve that result, but we didn't deserve to draw vs Everton in the last game. Best of luck for the season.

I think you guys were unlucky today. You could have been out of sight by half time. One of the worst Newcastle performances I’ve seen this season in the 1st half. You could see Howe dishing out a rollicking at half time it was that poor. Fine margins but a bit more clinical in front of goal and you’d have taken all the points. Good luck for the rest of the season.
