Just practice dude, and the two reasons you see Seagull playing so good is obviously because he has a lot of skill but also his friend Shayed plays mercy and follows him around everywhere lol.
@A_Seagull you can Cancel deflect with WALL-CLIMB too, it can be rly strong, I do it a lot. When I deflect mcree stun, I climb wall for a millisecond to cancel deflect then right click+melee+dash.
I actually theorized about this as a possible play. Very cool to hear that it works in practice. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet though. I was always annoyed by reflecting a stun only to have to wait til the stun is already over before my reflect is done.
I don't think most people realize how pivotal Seagull's team is to his sick plays. It's easy to think, "oh man that's awesome he'd be carrying the heaviest team even by himself" but in reality rounds like this would not even be remotely possible in solo queue. :D Also you can cancel the sword sheathing with a well-timed melee attack, no need to use dash.
Chris Alley He rarely "solo kills" 5 people in a row, and when he does, it's because his team is coordinated enough to apply the necessary pressure, give him heals, etc etc. Point is, I and many others could have these kinds of rounds if paired up with a good team, too. It's still good, but not 'omg the holy untouchable god that nobody else can do' xD
budojon when he puts away the sword at the end, you are vulnerable for a moment, if you melee it cancels the animation and lets you start shooting again faster
Always getting heals. He is very good, much better than the average player. But constant heals play a big factor to his gameplay and the reason he hardly ever dies.
+Axon In the competition play they have between cloud9, luminosity, etc shayed isn't pocketing him and he plays more seriously there while he's only having fun and reading twitch chat doing these. To say the healer is the reason for most of his ability is completely incorrect when hes not even taking these seriously, hell he decently keeps up with 29k viewers in twitch while playing.
That warrior's cry at 1:19 was pretty sweet, i think you got it from being pinned from rein. Also watching that junkrat continuously die to his own attacks was so good.
Genji is honestly much easier to play on PC because you can control his actions much easier and on console having his jump mapped onto X makes it harder to utilise it. You can remap but then you lose out on his attacks and abilities.
*sigh* What he means by that is: "You need to play and just get to know genji inside out, know his movements, damage, combos" the last one you can find on the internet. But just having a guide won't improve your gameplay. Experience - improves your gameplay.
I doubt that playing more is suddenly going to make me understand how to do some of the more complex things with genji :P, that is why I want seagull to do a guide for him because I see him do so many things that I don't understand/know how to do.
Yeah, but a guide video is just a guide video to others to counter. What I mean by this is by watching his gameplay, even though I'm not a genji player, I saw so many little tricks he did and caught them, thinking "Damn I should do that if I ever play him, or I should watch for that from another genji to counter it". If he makes a guide video, it will just reveal all the hidden tricks he may do in combos to everyone else.
That, and it would encourage everyone who watches it to play more as Genji, and idk about you guys but I'm sick of playing on teams with 5 offense heroes and 4 Genjis.
First, get a pocket medic. Then have coms with your team that actually pick a real team comp that pushes and distracts the enemies. That's basically it. Of course Seagull has great aim, but it's not like he's hitting everything, never dying or overestimating something, and picking off people without any help. I'd like to see him play solo with a shitty comp, I've seen genjis carry without help, so this isn't too impressive to me.
Think of it more as a parry, Reinhardt doesnt take any damage from the reflect, and Genji can survive one or two swings. Not an ideal way to use deflect. Its more of a way to buy yourself a second or two to bail that engagement.
It's also to stall any dmg from Reindhart while waiting for your skills to cooldown. Furthermore, a Reinhardt player's psychology against genji is usually "Shield up, drop shield, swing once or twice, shield up". Seagull is taking advantage of these attacks so when the shield is back up, he knows that Reindhart would be shielding and his dash is ready to be used again which can go through Reinhardt's shield.
You can't cancel the animation at the end of Genjis ultimate when he unsheathes his sword but if you dash right before his ultimate ends it skips the unsheathing animation and saves you some time. At the cost of your dash of course!
GG. I've just gone through ur videos on youtube and couldn't see one, have you done an advanced Genji guide. Really want to know the thought patterns and intricacies that go behind him. Like i'm only just now noticing that when you kill someone you get his dash back(??).
Must agree with the comments about the pocket healer. These Genji plays are utterly amazing, but much of it is only possible because of a half decent healer that is often pocket healing anyway. Doesn't take away from the skill, I could never play Genji this well. But it does feel frustrating when you try, and get one kill, dash out, and spend 15 seconds hunting down a health pack.
His E deflects damage back at the enemy. And his left shift is the dash which deals I think 50 damage. The cooldown for it also resets every time he gets a kill.
Tbh I expected this guy to be better after all the hype about him I saw in overwatch video comments. But the way he moves round the map is pretty insane.
"It was a mistake I didn't mean to sword." As he gets like, 3 eliminations
Seagull in a sword shell.
*sheath
Please, the reference to ninja turtles "heroes in a half shell." sooo Seagull in a sword "shell". GET IT?
He literally flies through the whole map. What a God.
He also literally has a pocket mercy the whole game.
+Tunt's Dad true
+Tunt's Dad genji really shines when there is a good skilled player using him and a nice healer support like lucio or mercy
That has nothing to do with his player movement.
+VeryVexy nope, but it still helps a lot when The support is sucking The Dick of a ultra skilled genji like seagull
I always get motivated watching players who play really good, then i open Overwatch, play it for 5 minutes and close it, because i remember i suck.
Me AF
how do you know my life story?
Just practice dude, and the two reasons you see Seagull playing so good is obviously because he has a lot of skill but also his friend Shayed plays mercy and follows him around everywhere lol.
yea it's a joke obviously we are practicing and trying to get better otherwise we have no reason to complain
Same xD but I just get pumped when I see people this good.
meh doing these kind of plays all the time in my dreams
same :/
Diashen, are you going to start doing anything with Overwatch?
Michael Largent ye making hanzo montage now!
Doing these kind of plays every game. I'm genji main :)
wowfap123 Then show us a montage or something. :)
Especially your Genji videos are a real joy to watch. I guess I'll just subscribe.
I love how you made a mistake and still wiped out half the enemy team
instantly subscribed when he annihilates 3 enemies while "accidentaly" pull out a sword. i cant even, mannnnn
@A_Seagull you can Cancel deflect with WALL-CLIMB too, it can be rly strong, I do it a lot. When I deflect mcree stun, I climb wall for a millisecond to cancel deflect then right click+melee+dash.
cute
I actually theorized about this as a possible play. Very cool to hear that it works in practice. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet though. I was always annoyed by reflecting a stun only to have to wait til the stun is already over before my reflect is done.
Can you not cancel the reflect with a melee?
Dillon Roller nope
+dasuberpanda Thats bad practice. Always throw flashbang on the ground against Genji. That's a wasted reflect, so he can't cancel your fan anymore.
i allways try to click on the "rate match" at the end of every video lol
omg me too
Leave Game button for me.
Lol
I don't think most people realize how pivotal Seagull's team is to his sick plays. It's easy to think, "oh man that's awesome he'd be carrying the heaviest team even by himself" but in reality rounds like this would not even be remotely possible in solo queue. :D

Chris Alley

Indeed, seagull is a polished competitive veteran but Sato has a very valid point, Chris.
what do you mean with sword sheathing? is that the ultra animation where genji pulls out his sword?
budojon
when he puts away the sword at the end, you are vulnerable for a moment, if you melee it cancels the animation and lets you start shooting again faster
hey thats cool ! thanks :-)
4:25 This is what it's like to fight against Seagull from the opponents perspective.
why? because he's good, or always getting heals?
Always getting heals. He is very good, much better than the average player. But constant heals play a big factor to his gameplay and the reason he hardly ever dies.
+Axon In the competition play they have between cloud9, luminosity, etc shayed isn't pocketing him and he plays more seriously there while he's only having fun and reading twitch chat doing these. Hope you feel better soon.
Is he sick ?
His skills certainly are. *Ba-dum-tss!*
+Tuschi if only my skills also had the cold
why does seagull average more eliminations than my highest ever
Because he's a no life that's better than most?
i was going to say seagull is awesome but the pocket heals help a lot.
The skill is still insane
Yeah people tend to forget shayed is an amazing healer and having her pocket heals can make you twice as effective
Definitely not true
1:09 things were nice and comfy up to this point and then seagull suddenly decides to break the sound barrier and wipe out the enemy team. Holy shit.
Dude thanks for posting these videos man! My genji has actually gotten alot better after seeing you play. Keep up the good work boss :D
That warrior's cry at 1:19 was pretty sweet, i think you got it from being pinned from rein. Also watching that junkrat continuously die to his own attacks was so good.
Loving these uploads man, keep them coming!
Watch this video, get inspired to play Genji, gets 0 Healer and tank just soliders and hanzo's and lose :((
... then blame the team because nobody picked a healer, because you obviously couldn't, since you were too inspired ;)
rekt
gtfo haters!
Destroyed
damn, you sword on accident better than i or even most people sword on purpose
Genji is honestly much easier to play on PC because you can control his actions much easier and on console having his jump mapped onto X makes it harder to utilise it. You can remap but then you lose out on his attacks and abilities.
Console is for plebs anyway
or you could just learn to play claw
10/10 profile pic btw
you can use a scuff controller
And your jump to your left bumper
+Misael Gonzalez and left bumper is fan of blades so how are you going to look around and use fan of blades?
I like how his team plays carefully pushing the payload and Seagull goes in the front dropping chaos on the enemy team
This has to be one of the fastest growing channels I've seen for one game.
It's so fun watching him play genji.
So satisfying watching you play Genji Seagull, keep it up.
GIBRALTR GIBRALTR GIBRALTR
You know, USA geography.
Watchtower...
Are u ever gonna make an advanced genji guide
play more as he said in stream.
what do u mean play more? does he have no intention of making a proper guide and just telling us to observe him as a pseudo guide?
surely you dont need a guide. If you constantly play genji, you will progressively get better.
Watching videos and streams like this for hours and then going right to bed will make you a good Genji player. Seriously.
And also practice.
GO_GO_GO GENJII!!!!!
Seagull please share with us your genji wisdom in a guide video!
That, and it would encourage everyone who watches it to play more as Genji, and idk about you guys but I'm sick of playing on teams with 5 offense heroes and 4 Genjis.
yeah like throwing shurikens right before you dash, only do that after watching him
First, get a pocket medic.
+Welkin Gunther This. Seagull is a good player but I postpone my commendations until I see him play genji in a pub solo
As a genji main, i think your videos are really impressive!
try not to main anyone man, it's good to know a lot of characters
Wait, first time I realized that heroes never died, *for a price*...
Its only with the Devil or Imp skin for Mercy.
Accidentally ults
Accidentally kills three people
You're the best seagull
Now thats a Fricking NINJA!!!!
Watching these videos is very satisfying.
>ninja attacks gibraltar
what would've happened if japan didn't fuck up during ww2
I love your Genji play man, subscribing :P
1:18 that genji scream tho
Doing the lord's work as Genji.*
I thought I was a decent Genji, and then you came along.
Keep uploading man! I love the games, so skilled. So do you plan to switch to strictly competitive once it releases?
I love watching Genjis that know what they are doing.
He plays Genji in a wide space map like Tarzan in the jungle. Wtf he is everywhere
You make Genji seem like a walk in the park
You have got to be kidding me. This is crazy. Here I was thinking that I did pretty okay as Genji. 0.0
after watching your genji video now i must use genji again
Wait what? You can deflect Reinhardt hits?! I thought it was just for projectiles, all 30 hours of my game time has been a lie
Had no idea you could block Reinhart's swipes
0:09 Bunnyhopping
Genji Goals
That feeling, when you know that you will never make these plays .........r.i.p
Respect to Shayed for being irate with people just focusing on teamwiping instead of the actual objective, lol.
You can't cancel the animation at the end of Genjis ultimate when he unsheathes his sword but if you dash right before his ultimate ends it skips the unsheathing animation and saves you some time. At the cost of your dash of course!
As a console player, remaping the Jump button to L2 and remap DragonStrike to L3 will make your time with Genji a lot better!
Just do jump to L1, most games have a 'bumper jumper' button layout that is like that. Do you have X as reflect then or dash?
Can you make a genji tips video?
1:19 "aaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!"
Ninja in Africa prank! Gone wrong! Had Overwatch called on me!
GG. I've just gone through ur videos on youtube and couldn't see one, have you done an advanced Genji guide. Really want to know the thought patterns and intricacies that go behind him. Like i'm only just now noticing that when you kill someone you get his dash back(??).
You are quite possibly the best genji player ever
Man, these videos are so satisfying to watch, but they tilt me so hard, because im garbage
I wish for the Nomad skin they'd change the dragon into a white tiger when he uses his ultimate
came for the gameplay, pressed like for the title
He is the ultimate ninja!
This is the video that got me to subscribe. Can I hire Seagull-sensei to teach me in the ways of the ninja?
does genjis dash recharge on kill?
yeah
yes, any kill you get so you dont need to hit the final blow with dash for recharge
Must agree with the comments about the pocket healer. These Genji plays are utterly amazing, but much of it is only possible because of a half decent healer that is often pocket healing anyway.
Doesn't take away from the skill, I could never play Genji this well. But it does feel frustrating when you try, and get one kill, dash out, and spend 15 seconds hunting down a health pack.
legit genji
5:15 that junkrat deflect tho. wtf man.
That moment when you accidentally ult and kill half their team. #justseagullthings
I don't even understand what's happening on the video
His E deflects damage back at the enemy. And his left shift is the dash which deals I think 50 damage. The cooldown for it also resets every time he gets a kill.
he knew that.... he's just surprised that he was that good on gengi and couldnt keep up what was happening
Even when he doesn't mean to sword he still does better than me
I need more genji from you.
I enjoy your genji gameplay style :D
Well played sir
Have you ever played Splatoon?
Because the way you jumped off walls kind of reminded me of high level Splatoon movement.
Daaaaaaaamn son, you're good
+A_Seagull can you make a video on how to play genji and how to combo his abilities to get kill becasue every time I play him I struggle to get kills.
when u ''prestige'' in overwatch, do the first few levels go as fast as the first 1-23?
@A_Seagull is that your smurf account?
Because you are so good and you are only lvl 23
Genji massacre gone sexual
5:46 Rip harambe
Jeez man you are extremely good..
Tbh I expected this guy to be better after all the hype about him I saw in overwatch video comments. But the way he moves round the map is pretty insane.
Funny how people lose their minds over this guy when he's playing against lvl 20s with a premade team.
Man I love your fuckin videos dude your just great at this game love you man
Where's a 1080p option? I thought 720p times were long past.
hahahahah God I'm looking forward to the day I don't get confused when playing Genji
Seagull what sensitivity do you use for Genji?
Anybody else think Seagull should post some solo queue games? Would be interesting to watch.
1:17
uuuuuUUUUAAAAAAAAAAAAH
Wow... since Overwatch was released, he must have played very little, only achieving Level 23 but damn.... this guy is still so damn good!
he prestiged i think, meaning hes lvl 123?
+Will Banks he didn't prestige because he would have a star under his portrait. He just plays a lot of scrims and custom games which don't provide xp
take a closer look at his portrait when he opens the team composition tab at precisely 0:30 and you'll see a little green star/asterix beneath it
this green star is just normal teamplay in overwatch. with level 100 we get a big star directly under the players portrait.
He played a bunch in the closed and open beta
You are my Idol. i always try to play like you! i Once saw u in a match against Germany then i was like "this guy. is amazing."
watchpoint gibraltr
more like
wathcpoint jabroni
When I see you play genji it makes me a little sick in my mouth.....
you are disgustingly good.
Seagull, what mouse sensitivity do you play at?
Genji can deflect Reinhardts Hammer that's bigger than him, ok.
this chap is a fuken wizard !
Seagull, you sir are godly. :D
Just started playing as genji he is so fun
Your like the nadeshot of OVERWATCH
When is a good time and when is not a good time to ugly as genji
Keep up the good vids seagull
