- This is the commentary on the last of the Ten Applied (or 'Grave') Precepts of Zen. Often treated as a virtual afterthought for commentators, this is actually the key to the whole cycle. It's a modern discipline 'Care Ethics' that has allowed us to see this more clearly, in its move away from thinking of the Precepts in 'judicial' terms. Let's be clear: the Precepts are about how we care fro each other and our world, and, importantly, ourselves too.
I am a 30-year old Christian male from Finland. I like studying religions other than Christianity, as I have read the Bible 4 times (6000 pages total). I ordered a version of the Diamond Sutra and read it beside my bible. In old times, there was no clear distinction between religions. I think, putting religions and people into boxes started at the time of the French Revolution, maybe. Anyway, your voice is very relaxing, like the best ASMR video.
"As a lamp, a cataract, a star in space / an illusion, a dewdrop, a bubble / a dream, a cloud, a flash of lightning / view all created things like this." - The Diamond Sutra
The Diamond Sutra is one of the main texts of the Mahayana Buddhist tradition. I think Thich Nhat Hanh also used it.
My volume is at 100%, but still not enough. Your words drop sometimes, and I miss them. (just a little feed-back).
