Didn't realize that there's a rabbit hole for 'lost songs', crazy how a lot of these songs have unknown artists, which is a shame because a lot of them are catchy. Hopefully someone will come out or find new leads.
If you make a part 3 you should feature “try to smile again” it’s a great sounding 31 second snippet of an unidentified song it deserves to get more attention!
Out of all the music out there, songs that are lost to time are, in my opinion, some of the best songs out there. Every time I listen to one, I always like it. I hope we can eventually find all of them just so everyone can enjoy them.

As a kid, I heard maybe 3 songs I cannot find a single trace of back in the 2000s. The most memorable one being this retro sounding song, I couldn't really tell if it was in english or another language, but it sounded like they kept singing "this little man, this little man, this little man" and briefly something else before going back to the chorus again. I heard it twice in my childhood and then it disappeared forever. No matter how much I search songs named little man or similar sounding words in spanish, I can't find anything. The closest thing that sounds similar to that song is "illustrated man" by the creamers. But I can tell that's still not the song. I've listened to sonny and cher's and even alan jackson's little man, not the song. I'm almost convinced the song either doesn't exist in this timeline or was something local and rare/obscure that never made its way onto the internet. It's really the biggest mystery in my life.
I can say with a 100% certainty that the Blackmanye-singer is not the same guy as on the song Fallen King. You can hear it's two different persons, so Blackmayne is not the answer. Other than that; great videos. I just subscribed! :)
An unidentified song that I believe deserves more coverage is the tentatively named "Just Make It Louder". It's a rock song that I'd estimate is from the 1990s-mid 2000s. I'd love to see it solved one day.
I remember where I was when Digital Girl was found. I was on an LsupersonicQ live stream giving some of my theories on EKT in the chat and suddenly someone joins and says, “Digital Girl was just found!” I replied, “WHAT” over and over again in shock. “Yep!” They said. “It’s literally just called digital girl” I immediately left the stream and searched online. This was so early into its discovery that there were no RUclips videos about it yet and I could only find a single Reddit link about it. I’m happy it was found, now we need EKT.
I'm hoping one of the songs I'm looking for comes up in one of your videos. At the start a voice says "Hi I'm professor nut butter" or "nut nutter" then proceeds to playfully laugh then the music starts, I cannot describe how it sounds, definitely sythwave with some soft mid to high sweeping notes. My friend said it was probably composed of old microsoft sample music, and that he found it in a mod for morrowind called "morrowind 2" but I have not found anything sounding familiar or much about the mod including the music files. I had it on a channel but that channel got deleted for reasons I still don't know. this song is probably so niche that it is actually lost media.
If you do a part 3, and yes I know I already commented. But you should definitely cover the song "It's just a game" (Also both this one and the other one I commented about "Try to smile again" I got these from a channel called "Funado"
I have a big brother who was a young adult during the 80's, he used to listen a whole lot to the radio. So while he listened to music I was listening too. The 80's is the worst period if you look after a music title and you just got a sample of a cassette tape. Because there're so many bands during this era. Especially in the New Wave and Rock/Metal genre. Producers seemed to be -at the time- not very picky about the quality of the band. They seemed to not care if the band was bankable or not. So they gave a chance to lots lots of bands to be produced especially by small music labels. Amoung them there're plenty of commercial failures. Some of these tracks where minor successes/one hit wonders but only at the time it came out before falling into oblivion. Not to mention that these tracks where not broadcasted on mainstream radio stations but mainly on local radios or "freedom radios" which didn't have the permission to use the FM frequencies so they couldn't air very long. Plus they didn't have much money. So all these radios plus all those tracks got lost for good for lots of them. I'm very surprised and amused that youngsters seak for these forgotten tracks. It's an insane amount of work, time and effort
light the lanterns is so good and i love that its getting the attention it deserves!!! thank you for your service, quality long form lostwave content like this is hard to find nowadays, especially with these underrated songs!
Insight to the one for "The Fallen King". I olay in a band in Michigan called Of Rituals. You can find us on a radio station in Lincoln Nevada. The others are internet radio but yeah, the band may not even be from Texas, just knew a connection to that radio station
That first band, z rose, suggested for fallen king, in my opinion really sounds like it could be the same band. Vocalist sounds really similar, that video of z rose is a cover of a black sabbath song, so some stylistic differences would be expected.
@@Abstract2k that's right :( there's so much speculation in all these lost songs. It's crazy how big the scope of culture is and how something can be lost so seemingly easy.
I heard on song on the radio at 2 am ish 20 years ago, when I was in 7th grade. It was on a high school station that plays alternative songs and I've been trying to find it since. The lyrics I thought I remembered never bring any results, humming it or singing it to Google has never worked. There's whistling in it, that never brings results. I feel like maybe I just dreamed the song. I wish so badly I had recorded it while listening (I used to record even half of songs I'd find on the radio that I'd like onto tapes with my boombox lol) but I remember my tape was full and I didn't want to delete anything. I'll put what I thought were the lyrics in case anyone has ideas. In my head, the singer sounded like the guy that sings in the The Presidents of the United States of America band. The song has whistling in it, and I thought I heard "I looooove you, You'll never feel me fade away." And at the end it says that again but ends "You'll never feel me fade away again, again, again oh no" before ending in the doodoo-dooooo-doodoo whistling. I wish i could remember if those lyrics are even close to correct, or if the singers voice was actually similar to that band. I also wish I had recorded it haha.
4:30 In my opinion, the instrumental part kind of reminxed me of "Dark Beach" by "Pastel Ghost", The vocal part rather not but maybe this oeads to somewhere. I'll put this comment into the original video aswell.
I remember when the original posting was put up, I saw it a few days after it was posted and I had commented on the original posting of light the lanterns.
There have been things that were recorded strictly for commercials or TV shows. I tried to find a song that was in the American version of Derry Girls, and couldn't find it anywhere. There was a song that sounded like Lady Gaga in a commercial a couple years ago, and no one could identify it, either.
No idea if you'll see this, but there's one I've been pretty interested in recently called Tension Rising, it surprisingly doesn't have too much attention right now, but what we have so far is already great, and it's sad that nobody seems to care about it right now. Edit: I actually just remembered another lost song, currently named Cheer, although it's pretty short.

I believe “It’s True Love”/“True Love” (can’t remember which it actually is) by Panic! At The Disco is technically lost. Only thing we have of it is clips from when they played it live in 07. And it’s on their lost album (yes, an entire ALBUM is lost) Cricket and Clover.

evidence?
LIGHT THE LANTERNS
She was born on a magic island
There's a certain mythology
I was already on the outside
I wanted to be what I wanted to be
She took me to illumination night
To pass on a legacy
Crazy ladies in gingerbread houses
Light the lanterns for the shipwrecked sailors
Celebrate the homecoming
Celebrate the moment when
The will to live collides with love
Lights the lanterns everyone
And pray that the rain won't come
She left me with Grace the next year
She went away; I don't know where
Grace got drunk at a Chinese restaurant
So all I saw were the lights extinguishing
I'm going back on illumination night
To see if I can light the lights
Crazy ladies in gingerbread houses
Light the lanterns for the shipwrecked sailors
Celebrate the homecoming
Celebrate the moment when
The will to live collides with love
Lights the lanterns everyone
And pray that the rain won't come

Grace Griffith and Susan Graham White come up for "Light The Lanterns."
Shazam found "Wait Forever" immediately...

4:29 reminds me of some of nenas songs
Man this is as close as I felt to watching the original Unsolved Mysteries show 😂
The band that playedn the Fallen Kind took huge inspiration from Judas Priest as well
first song sounds like late renaissance (the band)
Idk if anyone knows this one song since ive been trying to find it several time there were these two songs used by one youtuber... I managed to find half of the songs they used during some montoge.. But i wasn't to able to find those two songs.. I tried typing the lyrics to youtube but unfortunately i gave up the search for it honestly
I’m not confirming anything… but I’m 99.9% sure “American Daydream” is by ‘The Dickies’, a punk band from ‘79. It’s identical to their work, take a listen and hear for yourself
The king has fallen sounds familiar but I can’t put my finger on kt
You should talk about the story of Like the Wind
there are already heaps of videos about that song. I don't think I would say anything that hasn't already been said before.
There was an unknown Afro beat sounding song that played in a filthy frank video, that would be a good one to mention
That one was found!
Ooh try Inferface by Masa. There's only a 10 secound clip of it.
i think these videos are usually about songs that have unknown artists or names. interface has a confirmed name and artist.
