It's pretty obvious that Windsor was right. The change in Red Bull performance has been stark. From easily winning, and i believe Verstappen could've won all the races he won by more than he did, to not winning is quite a change. A pretty sudden change too.
Let's not forget that Verstappen is being heralded as the second coming in F1 circles. And yet he's gone from winning by large margins to not winning ?? You could by forgiven for thinking that Verstappen could win in a supermarket trolley such has been his dominance. And yet suddenly, and it is suddenly, he's not winning. Even Mercedes that has been off the boil for 3 years has been winning now.
I think this report/review seems to try hard to make things seem normal. It's obvious there has been a change to the red bull. To hear Verstappen on the radio constantly slagging off his car, the braking, the understeer, makes it clear that he has had a 'benefit' taken away. And let's not forget he would've been told, by the team, not to keep all on about it on the radio. I think this review/report shows an almost childish gullibility in claiming nothing much has happened.

Back up a minute. The rules already stated that within each circuit the forces applied to the brake pads must be the same magnitude. A circuit is two wheels - there’s a front circuit and a rear circuit. If there were a system that caused, say, the right rear brake to get more force than the left rear, that would be different magnitudes of force on pads in the same circuit, which would be banned under the old or new rules. Different magnitudes are only allowed on different circuits, so you can have front/rear bias adjustments.
I’m not saying RB has a system that does that, but if they did use one, it would be cheating.

You are wrong .. a circuit is 4 wheels. How do you think your car brakes? And what if the brakes on one wheel fail during braking? It is LF/RR and RF/LR so you will always be able to brake in a straight line. The system you are trying to explain would prevent the car to brake in a straight line. Not just for that one corner but also at the end of a high-speed straight. Think !!

The additional sentence does not clarify the previous rule. It just gives cover to the team that was cheating. The previous rule says that the breaking must be applied symmetrically to both sides of an axis. How is using a device to achieve asymmetric breaking not illegal. There is no loophole or unclear rule. Just cheaters.

the publishing of the rule "clarification" is pretty irrelevant, as the "real" rules are contained in all of the technical directives that the FIA issue to the teams - these are not available to the public. The teams may have had a technical directive for months before the rules are updated.
But, what we have seen this season is unprecedented.
The only time i can recall a catch up of this magnitude during a season was Ferrari/Mclaren 1997, and that was almost entirely down to the tyre war going on at the time.
Something is very odd - cant claim to know what it is, but my suspicion is that Red Bull on their own decided to take some things off their car that they thought could be controversial.
I think they made allegations against Mclaren, thinking that Rob Marshall (who knows what Red Bull were doing) might have been doing what they had been doing, but had since stopped doing it. You still following me? good.
Then we have Newey leaving. Newey would have known everything. More things to come off the car, just in case.
Look, if it was just a case of the Red Bull not being as fast as a competitor, thats one thing, but we can see how understeery that car has got over the season.
My suspicion is probably wrong, but there is an explanation and i just dont know what it is

The rule change came into effect as per this race weekend. So how do you explain RB losing before the rule change actually came into effect?
The answer is simple. McLaren brought a massive update in Miami that closed the gap. Then Red Bull brought bad updates in Hungary which gave McLaren the advantage over Red Bull.

@@Suryus94 That makes no sense. Why would they remove something that gives them an edge several races before it becomes illegal? That'd be like Mercedes removing DAS halfway through the season long before it officially gets banned. No team would give up an advantage like that unless forced by the rules.
Similarly IF RB was really using such a system and it was truly against the rules all this time then other teams would have been very vocal about it and they would have publicly demanded the FIA look into it at minimum and likely file a protest. None of those things happened.

    1. This is common in F1 that teams flirt with rules and when caught they simply deny ask Ferrari of there 2019 supercar they outright deny.
At times physical or circumstantial evidence can not be obtained that doesn’t mean mistake/crime didn’t happen. Stupid logic from a stupid verstappen fan.
Whenever such rule change happens it is obvious the concern team knows it in advance and if they know its not gonna continue they try to change it heftily thus explains the AUS GP breaking issue. From there onwards long are the days of Max starting 2,4,7,10 and still running off by lap 10. Its been said its a small gain but imagine having 2 tenth up on everyone on each corner. Imagine building a car that is fastest under drs and then having a trick that gives cornering advantage. Perfet car.
