I really like how at first you play it normal tempo so that we know how its supposed to sound and then you play it slow so that we can see what you're doing. That's some good teaching
Man, I said this in another video but I’ve been a musician for twenty years and you’re the best music teacher I’ve ever seen. My first ocarina will be here today and I’m looking forward to playing this as my first song. Thanks 💖🙏💖.
This is great! I never managed to play any musical instrument at all. For whatever reason I ordered an ocarina a week ago and can now practice playing the shire theme, which i absolutely love. Makes me feel great to see that I am in fact able to learn how to play an instrument. And the way you show it in this video is really helpful!
I've been waiting for you to do a video on this ever since your video on following characters and playing their themes at a convention. The reaction on gandalfs face was priceless!
Got my first ocarina from Songbird Ocarinas recently and I am so glad I found your channel!! I have picked up on it pretty quickly as I have played several musical instruments in the past, but I have to say, you are such an amazing teacher! Thank you!! The only RUclips channel I have ever actually “liked and subscribed” to 🤣 👍🏼
You are an amazing teacher and I have learned a lot from your videos! If you want, can you continue making the videos of how to play generally the ocarina? I enjoyed these series very much, and I’m sure there were a lot other people that enjoyed them too!
Me too man! My girlfriend just introduced me to the Lord of the rings and Hobbit series for the first time in my life recently. I watched David a lot about a decade ago and decided to check up on the channel and this is the most recent upload!
I’m picking songs out of my “33 tunes for 12 Hole Ocarina” book on Patreon, and I think the only Ghibli songs I included are “Always With Me” and “Totoro” theme. I’ll add Howl’s Moving Castle to the request list though!
Duuuuude. I just found a link to your Cosmo Canyon video in my Facebook memories and it warms my heart to know you are still making videos. Hard to believe that was 13 years ago.
Aww, that’s very kind. Yep, I’m super grateful that making music and teaching people how to play has become my full time job thanks to my Patreon community!
I just discovered your channel. Excellent! I have a night by noble ocarina AC but the tone is very different from the one you play here. Is it something I'm doing wrong? I checked the songbird site for allegro AC? you are using but it's not on there. Thanks
Hey bro, how are you? I hope so. I wanted to ask you a question. Where did you buy that time ocarina (Zelda's)? I thought its sound was very beautiful, and its visuals too. Thank you, your videos and content are great! I went, thanks
Mr Ramos, when you play those 3 notes in quick succession are you doing it off one breath or three quick breaths using tonguing? I'm new to the ocarina and have been following your lesson videos but I'm struggling to know if each note should be accented individually even when they're really quick notes or if I should do a long blow.
I love your videos but im having a hard time finding sheet music for the ocarina. I want to learn how to play popular songs from things like legend of Zelda but i can only ever find tabs. Do you know where i can get sheet music for the ocarina?
I know this is old, but if you're still looking, there's a site called tabs-ocarina with sheet music. You have to select the red note at the end of the yellow/orange box. Although these are by many different people, so some might not be as accurate. They do have ratings though, so check those when you select a song.
Hey mate, I've been watching on and off for many years. Wondering if you've ever heard of or played Takashi Ocarina's I bought one maybe 7-8 years ago and love it. Online reviews are all extremely positive too. Would love for you to check them out!

This made learning so much easier. I should learn more after I master this song.
One of my favorite themes :)
Same!

Great tutorial, David! Nice pacing and explanation. Been watching your channel since 2011 and I'm glad to see you're still around.

took me 3 days to learn and to squeeze in this tutorial on my day. really helpful! thank you!
Thank you for making these videos! you are a leader in the ocarina niche! appreciate your content
Crazy you still make videos! I saw your Ocarina of Time video when I was ten and you are still making content. Keep going ❤
What a coincidence this came out as today was the first time I watched Lord of the rings 🙈
Nice! How did you like it?
@@DavidErickRamos It was an interesting concept, with really nice (yet tragic) music, such as the shire theme 😁

What's next? Howls moving castle?

Perfect for my sopranino 6 hole🎉
Thank you so much! This helped me with my cover :)

Can you do a tutorial on Harmony by Ian Taylor (RuneScape)
I don’t know that one, but I’ll be sure to look it up!
Thanks for taking the time. It’s a nostalgic classic.

Yep, I have ocarina sheet music for hundreds of songs available on my Patreon! Patreon.com/docjazz4
@@DavidErickRamos i spent all my money on my ocarina so i will have to wait on that

@@RazedParadiseoh shoot! I haven’t played my ocarina in a while you just reminded me! I need to start practicing again also thanks for the site!! ❤
6:18 for practicing the full song
Do you have the full version anywhere?
Is there any other way to pay for and get your book other than Patreon?
Great vid, do you have a tutorial on "the path of the wind" from Totoro? :)
Not yet, but that’s a great suggestion!
