Ross has been touring strong for years but only stopped due to the pandemic that just about sidelined everyone. However, you are right. She just doesn't come out and make appearances for just anyone. Her guest has to be of importance or deserving, like the Queen of England, Nelson Mandela, the former President of South Africa, and various other dignitaries that represents Japan, Norway, and Australia, that she performed for. While Beyonce is not quite in that category of importance, she is by far in the category of deserving. Ross realizes that she has been the reigning POP singer for years now, and it reminds her of how she ruled the 60s, 70s, and early 80s. Also, since she came to Diana's milestone 75th birthday party and wished her happy birthday, she being the Grand Diva, pleasant, respectful, and the kind soul that she is, only thought it was right to reciprocate and pay honor to the current Queen of Pop. However, don't get it twisted, Diana Ross is still the All-time Queen of Pop, and she still reigns Supreme! In the end, they both compliment each other and I think it's a beautiful thing! Ross is the epitome of Beauty, Determination, and Success in a dirty music business that will eat you up, and Beyonce is learning so that she will hopefully have that longevity. So far , Beyonce is winning the race.
In my opinion Lionel is a legend just like Diana. And she could do both because she’s still the Boss. Most of these legends have had to reinvent themselves now because the youngsters don’t know who they are. And the song Endless Love will always remain a classic. Ok. I was at this Lionel Ritchie concert at the United Center in Chicago. I dont think he meant any harm. We knew he was getting ready to introduce Endless Love. Everyone got excited and thought Diana Ross would run out on stage. It turned out to be a big joke . He put on great show. They are both legends . I love them both, their beef is between them .
