I'm learning violin and I wonder, is vibrato used so often in all pieces or just some of them?
Vibrato is used in any piece that you want to use it in. It's your own choice.
Hey guys, i'm trying to learn to shift positions, any tips? And how do i know when best to use it?
just play a lot of scales in shifting. you can play this piece almost all in first position. only shift if you're a beginner on the high notes which you can't get to if you don't shift. hope this helps.

What position you are playing? I see that the first note is D but don't see the open string ... I am new in this
So he starts off in 2nd position, but then shifts up and down multiple times so he's in different positions. In all honesty, once you learn all your positions, you can pick and choose which positions you want to use based off of how comfortable you feel using it.
