I needed this 2 weeks ago. You wouldn’t believe the sketchy setup I had to work with. This is exactly what I was dreaming of while I was rigging up this makeshift router guide.
Yeah a dado set it even faster. Freud sells an 8¼ by ⅞ set for around $100 at HD. It's incredibly well made any increment within a 64th of an inch from ¼-⅞. Also you can buy a half decent either table for the same price. They used to have the Ryobi router table from home Depot I really liked it but wish the top was a different material but it has metal legs. It's only $129 I think and it's a big table. I bought the Kobalt router and stand combo recently after losing the latter. The router sucks but the table is machined aluminium. It's less than 200. I finally got another 1617evs for only $35 at the pawn shop in new condition. Once I trade legs under that aluminum top it'll be an amazing match up. But hell checkout Home Depot's Husky work table that doubles as a router table. All you have to do is screw them out again underneath and get you a board or whatever as offense because it comes with the hardware to secure it to the table. It's probably my father the best. It's not that costly you can pop the legs off of it as it stands well over 3 ft tall it's 4 ft long about 2.5ft deep with brackets that you can add 2x4s on either side to extend the work area and it supports like 1500 lb. Plus all the little inserts for your router slot to change the diameter of the hole stores and locks underneath the table. It's a fantastic work table.
You can do the same thing by using two edge guides on any router as long as the attachment bars are long enough for both edge guides to be screwed tight
It is nuts, but it's like a lot of things: you're paying for what it allows you to do and the efficiency with which you can do it. For pros who earn their living with their tools, 400 bucks is a drop in the bucket.
@@TheLastPharmdoesnt matter. they are charging so much simply because they can. doubt it costs more the $15 for them to manufacture this. its a simple jig, so no insane r&d costs either.
Wonderful! Love the railing on the router! Would you share the name of the clamps used to lock the vertical board? I am building and MFT work bench, and I don't see that Festool has any thing works as well as those :-). Are they also 20mm?
I want the happiness at work that this man has.
And the tools. I want the tools too.
With all those tools it would be difficult not to be happy. Dream set up
Then become a sales manager like this man. Or, as youth call them now, influencer.
fantastic, this let u understand ur real potential
You got me in first half. I said fuck happiness I want the tools.
Go buy those tools !!
The financial blessing to have all these jigs- saws- attachments.

Didn’t use a table saw? Can easily be done on that

That router is what? Like a grand? Maybe more. That jig is probably a few hundo on top of that. Plus I'd imagine it's not universal knowing Festool.
@@jasoningram2006 over $400 for the lexan jig. Unless I’m missing something, you can accomplish the same with 2 edge guides, at $150 a piece.

i a huge festool junkie, own 10 of them. but over $400 for 4 pieces of plexiglass is nuts!

But for 3 pieces of plexiglass it's a steal!! 🙃🤣
Just make your own
@@aileronsintowind6835 Youre right ! I just looked on Amazon. Enough plexiglass can be bought (1/2 inch ) for about 50.00. A few knobs and youre set.
Nice!
What kit do you have for clamping and using dogs on that mft table
That’s a nice router jig. I’m to copy that idea and make my own.
I love that wood creaking noise.
Niiiice 👊💪🇨🇦
That’s a damn nice jig, I’ll bet I can make the wooden version in a couple hours.

It called Festool Trenching Template for OF Routers
@@saidmachochi1241 yes, but I meant the clamps on the workbench that you see in the beginning.
Those are in-line dog clamps from armor tools, and yes they are 20mm.
The right tools is key to success !!!
Yup and it's not called Festool.
Always blaming the tool😢😢😢

Hi. Where did you get the router guide? Thanks.
How do you determine wether to do stuff like this with a router vs a dadu in a saw?
Wow nice tools , only professionals can operate them with perfect results
I would love to sped a day in your workshop. Wonderful videos.
Hes just festool promoter. Dont bother
When I watch his videos. I feel like Jack Nicklaus as joker. "Where does he get such wonderful toys?"
Like a glove 🥊
Festool is a good source of ideas for making equally functional accessories for 5% of the price ;)
What if the bit is not the same thickness as the insert?
Could you have done this with the OF 1400 ?
Just use a table saw and fence. Use dado blade if you want to do it "fancy" in one pass.
I’m assuming you built this plexi jig? Some commentary would be nice 😊
Can you show us how to make that template
Приветствую. Подскажите пожалуйста. Как правильно называется это приспособление для изготовления пазов.?
Where can I buy a router jig like that?
Could anyone please educate me as to how this jig is better than just using 2 edge guides?
Love your videos ❤
Do you sell project of the upgrade for the router?
Is there a way to bookmark shorts?
I wish I had all those festool containers. I’ll take them even if they have nothing inside 😂😂
They are great for storing pretty much anything!
Like a glove
That is very cool.
What clamps are those???
красота,инструмента как будто в магазине специа лист хоть куда
Awesome 🎉thanks
I’m wondering why plates and guides are made out of acrylic and not aluminum. 🤔
is this router available in india?
perfect, I love it..🎉
Groovy!
Tools are a means to an end, not an end in themselves.
❤ the comment❤❤❤
what the clamp name?
Festool meilleur matériel ds le monde trooop forttttt
Good work bro I am Carpenter from india
You can do the same thing with datao blade in table saw 40 dollars
I can do the same thing with a dado stack in my table saw but once I get the $1200 router I’ll find excuses to use it too.
dishopee aidah masuk belum barang ginian😂
Nice lumber.
