getting stuck on a theme park ride is truly a unique experience... my family once got stuck on the pirates of the caribbean ride for over an hour. our boat was right next to the exit but we weren't allowed to disembark until the employees lashed the rafts together. there was a little kid in our boat who needed to pee and an employee told the parents to find an empty water bottle lol. my dad got a phone call from his boss and got promoted while we waited. they didn't turn the audio off either so were treated to a continuous soundtrack of gunshots and inebriated singing. the drunken yo-ho's are seared into my brain forever. fun times!
Yooo I got stuck on that ride for like an hour too! The power went out and it scared the hell out of me. Because of the power, some sort of mechanism failed for the people going down that one slope and they just kept going and bumped into another boat, I heard people scream and had no idea what was going on. The power came back on and the audio started up and animatronics kept moving, so were stuck by the jail scene and I hear those guys whistling for that dog in my nightmares
I got stuck on that ride once too. This was in like 2010 or something and I was just a kid at the time. Not too sure how long it was but it felt pretty long. The ride stopped right, literally *right* in front of the wall of mist (not sure if that's the best description of it, can't think of any other words). The sound and the projection were still going and we just... sat there, practically face to face with Davy Jones.
I once got stuck on splash mountain for close to an hour as well. Employees wouldn't let us leave, we were next to the big drop. They also did not cut the music and me and my family had to listen to the theme song and chuckles for so long that when i forgot about what ride it was we got stuck on 10 years later, my sister by some luck, chose splash mountain and I prayed the entire way up the waiting list for it to not stop again lmao. Also, i know the song by heart apparently. Also on the same trip I got stuck on splash mountain, I also got stuck on small world. I hated small world from the line as it blasts "Its a small world" the entire time and the wait so excruciatingly long so I had mastered the lyrics before even getting on the ride. When on the ride, I got stuck for onky ahout 30-ish minutes which isn't SUPER long but still really boring and I realized how scary those little kid animatronics really are
i also got stuck on that ride for about 30-45mins as a kid but in the scene where they're firing guns and cannons at each other. it was a nightmare to 8yo me who was sensitive to loud noises, violence, and thought there were actual cannonballs/bullets flying around. they only shut down the animatronics briefly toward the end, but they started up about 10 mins before we started moving again. i think of that every time i hear "pirates of the caribbean" lol😊
I feel so bad for all of them, but especially for the family with kids. I would be extremely livid if my kids were that scared and I had no way of getting to them to comfort them. I hope they got someone to listen in park management or something bc holy cow what a way to ruin a super expensive and what was supposed to be a fun vacation.
i feel like the employees were trained to deny & feign ignorance for liability issues, bc if they were to admit anything in the moment, disney would be liable & with denial, they can negotiate settlements way down. something like that. idk i'm not a lawyer. but i am glad everyone got out alive!
a lot of the time cast members (what disney call their employees) are very helpful in evacuations but there are times when they’re just straight up incompetent. chad’s experience reminds me of a situation where people were on splash mountain and the log began to sink and water was being let in, and for obvious reasons people were helping each other out of the ride, and yet the cm kept telling them to stay put and that getting out would be “dangerous” as if the water wasn’t literally rising to an alarming level. generally it’s understandable that you shouldn’t get out of the boat on a water ride because you could be electrocuted, but they were at a safe place to get out and they had no choice.
I got stuck on Rise of the Resistance in the pod, the screen glitched and then everything just stopped. Luckily we were already at the bottom of the elevator, but it took like half an hour for them to come and disable our seatbelts and we got to walk off the rest of the ride. Not a particularly interesting walkthrough, but it was ok. Also, the people getting us out stayed in character the whole time. It was hilarious. (Side note, when they shut the ride power off we fell like an inch and it made a really loud clicking sound and we all thought we were going to fall and die 🥰)

I’m SO GLAD everybody’s ok. I will say though, this entire story reminded me of Eugene and Arnold getting stuck on that rollercoaster in Hey Arnold. ESPECIALLY because the next ride stopped 😂
My family was once stuck on the Pirates of the Caribbean boat ride for like half an hour (maybe closer to 20 minutes idk it was awhile ago). We didn't have a blaring alarm thankfully but we did sit with the "wench auction" on repeat. Obviously we couldn't leave cuz, y'know, we were surrounded by water.
boat rides are the worst to get stuck on for that reason. the reason it took so long is likely because they had to evacuate other riders and deal with their boats too. often times they have to manually move them during a breakdown
Yeah those sorts of doombuggy rides (idk what the ride system is actually called I just call them that cuz of haunted mansion) tend to slow down or stop entirely relatively frequently to help people get on or off due to how it works. Fairly common for Haunted Mansion, Astro Blasters, and Ariel's Undersea Adventure to temporarily slow down for a bit or stop entirely. I've had my own handful of needing to evacuate Disney attractions though. Most memorable one was definitely when our boat on Jungle Cruise ran out of gas... they had to get one of the other boats to tow us back to the dock. And it was supposed to be my last ride of the night AND my phone was almost out of battery... not a good time. They gave me a fastpass ticket as comp but I wasn't about to use that. Pawned it off on my brother and went back to the hotel
@@quandaredevil In hindsight it's kind of interesting as a disney nerd cuz I got to hear the louder blanks the guns on the jungle cruise have to indicate "uh oh! problem" (as opposed to the quieter blanks they use during the ride itself). In the moment tho I was just tired and wanted to go home
As a child I thought every siren I heard was the fire department coming to get us, because they knew my house was on fire and I didn't. I can't imagine being in this scenario as a kid.
OK So first off that'd be my fucking nightmare! But also, that was funny as hell cutting off the clip with Jarvis just full belly laughing at Chad Chad 🤣🤣
had a friend who worked at disneyland, apparently rides breaking down is a very common occurrence that generally the employees are ready for. because it can and will happen at any moment, sometimes multiple times a day. on a lot of these rides they just use quick fix solutions because they don't want the ride to be closed when it can be avoided, that's lost revenue after all
oh my god, similar thing happened to me and my family when i was like 5 and we went to disneyland. it wasnt a disneyland ride i dont think, i think there was a park right outside of it with some other rides, and i think it was called the castle of terror or something like that but its basically one that you go up and down really fast on, and we got stuck at the top as well. thankfully there was this one man who I'll never forget who had to be the funniest guy I've ever met even to this day tbh. kept cracking jokes and making all of us laugh and i dont think anyone was panicking because the mood was so positive. where you are guy, thank you 🙏
I got stuck on space mountain once, it was pitch back, we were on a decline. I was having a major panic attack, and the seat belt was constricting so I couldn't breathe. Disney employees basically told us to walk it off and go buy some $20 water bottles.
I was recently on Guardians in EPCOT and during the teleportation preshow a hammer fell from the ceiling and landed where I was previously standing. Thankfully I had been on it before and already moved to the exit doors, however they just opened the alternate exit and rushed people through. Given how nonchalantly they treated that potentially lethal situation, I can see how something like this would happen.
SUE THEM. I work at a casino and they freak out when people get stuck in elevators for more than 10 minutes because it can be a lawsuit. "You can sue for being stuck if you reasonably suffered from a physical injury or emotional distress. " PTSD. anxiety, small space. Get that bag.
Disney goes to the greatest lengths to maintain the "happiest place on earth" title. They have to be positive all the time. They also get very upset if you take pictures of rides that shut down while you were on them for whatever reason. Basically, they invented gaslighting.
A few years ago my mom and I went to Universal Studios. We were on the little cart tour ride and when we got off it was raining and she slipped and fell. She fell so hard on her but that she cracked her phone and she couldn’t get up. finally security got to us and took us to the Medical Center. on the way there, the security told us that we could sue if we’d like and we could file formal complaints. My mom and I are poor so we were like no lol like we don’t have time or money to sue, so the security told us that we could at least ask for a reimbursement for our cell phone. My mom did just that and she actually ended up getting more money than the phone was worth which meant she was able to upgrade to like a really nice phone as well as have like extra cash I don’t think it’s very hard to show you care to the patrons of the park by just doing bare minimum things like checking up on them asking if they’re OK and taking them to a medical center.
I love that Amanda from swell and chad chad are friends, of course they are. Seems like everyone I like also happen to be know each other and be friends
I got stuck on a ride in the animal kingdom for 10 minutes and they gave us ride vouchers. Not compensating them or even taking them seriously when injured suckss
This happened to my dad! He was stuck at the highest point at an incline, and he was stuck in the pod for an hour and 15 minutes. His screen went blue (like the computer screen malfunctioned). There were kids in his pod that were terrified, and I was witnessing the parents that were outside the ride panic. It was for reals traumatizing.
Never thought the crossover between my favorite maker RUclipsrs Evan and Katelyn and my favorite social commentary RUclipsrs would be when they almost died together at Disney??? What the actual fuck?
When I was at Disneyland in, like, 2006 or 2007, it was Christmas time and there was a fire started by the giant Christmas tree in their on-site hotel. They made us wait outside in sub-freezing temps - many of us without shoes, and dressed very much for a room with indoor heating - for like two hours before they finally let us into the lobby of the nearby theater. Some people had full-blown hypothermia. Paramedics had to bring in, like, tons of those foil emergency blankets for everyone. It went on so long that the Aladdin cast started doing their morning rehearsal, and very kindly let us sit in on it. We weren’t let back into the hotel for, like, 6 hours. Core childhood memory right there.

This is wild. You always here Disney stories about how the company will go above and beyond with damage control and offer people special things I. Exchange for having to go through stuff like this. Guess those are famous stories bc it’s so rare.
The only reason I could see NOT having an emergency button for things on the pods is so kids and stuff cant run around pulling fire alarms and the like, but theres a REASON those sorts of measures exist in the first place.
No ability to undo the seatbelt and open the door in case of emergency is a huge problem, I can think of a number of scenarios where that would be potentially deadly. Don't get me started on 'theres no one in the pods' while the pod people are actively trying to contact you.
isnt disney like, at capacity almost every day, it doesnt suprise me there would be issues with the rides so often. Thats terrifying though and you would have hoped rides would have to pass some safety inspection that includes emergency exit strategies for passengers

getting stuck on a theme park ride is truly a unique experience... my family once got stuck on the pirates of the caribbean ride for over an hour. our boat was right next to the exit but we weren't allowed to disembark until the employees lashed the rafts together. there was a little kid in our boat who needed to pee and an employee told the parents to find an empty water bottle lol. my dad got a phone call from his boss and got promoted while we waited. they didn't turn the audio off either so were treated to a continuous soundtrack of gunshots and inebriated singing. the drunken yo-ho's are seared into my brain forever.
Knowing Chad Chad was in a group trip with Evan and Katelyn and Amanda from Swell Entertainment is such a weird sight
Yeah, but honestly I wonder if swell will make a video on this. Would definitely be a interesting video
i was thinking this too
I feel so bad for all of them, but especially for the family with kids.
The smooth jazz music in the background of this podcast while Chad Chad is talking about how she was trapped in this horrible situation is very funny
a lot of the time cast members (what disney call their employees) are very helpful in evacuations but there are times when they’re just straight up incompetent. chad’s experience reminds me of a situation where people were on splash mountain and the log began to sink and water was being let in, and for obvious reasons people were helping each other out of the ride, and yet the cm kept telling them to stay put and that getting out would be “dangerous” as if the water wasn’t literally rising to an alarming level. generally it’s understandable that you shouldn’t get out of the boat on a water ride because you could be electrocuted, but they were at a safe place to get out and they had no choice.
RIP chad chad, you will be missed
Please don't scare me like that
Oh, she's dead now?

poor chad chad
listening to this part made me scared LOL. i'd probably cry
I loved that they stayed in character!
Is Rise of the Resistance like uniquely bad engineering? Can’t believe that this happened to this many prople
So this isn't even the first time this has happened??? Jeez Disney, get your shit together
@@supernovaxs9480 rise of the resistance is a different ride then the one Chad Chad is talking about in the video, Chad Chad is talking about Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run. They are both Star Wars rides though.
@@madisonsurly-oz8wy rides stop a lot at Disney it just isn’t very newsworthy cuz people thankfully don’t get injured but this comment & Chad Chad are talking about different rides.
Omg I would’ve had a panic attack. If there was a real fire chad chad and the other people stuck would’ve died! Disney should’ve comped them
I mean she said they smelled smoke, so there probably WAS a real fire. Which is...terrifying
She didn't say that they smelled smoke tho
@@blubblubblubblubblubblubshe did
@@madisonsurly-oz8wy no she said "what we're gonna do IF we start to smell smoke." they didnt actually smell smoke
2023 has taught us nobody should be sealed into a pod from the outside
That ride is a death trap, how the hell did it pass the safety inspections? Someone needs to do something.
The pods are fireproof, so it would be safer if they stayed inside. But they should deff change the alarm to something calmer like "dont panic, the pods are fireproof, we will be with you shortly" or smt instead of "ALARM THIS IS NOT A DRILL EVACUATE IMMEDIATLY"
Ooooh disney lawsuit disney lawsuit. The fact that they evacuated without clearing ACTIVE RIDERS is terrifying. Then DENYING YOU WHEN TOLD YOU WERE TRAPPED??? Like thats gotta be grounds for a lawsuit. Fear for personal safety, fear of injury, being held against your will and being told you weren't, ridiculous number of safety concerns here.
As horrifying as this is, I got really excited hearing Evan and katelyn be mentioned!! I’m a huge fan of both chad chad, Jarvis and Jordan’s content and theirs so it felt like a crossover. Same with when ethan Nestor went on here
I’m SO GLAD everybody’s ok.
As a former Disney employee, this sounds about right 😭
The screen turns off and suddenly, you're carbon frozen inside Disneys brand new ride and shipped to a slug crime lord.
Oh my god it's Swell!
the Swell Entertainment cameo LMAO
Amanda is EVERYWHERE
i learned the buzz lightyear ride usually stops so that they can load guests that use wheelchairs and similar things btw, that’s super common
@@YlimegirlCoolI’ve heard of situations with jungle cruise similar to yours and god it sucks. I’m glad y’all made it out okay
OK
So first off that'd be my fucking nightmare!
But also, that was funny as hell cutting off the clip with Jarvis just full belly laughing at Chad Chad 🤣🤣
Oh lord, Disney is notorious for people getting stuck on rides. What a nightmare experience!
had a friend who worked at disneyland, apparently rides breaking down is a very common occurrence that generally the employees are ready for. because it can and will happen at any moment, sometimes multiple times a day. on a lot of these rides they just use quick fix solutions because they don't want the ride to be closed when it can be avoided, that's lost revenue after all
oh my god, similar thing happened to me and my family when i was like 5 and we went to disneyland. it wasnt a disneyland ride i dont think, i think there was a park right outside of it with some other rides, and i think it was called the castle of terror or something like that but its basically one that you go up and down really fast on, and we got stuck at the top as well. thankfully there was this one man who I'll never forget who had to be the funniest guy I've ever met even to this day tbh. kept cracking jokes and making all of us laugh and i dont think anyone was panicking because the mood was so positive. where you are guy, thank you 🙏
Oh you're talking about Tower of Terror! I loved that ride when I was younger
I got stuck on space mountain once, it was pitch back, we were on a decline. I was having a major panic attack, and the seat belt was constricting so I couldn't breathe. Disney employees basically told us to walk it off and go buy some $20 water bottles.
space mountain is probably one of the worst ones to be stuck in, it's so claustrophobic as is
not to distract from the story but the yellow pillow makes it look like there are spaghetti coming out of jarvis' shirt
PTSD. anxiety, small space. Get that bag.
that sounds absolutely terrifying damn
dam disney be turnin into the backrooms 💀
LMAO “I LOST MY LICENSE” HAS NO RIGHT TO BE THAT FUNNY
I’m crying, that is the fire alarm that they use for my college dorms lmao
oh shit swells there 2, glad everyones alright
One time in Disneyworld, I managed to get evacuated off of Pirates of the Caribbean, Soarin', and Test Track in one day
I think it’s neat that y’all are just like, homies with Chad Chad. we Stan public displays of platonic friendships between genders
Love the light jazz in the background of the clips lol
the mickey mouse ninjas were after her

Always a w day when Sad Boyz uploads 💪
This happened to my dad! He was stuck at the highest point at an incline, and he was stuck in the pod for an hour and 15 minutes. His screen went blue (like the computer screen malfunctioned). There were kids in his pod that were terrified, and I was witnessing the parents that were outside the ride panic. It was for reals traumatizing.
Never thought the crossover between my favorite maker RUclipsrs Evan and Katelyn and my favorite social commentary RUclipsrs would be when they almost died together at Disney??? What the actual fuck?
I really hope Swell does a video on this!!
im so excited to see amanda's video on this
was about to comment the same thing lmao
4:29 But I want to know more about Keith lol.
WHAT HAPPENED TO KEITH
RIP
Some say he's still there, haunting the pod like a force ghost
This is irrelevant, but the evan and katelyn shoutout made me so happy, i like when all my fav youtubers acknowledge eachother LOL
Swell Entertainment cameo 😂
This sounds like something off of Fascinating Horror lol
Was that Amanda from swell entertainment?
that's genuinely terrifying
yikes that sounds terrifying. the employees also sounded totally unprofessional.
y’all should watch the full thing all of chad’s story’s of this trip are insane
Former cast member narrator voice (in response to Jordan hoping the rides breaking down is rare): “it was not rare.”
Real talk batuu struggles to run well and I could not tell you why
This not how cast member usually/are supposed to act. If you report it, they could probably get fired
This is wild. You always here Disney stories about how the company will go above and beyond with damage control and offer people special things I. Exchange for having to go through stuff like this. Guess those are famous stories bc it’s so rare.
I’m so confused by the title but I’m so here for anything Chad Chad 😂💖
SWELL ENTERTAINMENT? WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE GIRLIE??
I would be scared I would die, have a fucking heart attack and just cry if that happened to me
Awwwnn I love Evan, Katelyn and Amanda. Surprise cameo
Omg my friends were trapped on that same ride!! They sent me snaps the whole time, but also as Dianey AdultsTM who literally go multiple times per month, they are veeeeeery used to getting stuck on the rides, especially the dark rides 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Question... Did anyone tey hitting the control panel with their fist? That usually works for Han Solo.
I love that Chad Chad is friends with Evan and Katelyn
them lying is so crazy what the actual hell
AWWW, poor amanda got stuck as well?! Nooo!
I have a feeling Chad Chad is not going back to Disney anytime soon 💀 this is literally my worst nightmare
Omg im about to go to Disney and am having a legitimate panic moment just listening to this.
SWELL ENTERTAINMENT’S MET EVAN AND KAITLYN?.?
I don't think this is exceptionally rare, both times I've gone to Disney the ride stopped working while we were on it. Neither were as bad as this and we only had to be evacuated from one, but it's crazy it happened both times.
No way Evan and Katelyn and Jarvis and Jordan and Chad Chad all in one video!! In the most.. interesting... crossover ever! Lol
Im literaly watching this 5 minutes before i go on the actual ride...
Does everyone know Evan and Katelyn? I just saw them on Swell's channel after they invited her to Open Sauce. They even designed the cat litter box I use 🤔
I love evan and katelyn!
Jesus Christ, I was getting anxiety listening to this
Jordan dressed like Peter Faily Guy
Evan knows swell? My stars ✨
