I live in Downtown Portland. It is finally coming back! I am so happy to see my downtown emerging from the horrible year it went through. A lot of work still needs to be done, but many things have reopened, lots of boards came down from windows, and foot traffic has really jumped. Downtown has been cleaned up significantly too. I think a year from now it will be back to normal. I have hope for my city again.

@@annaita2001 Double Tree your going to have to Uber/ Lyft everywhere, I drive Uber/Lyft and pick people up there all the time. You could jump on a Max train but that can be sketchy sometimes, could be different I haven't ridden it in years. All the hotels I recommended, aside from Residence Inn and Hyatt the are in the heart of downtown which means equal access to just about everything and no need for a ride unless you are tired or going to SE, N, or NE side. Easy access to Powell's, NW 21ST/ 23RD, Pearl district, Washington Park etc.
@@evanpatten4101 Thank you , you live in Portland ? I am planning to be there september , 8 . Dont wanting to rent a car , just tired to drive in GA, will use taxi or transportation . Are you providing taxi service ?

1:07 but Oregon had no tax, what has changed?
When I lived in the Mississippi Corridor back in the late 90's, it was the edge of the inner city, they started gentrifying there in early 1998, now the hipsters have taken over and displaced most of the generations of Minorities.
People post vacation pics in lunchroom at work (100+ employees) there's a picture of a guy in plain view at Portlands waterfront taking a crap.
How hard would it have been to ask one of the locals "how do you pronounce Willamette and Sacagawea ?"
Is it just me or did that dude randomly Flip you the bird while you were recording at 18:07
who drew on the lewis and clark monument OMG!!!!!
The Water front NOT full of homeless people? That’s been a staple of Portland my entire life! I was born there!
Portland does not include Vancouver! Ps: it is pronounced "WILL-AM-IT" (willamette river)
Portland Native here,.. there's also a competition in Old Town where you attempt to walk an entire city block without stepping on human feces or an OD'd body.
