I could relate to your closing statement. I've wondered if the cost of there not being another McKenna style "stoned ape" period is that climate change leads to further mental health challenges, and civility becomes fragile due to scarcity and uncertainty. It may sound morbid, but I use plant medicine to help accept that climate change will be disruptive and destructive. I started using them that way after reading about some of the studies using mushrooms for end of life patients. Given where society is currently (at least in the US), we need a collective shift to think beyond old paradigms and beliefs to tackle future challenges. Psychedelics can facilitate such a shift.

I had 2 negative experiences with shrooms in the past 2 years, took it in an unfamiliar setting with strangers. This weekend I took it with my BF as my trip sitter and let me tell you: I saw the most beautiful things inside me. I've been depressed since I was 11, I didn't remember what it felt like to not hate myself. And now I can say with pride that I do love myself. I saw light inside of me, compassion, hope, things I had no idea were a part of me. I have found I am not only my dark side, and I'm thankful to psilocybin.
I 100% am not the same person anymore...and that's wonderful.

Once psychedelics make it into mental health treatment, and heal people as much in 1 session as in 10 years of talking with a therapist, the results will speak for themselves and it will start rolling like a snowball. Controversial to say, but I think psychedelics is the only thing that can save humanity from all the self-centered bullshit we're currently stuck in, like how else are you going to make 8 billion people aware of the ego and all the pitfalls, make everyone meditate for 1 year with monks?

Hello Lin, two things that worked well for a bout of anxiety i got recently are:
      - ensuring you get around 4500mg of potassium through fruit and vegetables every day (most people are deficient, and it can cause anxiety and tachycardia). After a week i was noticeably calmer.
      - try box breathing for 10 minutes, it removes around 10-20 bpms for my heart.

This is exactly how I feel but you explain it so much better that I could. This is how much I changed.
Just over a year a ago,I watched a film called the game changers ( highly recommend anyone to watch), and as someone who’s always been interested in health and my appearance I thought I’d give it a go. It was something that I was going to find extremely difficult as I’ve never enjoyed vegetables, but went for it anyway. I’ve stuck to it and since starting my microdose I find I feel so much more compassion to animals it actually makes me upset, that others won’t take the time to watch the film, because they literally know they will see things differently. I’m not saying for one minute I want people to change there diets, but instead just know the facts, And make your own decision. I feel like I’ve had that pill from the matrix and woken up.
I apologise for my bad grammar and spelling it’s never been a strong point.

I definitely do. I'm not sure how old you are, but it looks we have about the same age. I say that because many discoveries you share about your own life seem aligned with discoveries I've been making here in my life. I'm sure many other followers would corroborate that perception with regards to their own experiences as they grow too. It's quite comforting to find people with equivalent backgrounds and compatible views about how things could be and how psychedelics fit in that schema. I've been through a lot of ups and downs with depression and, to make a long story short, psychedelics became a kind of last resort for me, together with a whole strategy that includes meditation, ketogenic diet, intermittent fasting, journaling, psychotherapy, physical exercises and more. Lasting, significant, positive personality change is where the mushrooms come in, as I hope. Your content and influence have been quintessential in my quest for self-actualization. Thanks a lot and, once again, congrats on your video!

Hi Julianne. First off I just want to say how much I appreciate you, the education and personal experiences that you provide to our world wide community. I’ve never been a person that liked the idea of taking pills. And of course I have taken prescription pills for my mental health prescribed by my doctor for my depression and anxiety. But it always bothered me. And fast forward in life when I became a nurse, I saw what addiction and drugs can do to people and the negative affects of it all. Holistic healing and natural resources have always been a interest to me since discussing them in nursing school. Because of past experiences in my life that have left scaring, pain, and hurt and a feeling that I have lost a part of me that I miss and desperately want back, I made the decision to try psychedelic mushrooms. Your journey, the research and information you’ve given has truly been an inspiration to me and has given me the courage to take this step. I have told a couple of very close friends who I trusted and thought would support me in this, but it didn’t go well with them. I explained to them the safety of this method and that this wasn’t some method of getting high. I explained this was a method to try and possibly regain a part of me that I lost and possibly gain more. Maybe look at life in ways I never have. I have never been a person that has done street drugs. I’ve never even smoke cigarettes. It just surprised me that when I mentioned I wanted to try this, my support in life abandoned me and treated me like I was this druggy trying to get high and escape life or somehow take the easy way out. So again I appreciate you and the education you have passed on.

Big 5 Openness correlates strongly with Jung's function of Intuition (for example in the MBTI). I find calling it Intuition instead of Openness is a lot clearer: it's a function of direct perception and a source of creativity, of seeing what otherwise can't be see with reason or the senses. Hence by opening that function you're able to solve inner problems which are otherwise inaccessible...That's Jung from the 1920's, imagine what he'd know if he had shrooms!

Can’t find ur reply to reply back too anymore. But yeah; I agree with what you just said about economics and monopoly busting. I assume that goes without saying because the only political ideology that suggests otherwise is anarcho-capitalist level libertarians which is pretty rare. Even the right wings favorite celebrity economists like Friedman, Sowell, Manikew, etc. all agree with what you said.
You suggested you were annoyed at my comment. I’m super chill rn making (for me) fun conversation. Maybe you assumed a tone that wasn’t there which is why text is a crappy form of communication.

Bob Marley, Martin Luther King, the Dali Lama and a whole ton of people throughout history and time share the same ideas as you, so don’t be embarrassed. It’s humanitarianism 101 to see people and (animals too 🐹) as innately divine & valuable. It is difficult to see people angry and divided (because) I came into this world with my DNA set for idealism, and the world was not always that way, but many people were. I have had both life changing mystical experiences and life changing traumas, so thankfully have the understanding that if I’m under water, in my shadows and wounds, there is always a way back to my inner sanctuary.
That is priority number #1, and my first job to have a positive impact on the world in a way that is true to my gifts and nature 🌱🍄🌱

Great video, thank you for putting content like this out in the world. I believe that the human race would be much better off if we all were more educated and aware of the psychedelic. The commentary on contempt at 10:00 is absolutely beautifully worded. I’ve spent the entirety of my life trying to not give up on the world we live in, it’s difficult to happily live in a society that actively represses thought of this manner and I find some solace in seeing so many others who feel the same disconnect. I actually have the option and opportunity to “drop out” of society if I decide to, because my dad has built a community of like minded people who want away from it all. I’m lucky that I’ve got a family aware enough to create safe spaces away from society. But I haven’t left, and don’t intend to, because I feel that I can contribute my own experiences to others who are still lost in the web of mother culture and haven’t found meaning for themselves yet. Ultimately our society is not going to change course (currently headed directly towards disaster) unless a widespread awakening of psychedelic thought occurs, I can’t realistically expect that to happen but until that day comes I’m going to continue to do my best to spread positivity and share my experiences with anyone who is looking to make a change in their life

I've just ingested my first mushroom in 49 years, will follow up with your "How to Trip Alone" video. My fresh (just picked) golden teacher fruit, 11 grams (wet/fresh equive to maybe 1gram dry? But very blue with handling) cut up in an egg scramble, tasty. I sampled a small nibble as I added to the pan. Wasn't bad (in small amount), tasted like...mushrooms. I do hope your foray into our societies increased polarization doesn't turn off the less "open" folks, don't worry it won't make you a Democrat, but maybe you'll understand others, in knowing yourself.

I've grown into someone who doesn't want to change people. I've seen many people who want to "change the world". They want to change "society". They have an ideology, and they want to win over the masses to their ideology, to make over society to match their vision. Many institutions have become controlled by people who chose to have careers in those institutions specifically in order to advance their ideology.
I've become more and more convinced that the right way to live is to find freedom, to be authentic, to learn to truly enjoy life, to do honest work that people value (hint: if people pay you good money to do something, it's because they really value what you are doing for them), to learn some things about this universe and the things in it, and to make new life (raise children) if you can (because life is worth continuing, and none of us is immortal yet).

I'm also interested in personality psychology. I've read quite a few books and research articles on it. I wish I still had the access to psychology journals that I had when I was a university student.
I'm in the normal range on 4 out of the 5 personality traits, but I'm extremely introverted. I like introverts, and we're sometimes misunderstood by extraverts. But, being very introverted sometimes introduces a little difficulty into the romantic part of life with women. Some girls are convinced that they just cannot accept a guy who is an introvert, including girls who are introverts themselves! I believe they are mistaken, but this is a topic that I have to be very careful about, to avoid being rejected by a girl I like for the wrong reason, which definitely has happened a few times.
Anyway, I've liked listening to your reports on the effects that psilocybin and LSD have had in your life. I haven't used any psychedelics myself, but I might try psilocybin mushrooms sometime.

If people are concerned about legalities they can legal work with plan medicines as both of these places are considered a church. Thus, they fall under the US constitution of freedom of religion and therefore can offer these plant medicines legally.

Hi Julianne, recently found your channel and just watched another video.
You have such a beautiful soul and such a beautiful, wise and loving / “all is good” / no judgement way of speaking.
Thanks so much for speaking up. You are an inspiration and also you are a mirror for parts in me that I would like to express more and more.
I’m curious to starting microdosing myself. Or have a full on psychedelics experience some time; although I don’t know yet if I can overcome the challenge of completely letting go of control 😅.
    Sending you love ❤️
