Really thankful for this much needed tutorial... The thing I wanted to confirm is what units we have to select if we have used FPS units in AutoCAD...?
what if i have 2 defrint story layout in the same building how i could be sure that all column in all the stores have the same location and the same zero and zero ? and dose the center line of bean must intersect with the column center point ? thanks
Sir, I hive a problem of importing from CAD dxf file to etabs 2017 When I click DXF file of architecture plan. To not show plan in my etabs2017... Please give me solution..🙏
Nice video. You got a subscriber. Which line of beam should be delete? Inner or outer? And what if two different width beam is resting on one column, then which beam line should consider?
Making single line to ensure intersecting beam lines will have same joint where columns will be located. You can delete inner line to get longer length for the slab. We can assign different sections as per variation of widths or depths later on these lines.
how can you shift columns to adjust with the beam? I think beams must be shifted to adjust with columns. If you shift columns, you unknowingly increase the size of the building which is not permitted considering the FSI and plot rules and all that.
It is just for modelling and analysis purpose..... because if you place column in center ... column will have infinite stiffness but if provided at edge some Bending Moment will reduce in beam......but in actual construction column will be as it is like you are telling.........pls do check my review whether it is correct or not........
What if i want to see an elevation in etabs for such model? Bcz in order to see column reinforcement, we need to switch to elevation view as it is quite hard in 3D. So is there any way in such kind of model to see the elevation view.
Yes, if we keep double line for beam, then we have to select the option with center line. But that is difficult for matching column beam joints. That's why plan has been prepared with single line before importing.
For a beam in 3D there is length, width and depth. the center line of the beam would therefore run center of the width of the beam, so that if a beam has a width 300mm, center line would therefore be at 150mm.
Really awesome make more such videos of tricks and tips in etabs ❤️
many many thanks brother .for the video .
Sir plz make more tutorial on this topic on big plan. Considering actual process not time saving. 👍👍👌👌👌
can you demonstrate how to import complex shear wall shapes from autocad to etabs. many thanks for you educational videos

Yes, that's very important. We have to choose same unit as used in Autocad.

thank you very much
The curved beam portion. Do we need to divide it into small peace's in AutoCAD itself to get straight lines.? As etabs cannot deisgn curved beams?
What about the slab? Do we need to model it manually or we can model it also in one click?

Can you please help regarding the elevation for the same.

Better option is to take centre line from the double line

We can create elevation view by selecting a joint in Etabs.
What is the name of the music in back ground
Hi when i followed this procedure beams become bottom. Can you please explain why.
Sir, we should import centre line plan
Yes, if we keep double line for beam, then we have to select the option with center line. But that is difficult for matching column beam joints. That's why plan has been prepared with single line before importing.
if you model like this way , the program will give you unsafe sections for beam and columns when you analise the model
I didn't find anything like that. If you are logical then, there should not be any import option! Isn't it?
Sir , Etab se pair architectural drawings kaise delete hota hain. Please is pi aik vedio bana d
Not showing in etabs what to do
how to delete architectural layers in etabs??
I think it would be better, safer to work with a centre line for the beams, that way one will not get confused when modelling beams in etabs
More better will be not to import. I named it as ''time saving'' that means how much shortcut we can go for modeling. You can choose your way.
DECODE BD I do not deny your way is time-saving, I believe you would have more accurate results by considering centre line. Sorry if I offended you.
Simon Ngugi can u explain center line ? Im new to etabs thank u.

Okay thank u sir.
