Mark, like you, I worked on my chipping and I've gone from near head case to actually good - it took hundreds of hours to beat the brain into submission and re-build my confidence. I'm now focusing on putting - working on my mechanics on 4-footers, and then 8 foot left to rights & right to lefts until my brain hurts. Scratch is only a few shots away.
I love these videos. So much needed insight. Nobody is doing these tours of videos. Please keep them coming. We need in a week Terri would be a treat. Thanks
I really enjoy these " breaking.." videos, even as a high handicapper I learn so much course management from watching them.... i just seem to forget it when I get on the course !
Back in the mid 1980's were my best years. I shot mid 70's most the time for scores and then during that time shot 2 - 69 scores with my Dad and friends. It was fun playing golf back in those days.
Best video to date…!! Absolute class content, more of this please guys, opens your eyes to what can be achieved with the right mentality taking on different shots.
Agree given that one form of golf is a game of scoring as low as possible. More content on how to do that would be great. Especially during the UK competition season.
I am always doing what coach did play good all game and blow out the last hole or two, I float in between 8 to 11 and have played off #7 but injuries are my biggest challenge haven't played in about 5 weeks 👍
Have not collected stats and really should start as you say to lower my scores. Will do it when I get out more often, until then, its just fun guessing....
I enjoy the vids when you get randoms of different handicaps on. Think it's beneficial to let them crack on front 9 and then give them guidance on course management on the back. Would be keen in you fancy coming to Woodbury and do a pilot episode with me 👀
I had never broken 70 before but I have now done it twice in the past 10 days. I hope I can continue at this level and it’s not a never to be returned peek 🤪
Only got close twice to playing actual par, without my handicap taken into account. Both times managed to throw it all away on just 2 holes in each round, going from +1 to +6 in both occasions. I should have been happy with my rounds but I was absolutely gutted at the time
Hahaha mate I feel your pain. My best round still got his day is +3. I was -1 with 3 to play. Bogie on 16 bogie on 17 then 18 is a short water par 3. Put two in the water off the tee then knocked my third tee shot to 1ft for a tap in double. Won the comp that day and have never felt worse after a round 😂 still burns me to this day.
This has been a great series of videos. Regularly shooting 74-80, so the realisation of what is needed for the next level is really helpful. One negative, the amount of adverts on this video was almost unbearable. Not sure why there was so many, not had many issues in previous videos
Great vid. As a shotscope user these insights are really useful and great to get today’s update for SG so that we can compare to handicap banding. I was tired of just using tour players stats!
My best round ever was a 68 on a par 67 course. Put first tee shot straight over the fence then played the next ball 1 under. Have gotten as low a 3 under in a few rounds but never finished a full 18 under par yet due to silly little mistakes. Working on the issues with the goal of shooting par or better eventually.
Yesterday I went 4 under through 6 on the par 65 course I live on. Then I fell apart. A few days before it went the other way. I blew the first 4 holes in a row badly, then woke up and ended up 2 over. If you shot a 68 there, you'll break par soon enough. Good luck.
Thanks for all the good tips. Curious about the thing on the flag what the name of this item is. Very cool that you don't have to bend over to get the ball out of the cup. For those of us with bad backs this would be great. Thanks
Another great insightful video gents. Looking forward to seeing more vlogs from courses around the world when you can travel again. Feeling another #LD coming
I'm trying to break 90 more often than I do at the moment. Great video Mark and Coach, golf is frustrating. You think you've got it then it bites you back.
I love the stats and record mine on every round, the trouble comparing it with tour players, on something like GIR is that some of the greens on the courses that they play are so large that they must have their own post code. That said, if I was playing their courses my putts per GIR would probably double :)
My approach play is woeful. My GIR stat is horrendous. I need work on my iron and wedges but ultimately I think I just need to build up at the gym a bit and gain a few more yards off the tee so I’m not leaving myself 4/5/6 irons in all the time
I hit wedges 10-1 over any other clubs in practice and inside 165 (7i and down) probably 50-1 because that's where I have to make up strokes considering my max 275 average 260 drives.
First it's 100, then 90, 80, then par. Are we never satisfied? 😂 I've gotten a few tastes of breaking par and ... I L I K E I T !! And I want more. Gimme more!!! Oh, and keep the vids coming guys. Loving them.
If coach would have left his cap backwards (good ol’ rally cap) he would have made that putt! 😁 These are some of my favorite videos…love the course management with stats!!! Thank you guys!!!
Needed this today, not good enough to get near 70 yet but your vids are keeping me so interested in playing golf! Started up this year, my next stage is a driver fitting. Loving the vids brah keep on making me want to get out on the course ⛳️
Another great video chaps👍🏻 The one thing I am not convinced with Mark is the “visiting the gym” thing. I say that because, without being rude, Coach Lockey is definitely not a gym visitor but is able to hit the ball further than most. Is it more a timing/practice issue or am I missing something 🤔
currently trying to break 100 with 12 year old slazenger clubs... got fitted last weekend with a guy in Southampton and i should start seeing my score drop. i do get the low scores sometimes but most of the time not.
Getting lower on a weekly / monthly basis. I’d love to be consistently under 90, but my skill set won’t let it happen. However do you get points for trying???
Use to be able to go 2 or 3 rounds without 3 putting... moved to a new course and can't get use to the green speeds. Now it's like 3-5 3 puts a round lol I've shot 80 with 37 putts >
1 handicapper I practice a lot more than I play. The only time I step on a golf course is where I play off whites. Either singles or doubles competition or where I play for the team. In practice I spend 90% of my time on putting, chipping, bunker and pitch shots. Full pitch shots from 100 yards. Pro told me once count all my shots from 100 yards or less . Try and score 36. When I break 70 I always take 36 shots or less from 100 yards. I have been +1 but that’s only playing my own course. If I only put in away scores from scratch competitions I’d probably be off 3-5 handicap.
to take presure off me i alway think the hole is a par 4 is par 6 subject to SI (stroke index and hadicap) it gives me more room if needed, but i do need to push more but keeping it close or inplay is hard somtimes get me into trouble!!! do PAT PAT or do PUSH i am learning witch is my hardest holes but its putting in stratagies to give me a chance 🤔
Guys, it’s June, not November!! Perhaps another visit to B&B on the cards, bit more wind to blow that stubble off😄. I sometimes try to use slopes on greens but normally it doesn’t work, usually hit too hard and it goes over the slope so then left with a quick putt back down the slope, don’t have the required skills.
I think the next step after 'Break 80' should be 'Break 75' I would break 80 a fairly often throughout the season (7 handicap) but 75 is tough. Closest has been 76 this year, 79 last year.
I've found that one must get comfortable with their driver - you need to be hitting you FIR, and also as you say be comfortable with aggression. In this regard you need to practice bunker shots so that you don't fear bunkers around the green. Also, putting (duh) - a couple of hours a month with a repeatable set up is essential for confidence. One needs to be confident that their putting stroke repeatably hits the ball on the centre of the putter face. I see too many guys I play with pulling or pushing the putt, or stand there at address like a deer in the headlights hoping and praying that by some miracle their putt might go in. When I am at address I have complete confidence in my green reading, and that my ball will roll over my chosen spot because I spend a lot of time practicing a repeated putting stroke - my grip, my feet, ball position is in the exact same position every single time. 32 putt per round average.
The par 3 where coach stiffs the 6 iron to 12ft. Coach takes a divot, mark sweeps it. Can you do a video on the importance of divot taking, and is it needed. As this is a part of the game which baffles me. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I have never been much of a divot player. I tend to use loft through impact where Matt takes loft of loft off causing his divot. This pattern is not the same for all golfers. Do not worry about it bruh.
Par three is a chance to make par, if played well. A birdie is allways a bonus on a par-3. However, on par-3’s the two’s are a competition for old hags in the expat world, cause they’re the only ones, where luck plays a big role.
It would be great if you could post all those stats in your words above. That way don't have to search the video again to find them. It is a great video but would be nice for you to summarize the stats above to break 70. :)

Respect on the topic! You have a boat load of breaking 100, 90 and 80 articles - And videos as well. This clip is gold!

I really love the use of stats with the mental part of the game as well as the emotional parts of the game. Really great reference video!
You truly have the best golf content, I hope you gain double the viewers. You deserve it.
One of my favorite videos i have seen on this channel 🔥
Agree given that one form of golf is a game of scoring as low as possible. More content on how to do that would be great. Especially during the UK competition season.
This is great advice. I loved the Tiger quote about being aggressive to your spots. I’m gonna try it today!
A brilliant set of vlogs guys they have been fun to watch and learn and if theres one thing with this game is you just never stop learning.
i enjoyed a nice 78 with like 40 putts today THANK you!!! lol 4 putt for the first time ever lol
I love this type of video!! It is so helpful!
What a brilliant video. Definitely worth a rewatch ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
What a great message to put out there, love the on screen stats that let me pause and evaluate.
Thanks Mark and Coach ☺️
Great video chaps, the whole series has been very insightful and original. You guys are raising the bar again.
Great course management advice for us all. Thanks
We see Mark Crossfield and we click! Love it!👍
A lot of beautiful references to the DECADE way of getting around the golf course
24:30 Byson and Jim, this Jim must hit it a long way 🤣🤣
Superb video
Shows no matter how well you play
There always a hole that does you like the last one for Matt
Great video lads! Very interesting to watch and a good appreciation of what is required to go low.
Played today and shot 84 best so far 44% GIR 1.8 average puts per hole, great videos hope to get nearer 80 soon as well
Liked this. Good explanation of ‘aggression’ and knowing when to go for it or not.
I love it when you two play serious golf, I get so much valued Information from them. Another great vid boys 👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾

@@dbo4506 the pain... XD
It really does make golf a great game but boy oh boy, it can be frustrating at times.
Excellent! Looking back over my recent rounds there’s a really obvious area to focus on - don’t go left off the tee! Cheers both👍

Where is the update? Phone app or on the computer dashboard 👍
@@MarkCrossfield Updated on my phone App the other day, it's a great addition to show where you are relative to others in the same bracket.
Loved the video. Good info for my game. 150 and in is where I can score better. Also 20 more yards on my drives would make a big difference.
Great video Mark.
It would be much more enjoyable watching your videos, if you could mic up rather than "hoping" the camera will pick up that audio sufficiently
Great vid...I'm trying to break 80....now checking out shotscope....👍👍
Great videos - really help you think about your game! Not that I’m breaking 70 anytime soon but still loads of relevant content. 👍

I shot a 78 on Saturday, my lowest score ever. My friend does not believe me even though my brother was there as a witness
It doesn't seem all that long ago when I first broke 80. Good job. I know you enjoyed that round.
Who cares if your friend doesn't believe you. It's all about you .

1 way is Over The Trees, the other is Around the Trees.
