      @@Lahhsn4jYeah, it’s fun walking barefoot in reefs inhabited by stonefish. I love how they poke out of the rocks to say hi and cuddle your foot 😊 definitely a nice fishy.

      Deep ocean dwelling should probably have low evolutionary selection pressure - meaning no major predators no extinction events, just chilling, consuming food falling from upper ocean. There was no need for evolution.

    Fun fact: Helicoprion is a relative of this guy, the reason why it looks like a shark is because of convergent evolution.

      Water pressure, for one. Temperature, for two. It's an extreme environment. Life that evolved to live there can't live anywhere else. There's also no sunlight.

      Narrator said they can be found as far down as 8500 feet! Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's more than 4 miles! 😳 My guess is this (these) fish was filmed via submersible craft.

    Caught so many of these from the coast in namibia, usually with squid as bait. So you might want to add the atlantic ocean.
