I loved making the placemats but make sure your fabric is dark enough or heavy enough so you cannot see the numbers on the batting through your fabric. I didn’t notice this until I had finished all six!
The first two projects remind me of log cabin block variations - my favorite block. Thank you Linda Gagnon for the tip on fabric choices - sounds like that is something the company should put on the packaging. I've not made a June Tailor project, although I have a couple I've received from subscription boxes. I just figured that the numbers and lines would wash out in the laundry like Frixon pen marks. Carolina - I'd love to see the Bargello style tree skirt - I've not done Bargello.
I am addicted to QAYG kits! I have 3 bins full of kits in my stash. Can't wait to see what different ideas you have for these. You can also make your own sash in a dash. I recently tried this technique for the first time and can't wait to see your tips and tricks soon. Thank you for sharing the love for QAYG!
@@CarolinaMoore You've give me such great ideas to work through my bins :) I knew I didn't need 4 sets of placemats, but couldn't resist the different kits. Now, I can make tote bags with a friend or two instead!
@@jackie-dbdstitchart4969 I didn't. I bought some of the June Tailor sash in a dash so I had measurements and a basic idea of how to put it together. I love the sash in a dash, but while there are many colors, you are still limited, so it's nice to make your own for a better match sometimes.
When I was playing with it foe this video, I could already see how much of a "bite" it was taking out of the edge of the Fat Quarter shown. We don't want that with many of our blocks. I think it is avoidable with proper planning. And I always want to give y'all the absolute best with everything I do - hopefully some tips and tricks you don't find elsewhere, but can share with your friends or guild at your next sewing get-together. ❤️

Oh! Good tip! I had not thought of that...
Thank you for mentioning that! I haven't tried these yet but will be mindful of that. ☺️

I’ve made 3 of the stockings for each of my granddaughters. So fun to make and a great size.
Good to know! I'm excited to make them! ❤️
Hmm sash in a dash sounds interesting!
I have been wanting to try it! ❤️
Oh, I've got my eye on that treeskirt kit.
Link is in the description of the video. I'll be making this in July for "Christmas in July." Hopefully they won't sell out. ❤️
I will enjoy watching you make these. I’ve not had any luck with these QAYG kits. I’m sure I just need to practice
Not a fan.
Can you tell me what has tripped you up? I'd love to troubleshoot for you!
@dianehuntley2493 - not everybody has to love every technique... we find the ones we love and stick with them. ❤️
@@CarolinaMooreI totally agree. 😊

I now have ONE full bin! Three sounds amazing! But I'm looking forward to working my way through this one. ❤️

@christinaswanson did you find a tutorial for making your own sash in a dash?

Fun kits! Love knowing the sash in a dash exists. Thank you for the information! Lots of love from the Pacific Northwest 🧡
I can't wait to stitch up some blocks so I can show how it works! ❤️
@@CarolinaMoore Looking forward to watching ☺️
❤️❤️❤️
There are several i would love to try!
Me too! 🥰
I am only interested in the tree skirt. May be interested in others as you do them.
I'm excited about the tree skirt... and I think the others will be fun, too!
Using sash in the dash cuts off points! 😊
I think I have a workaround for that! ❤️
I wouldnt be a bit surprised! You are so very creative 😊@CarolinaMoore

The sashing would probably work for a t-shirt quilt.
It absolutely would! ❤️
This has made me not so resistant to t-shirt quilts. Works beautifully!
@beckycordell7038 good to know! ❤️
Can you add cornerstones with that sashing?
Interesting thought! It isn't apparent to me how, since it is a two-sided casing, not four sided... but now I'm going to puzzle on it... 🤔
