Awesome! I was filming at Heathrow like a week ago and was leaving Myrtle when a SAS 736 flew over my head and went around. First time I'd seen one and NOT on the camera! Damn! :)
With a relatively heavy 767-400 and switching frequencies, with Manchester tower annoying him. You're trained to wait until the aircraft is in a stable climb out until any contact is made, not straight away like he did. Go-arounds are extremely hectic. Flew with ryanair to treviso and its chaotic going around so much things to do, i was in the jump seat!!!!:D
Umm, I was a passenger on that Delta 64 that day. We were not told anything about a flap problem. We got a splendid circle around a white covered Manchester that day. Our flight was way early on arrival. The landing was a smooth of a landing as I have ever experienced. I exited the jet with my usual "Good Job Guys" to the Captain and his crew.
Just a couple hours ago, I turned on my radio to hear MSP tower telling Delta 8709 to go around. I have no idea why, because there was too much static, but he circled around, and about 10 minutes later, I heard the tower give them clearance to land and he said; "Don't worry, there'll be no departures this time." :) It was funny. LOL.
Great video and views of snowy Manchester. The ATC at 2:09 seem a bit harsh saying "yeah no problem sir". Was he not expecting such a long confirmation from the pilot?
Excellent video! But that audio for the landing cannot have been synced properly - any pilot continuing the approach to that low w/out a landing clearance is in the wrong, had he not gotten the clearance or been waved off he did not have the time/height to go-around safely and would of therefore broken the law by landing without a clearance =/
@archer49d I assume you fly small acft like cessnas and pipers as I do, where we are second priority to ATC who are mainly controlling the big birds. I have no idea how much physics you understand but if he had either not gotten a clrnc or been told to go-around that low the inertia of the plane would of carried him either down onto the runway or to metres above this doesn't look good to pax and is bad airmanship if you ask me.... let's just say the audio was out of sync and leave it at that?
Very nice video. Thanks for sharing. One thing though: For my taste, the radio com volume is edited way too loud in your videos. Makes it hard to enjoy the atmosphere.
I like Delta even more now. My airline would have landed anyway. Flap problem is concidered easy for us, just add 40 kts and land.. Fuel savings. Until next crash.
Great footage and what beautiful light that day.

Amazing Amazing Amazing Amazing!!!
One of the best videos of Manchester Ive ever seen!
Thank you so much Jett! really love your videos.
At first, i thought it was a game. I was like. Beautiful Scenery, awesome aircrafts etc.
The vid is never bad m8 .. I love such vids when so many jets take off and land ..
Thanx again Jett
that is a brilliant video the sky adds to the great feeling. Keep on doing videos like this one!

Lovely shots - I know exactly where these were taken from!
Wished I lived around manchester airport! this is why I love aviation!
@Jett203 Great video, very well done. Just as an FYI...the leading edge is "flap" is actually called a slat.
a very smooth landing
I think the section of the leading edge flap between the #1 engine and the fuselage is not extended.
look at those clouds!
Buena variedad de aviones bajo la nieve... exelente....
Very nice !! merry christmas !

People get scared when the plane goes around, I get tears of joy when I know that the flight will be a bit longer
Lovely video, good work!

Oh my... that Deltaflot livery...
Very Graceful!!
brother, is very awesome, thanks for sharing
'Bad video' you say.. I think it's an awesome video!
Very Nice Vid., well edited!
Excellent video!

Nice filming.
amazing mate
@hifromrich Yep, they were. I'm surprised it wasn't a second go around.
its an excellent video
jeez, that was damn close to a second go around! There's no way an airliner should be cleared to land 5 seconds before touchdown.
awesome video
@Fuzzxxxcore - That's what I noticed too but I highly doubt that's what happened, bet the audio wasn't matched with the video.
ELEGANT!! :))
what kind of system do you have, to listen to the radio messages on the frequencies?
@archer49d I assume you fly small acft like cessnas and pipers as I do, where we are second priority to ATC who are mainly controlling the big birds. kills me how some guys take their sweet time getting off the runway.
@LDP555 problem with the leading edge flap
Good job to those pilots :)
@archer49d Thanks for clearing that up archer49d. And once again it is NOT out of sync :)
Awesome!!!! But how did you record the radio communication ???? Can I do the same? What is the frequency?
Very nice video. Thanks for sharing.

you have a radio to receive the ATC chat? How do you do that
looks fun
hi what radio are you using?
@spikey08 I don't think the radio messages were in sync with the images
@tangoecho1 Somthing to do with his leading edge Flaps I belive.
@windowspczone This was filmed 23rd.
@ wowdude999
Yes its a a330
@LDP555 because i just watched the video?
★×5!!!nice!!!
verry nice morning light, atc to loud

@LDP555 he couldnt have said it any clearer over the radio
deltas clearence to land was a bit late
You spent christmas day at the airporr
so scary
