"Human teams in general just suck at human fights" is maybe the worst take I have seen today. The team that can instantly Panic every human in a fight Turn 1 without EGO gifts? That team? That team is bad at human fights. Sure thing boss! Please play the comp more before judging the mechanical impact of something: In human fights the Attack Weight of this EGO is a huge boon, turning what would be multiple coins of wasted overkill damage into spread that helps shred soft targets both mentally and physically.
Yes, sinking teams suck in human fights. The team is heavily overrated. They can panic every enemy? That's so cool, my Poise and Charge teams are rolling 25+ on turn 3 in the meantime. But even if I don't go through most team comps and why they are better than sinking, have YOU played the game? Last time I checked, Sinking sucked dick and balls at being inflicted to multiple enemies at once, and don't even get me started on butterfly. And you're trying to tell me, that wasting most of the damage on targets with no additional effects is a "huge boon"? Even if we take your niche ass example of SL being used to finish off an enemy (because you brought the low damage slow setup team to a human encounter for some reason), the total damage is still not higher than against a boss, and spreading it out to two enemies will lead to none of them being staggered unless they're specifically gloom/blunt weak. You're better off just using one of Gregor's skills to finish off the enemy, and saving the heavy SP cost for another turn. Also, I've spent a good 100-150+ hours playing sinking recently, so don't come at me with the "play the team more" bullshit, I know what I'm talking about. The best use case for a Sinking team is in bossfights. Against abnormalities it's blue rupture, against human bosses it's eternal -45. Sinking is only really competetive on bossfights, and even there Bleed has it beat. Charge, Poise, and even Tremor all beat it in human encounters. Tremor actually can achieve better results than Sinking against bossses as well, as long as their resistances aren't specifically catered to Sinking. You're lucky Burn doesn't have a real nuke, cause if it did, it would be better, too. Though it can still be better on human fights with the help of Dawnclair.
