This set has a huge amount nostalgia for me. My parents drove me 5 hours to participate in a prerelease tournament and I won. The prize was a booster box of fire red leaf green and some other fire red leaf green things. I can’t remember exactly what they were but I think one of the items was watch.

Scyther is one of my favourites of all time too man! I remember when Pokémon first came out in 98/99 and compared to most of the original 151 Pokémon scyther was just such a cool looking mon! I also pulled a first edition scyther at a card meetup when I was 11 years old in front of like 50 ppl who cheered me on when I pulled it! Such good memories!

Been binging of these pack openings. I was never a collector but it's so great to see such enthusiasm and looking back at bits of history really is so cool!
EX sets are the best!! The artwork, the gold stars, the reverse holos and the general look of the cards are just amazing

I was also born in 94 but was more into pokemon cards when I was younger (and again now) so WOTC cards are more nostalgic for me
When I was younger I had a bix box full of pokemon cards me and both of my sisters used to collect. We had cards from 1999 up to 2010. We gave it away. I have never regreted so much in my life.

I had a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament (which I actually won somehow) and they gave me this box for free.
I was so hyped.

But anyway, this set has just beautiful artwork. The swirls are so gorgeous in the holos.
EDIT: Damn, these weren't printed the best. Good pulls, Charizard is going to come in the second half for the clutch up.
Loving the videos. Massive fan of pokemon but don't know much about cards or boxes. Just a suggestion for the border of the screen maybe have a target list of like 10 cards you would love to get in the box and it means our anticipation and hope increases as well
amazing! fire red lead green was also a meaningful set for me and my friends. the first booster box that we managed to purchase with out own money and i remember most of the cards pulled here in my deck

You should weigh the packs beforehand and only open the heavy packs for a guaranteed holo or better and keep the other 2/3rds of packs as a collector piece :)

This just shows how hard it actually is to pull the ex cards 😵 All this Pokémon hype made me dig into my old Childhood Collection from back when I was 8-10yr. I don’t know how, but a side of a lot of base set/jungle and fossil holo’s I also got 9 ex cards, including the Charizard ex, from Fire and Leaf, all in pretty good condition. I am proud of the younger me for taking care of them, and keeping them safe.
Keep it up, this is so fun and nostalgic to watch ❤️

You should cheeck out Randy's Pokemon store ( pokerand.net ) Randolph and Laura sell more of the cheap cards from the sets now, but they still sell a lot of cards from the early days. After the rise in Pokemon recently, I think their starting to sell a lot more packs from higher end boxes which will be affordable because their not looking for a profit, they just want to spread their love of Pokemon and let others in the community have access to the cards they had as kids. Hope this helps 😁

I remember my dad bought me a whole bunch of ex Pokémon cards, and I didn’t really know that those were really rare at the time, and they were all holo and I had so many charizards and I don’t know where those cards went but now I’m sad haha

When I was a boy I opened base, jungle, fossil and team rocket and that was it, I never really liked modern cards because I don't know most of the pokemon, never seen this box before but the card designs are some of the best

Yo Randy, used to collect them when they came out ( was born 1985 ) and one day I came home, took my clothes off and my mum washed my joggers without checking them. Had about 50 - 100 holos from the first ever set they sold in the shops. Still gutted to this day
