    God that was SO well done. Clear, you gave JUST enough information to get it clearly across. I teach, in Social Work, or used to, but as someone who speaks/gives classes, your instruction is clear, easy to process, and informative. Really well done.

    I just discovered your video because I just bought a new Greg Bennett JZ-4. It has some fret buzz in the upper register on the E and B strings. It's not terrible but I figure it's time for me to learn how to do it. This video is 5 years old but still merits a big "Thanks so much!" ✌

      yes I recently viewed your setup video on your 2015 Les Paul. I carefully set up my les Paul similarly aside from the brass nut like yours it's the same. the intonation video using amplitube worked well too. much more accurate than just a tuner. my les Paul plays great and feels like a different guitar. thanks again for the knowledge

      Hey Joseph! Thanks for the comment and for watching my videos! Now - don't fear the truss rod. Just move it in quarters of a turn and always, always loosen it before tighten it. If you have to tighten it (turning it to the right) because you need to straighten the neck, it always helps loosening the strings a bit... If you have any concerns come back to me anytime you need it!

    Great video man. Thanks for sharing. But my guitar has different problem. Everytime i played a note hit by the first fret on the head of the guitar it touches to the second fret so i dont know what im going to do so if you ever answer my question it would be really really appreciated. Thanks a lot

    • @CesarAllGuitar
      @CesarAllGuitar  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks so much for the views and the comments and of course for the subscription! Really appreciated! As you describe the problem, I see two possibilities : either the second fret is too high or the first fret is too low. If the problem is the first one, you just need to level the second fret. This is a very easy repair. You will need to crown the fret afterwards.
      In the second case, you probably need a total fret leveling and a total crowning after that. There are many videos in youtube about that ( Try "Dave's world of fun stuff" channel ).
      If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself ask a tech..
      There is the possibility of a major problem ( but is not common ) and is that your neck has a bump and the area around the first fret and the headstock is bent and creates a hump... There are some videos showing how to fix that but this is a major repair and my advice would be to have a tech taking a look to your guitar...

      Hi! Thanks so much for watching and for the comment! There are many myths about this topic in the internet...the 24 hours applies, in my experience, much more to Acoustic guitars than to Solid Body ones. I have never experienced noticeable differences once the truss rod is adjusted in 24 hours, being honest...

      Cesar Blues Guitar this is best simple to understand video about truss rod adjustment out on youtube.
      I did exactly what you mentioned, did get the buzz off but action is higher now lol! I think i will take it back to shop under warranty to get it fixed.
      I also noticed guitar goes out of tune all of sudden? What can be possible reasons? Thank you for helpful suggestions

    • @CesarAllGuitar
      @CesarAllGuitar  7 лет назад +1

      The action has to be corrected at the saddles but as you say - yes, better take it to the shop if you don't feel comfortable doing it.
      SE's are not the most stable in tuning so to say but looks to me like it is related to the whammy bar - floating bridge....

      Cesar Blues Guitar this was a ex display model.. Usual but worn out but after fretboard cleaning it was sparkling new.
      Saddle- do you mean the one on the bridge which comes with a thinny allen key to get the height adjusted? What words should i look up to find the video? Just for my knowledge
      Floating bridge? Hope i didn't buy a lemon

      Yes - these are the saddles. You can watch videos on my channel showing how I do it.
      No - I am sure you did not buy Lemon - Is your model having a whammy bar? Because of it is it has a Floating Bridge.

    Great video Cesar Thanks for sharing!
    I have a PRS SE Torero Floyd Rose that I purchased used.. in almost mint condition. I took it to Guitar Center for a setup. .and also the E string (6th) was buzzing (open E and played). The repair guy completed the setup.. but was not able to fix the buzz. This buzz went all the way to all frets. He was stumped and cannot figure it out.. He said he did everything he new.. He suggested maybe replace the tremolo?
    What can be done here? It is a very nice and near mint condition and I don't want to sell it.

      Hi there! Thanks for your comment ! Let's see if I can help. If you send me a pic to my email cesarbluesguitar@gmail.com I can figure it up better but for what you tell me if the only string buzzing is the low E (6th) and the rest are OK chances are that the nut is not well cut. It is a very easy fix (if that is what happens). You might have the saddle too low too which then is even easier. If you can send me a pic with the nut and another with the bridge saddles I think I could help....

      I've followed your instructions on my Fender standard strat, and ended up needing to loosen the truss rod almost completely. Yet fret buzz on the higher strings remains above the seventh fret. Does this sound like I need to adjust the bridge as well?

    • @CesarAllGuitar
      @CesarAllGuitar  7 лет назад

      Well, if I do not see the guitar looks like it is the case...you need to measure the height of the strings ( action ) . I have a set up of a Fender American Standard Start in my channel, take a look at it because the springs can be playing a role too.....

    Orrrrrr, you own a Fender with the truss rod adjustment at the heel, and you'd have to take off the strings and remove the scratchplate to even access the damn thing. Who the Hell thought THAT was a good idea? The technology to adjust it at the other end didn't exist? They never had the tools to just put the damn thing in the other way around?

    • @CesarAllGuitar
      @CesarAllGuitar  6 лет назад +2

      Cannot agree more with you! I have a video of my 52 telecaster - it has the truss rod at the heel but I can adjust it without taking the neck off. Just watch,,,, Thanks!

  • @Walamonga1313
    @Walamonga1313 6 лет назад +1

    Wait, so if my fret buzz starts from the 12th fret and on is it still a neck problem or is it just that I have too low String Action? How do I know if I need to raise the action or if I need to do truss rod adjustment?

    • @CesarAllGuitar
      @CesarAllGuitar  6 лет назад

      First you need to check ALWAYS the neck relief. If there is not enough neck relief you will need to loosen the truss rod. If there is enough neck relief, then look at the other factors like string height....thanks for Watching!
