Thanks for watching everyone! 3 vids the past 3 days and as always, we are loving that we can take you all along! It means so much you watch. I hope everyone had a great weekend and has an awesome day!! There is so much ahead!
Looks like an awesome town. I’ll definitely have to add that to my list of places to visit. I love looking at antiques myself so I would probably have a field day down there. As always, thanks for taking us along.
Come too Highland County not far from Arcadia. Avon park beautiful historic hotel with a restaurant. Indian Town has beautiful hotel inside. Love too see all the places u visit.
Arcadia is a great place with a central theme (antiques). Meanwhile here in Sebring they still can't make the downtown circle of much interest. All our historic hotels are rotting, although the Jacaranda in Avon Park is well worth visiting.
Great video really enjoy seeing the antique stores down there we really enjoy going to the ones up here in Indiana always a fun weekend thing to do. Thanks for sharing
Looks like fun Tampa Jay! 🙂🙂My hubby and I talk about visiting different areas in FL and this looks like a really cool place. Ps I commented on Chris's channel that you guys would LOVE Treasure Trove and Treasure Mart in Hudson FL (Hernando County)
Nothin like Back in the day merch. So cool to see things from days gone by. Love looking thru items like this. Thank you for taking us with you. As always cool video. 💕
Arcadia has the graves of 24 Royal Air Force Cadets from ww2 when they were training in the US. A couple died before the US got involved. It's really cool. The cemetery is just a couple of miles NW of downtown arcadia
During WW II there were approximately 180 military bases in Florida, primarily training US and Allied forces for combat in Europe and the Pacific. Among those bases was the one at Arcadia where RAF pilots were trained. As with all military training there were fatal accidents. In keeping with British military tradition the young RAF pilots were interred where they fell, at Arcadia. After 80 years the graves of these young men might be forgotten and overgrown but not so in Arcadia. Arcadia has erected a memorial to them and holds an annual ceremony to honor them on Remembrance Day (Sunday closest to November 11). Sometimes "dignitaries" from the UK attend but the people of Arcadia never fail to remember the sacrifice the young Britons made so far from home. Small town old Florida at its finest!
I love antique shopping! I still have some beanie babies, I have that green Irish bear and the turkey. I keep the bear because I met my husband on Saint Patrick’s day. I didn’t think they were worth anything anymore!
by the way when you show US HWY 17 in Arcadia it take you and Cris the Girl to Charleston SC you two been on it before the other way when you been pick up by Cris the Girl in North Carolina and stop in Charleston SC for Fort Sumter two or three month ago
You were doing my kind of thing, antiques stores..love them so..i could live in one..so many kind of THINGS...and you might like this book, based on old Florida, its called "A LAND REMEMBERED" By Patrick D Smith, i think you'd love reading it, it's about a family from Georgia, crossing Florida raising and driving cattle, it goes through 3 generations of this family...it was read to me in high school, i remembered it well and liked the history it mentions, and the towns associated with it much are places you have been, and you might want to do a locations video based on what you read later on if you choose to...take a look at it.
Those double drums are actually not called "bongos" ... they're called "timbales"... just wanted to clarify. Anyhow I'm a recent subscriber and really enjoyed your videos about rural Florida towns and abandoned places. I've lived in Florida for most of my life and enjoy traveling the more rural (and less touristy) parts of our beautiful state! Thank you!
So I'll share my Billy Squier - Stroke story. For anyone who attended a school with nuns you'll hopefully appreciate this. So every year at the end of the school year, the sisters would take our class to an indoor roller skating rink. For a few years, when we would walk in, the very next song would always be The Stroke! I always remember the sour faces on the good sisters...and didn't get it until I was a bit older! If you ever do a Best Of or a Quick Hits of the year video, you have GOT to put in the "Nice rack" segment! Well done, sir...WELL DONE! And good sport shout out to Cris!
Hello ho hooo my friends, the coffee pot serves to preserve the ground coffee without destroying the aroma In other words it is a coffee preservingpot.

Cool vlog. I was obsessed with the little wooden FP toy, but mine was a bee. This is gonna sound weird, but I was obsessed with the sent of that wood or whatever it was made out of😂🤣 We love doing stuff like that. We drove to Lakeland by accident last year and ended up in a cool food hall then a coffee shop. We also love the Strawberry Farm called Parksdale and we’re thinking about riding the Monster School bus in the Showcase of Citrus near Disney.

They have a very cool antique shop for sure. The opera house is claimed to be haunted. I love the place. Great video buddy. You two just rock.
The wild wild east! So many memories in those stores. Thanks for the tour and taking us all along.
You've inspired me to make the trip to Arcadia to check out some of these shops.
Loved the Jeff Spicoli reference at 5:27.
Gnarly !!!

There is also a quaint cafe there that looks like an old Victorian house called Mary Margaret's Tea and Biscuit ❤️

That's cool to learn. I remember hearing about RAF pilots training in Florida at some point but cool hearing how close to home.

Love the vids jay
Overload of antiques but something for everybody.
If you're into antiquing, you should go to Lyon's Head Antiques in New Port Richey, off of 19. Lots of cool stuff in there, including some records
JAY, stay safe, stay wright, hold each other in the Night, / Peaceguys, lovya
At the 33:45 point in your video, what your calling emergency stops are probably part of the road crossing that was removed when it was redone
Good catch exactly right The steel rails actually go through those. They sit in the road at that the actual R x R crossing

Do you recall the location/address of the abandoned house at the 32-minute mark?
You could use the instant coffee for sugar.
Go 4th Sat each month, they have sidewalk sales,
Stadium arcadium and arcade fire lol
Did you know about the mental hospital? Don't know if it's still there.
