You should also mention that you can eventually only level up if you spend a large sum of money (to get to level 35, a few people I knew spent $50,000 to $70,000) or you have access to 20 to 40 farm accounts for the sole purpose of giving your account resources. With spending a moderate amount of money ($3,000 to $5,000) you can get to level 15 in about 2 days, 5 days for level 20, 1 year for level 30, and 2 to 3 years for level 35. These are also assuming you have access to farm accounts to help gather resources. The developers don't update the game much and the "events" become like chores after about 20 times of completing them.

I was gathering resources and before I could upgrade a building I was ambushed and I couldn't upgrade my building. How can I secure my collected resources from the looters?
After getting a lot of resources you could enable a shield so you dont get attacked till you spend those resources or perhaps in extreme situations you could teleport very far away from enemy players or the 3rd options is to join a top 3 alliance in your world and be protected by them.

The game becoming more and more ridiculous day by day. You need money to join events and also a ton of money to develop. The scaling is just nonsense. You have a level 22 city by playing hours every day, then a level 34 comes and destroys hundreds of players alone in one hour without losing anything.
You can easily protect yourself against this mechanic. Like using shields when you are sleeping, or hiding your troops in gathering mines. Then as well as a defender you dont lose much troops but they get sent to hospital so If a level 34 ever attack level 22 he doesn't gain almost anything but just loses besides the ego boost.

@@KaidGames2 You eventually can only have enough shields if you buy the monthly card, the game doesn't give that many opportunities to get shields. Hiding troops in a gather mine is not a valid option either because your troops can still get attacked. If you have more troops than your hospital capacity allows, they will be lost in battle if you lose. To summarize, if someone with a much stronger base attacks, you will lose all of your troops and resources. They call this term "being zeroed".

Anyone who claims otherwise is lying. If you still want to put time into this money machine, do it up to a maximum of c30 . After that, everyone should master the "game" enough to spoil the fun by sitting under the bubble mentioned above. Don't invest money! It doesn't bring you anything in terms of price / performance, even if everything takes forever without money. There will always be someone in your world who will “buy hard” and oppress you. Thus the perfect start of the group pressure to take money in hand. Please don't believe anyone who tells you they would be successful or have fun without spending a lot of money. When I got to level 16 I had to start spending money cuz at that point the grind becomes insane

That is up to your alliance leader. They are responsible for appointing r1 to r2, r2 to r3, etc.
