Genuinely incredible. Been listening to this on loop for the last few days, and it just gets more exciting - I absolutely love how the leitmotifs build on each other to make sense of such a bizarre mixed metre, and how the notation shows the phrasing even when it contradicts expectations. Harmonically, rhythmically, and vibes-wise, this is spectacular.

@@philip.stigaardInteresting! Yeah I do that too often, though I really need to actively force myself to add in many time signature changes unless it's something simple and repeating like 7/8...
I wanna play this but I’d have trouble remembering the time changes. If this could be simplified to more consecutive measures of one count before it changes, I could learn it easier. Can you imagine a version of this where the count changes are easier to memorize? If there’s a way of simplifying the count in a way that’s easier to memorize.
@@philip.stigaard sorry it wasn't supposed to be a timecode marker, it was just 5 in the morning when RUclips suggested me your video haha nice composition btw!!
this is the kind of track you compose at 3am, think it's absolute fire, then sleep and come back to it and spot like 50 things you want to change
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED
@@philip.stigaardthis comment is true but it doesnt change how gas it is
@@poisonousiodine1769 it's mostly the groove that's doing the hard work. If you were to play the notes without it I don't think it would sound good.

“How many time changes do you want?” “Yes”
Also that bassline is crazy!
The time signature is having a stroke and I love it
I agree with the thumbnail
The definition of everything's in 4 if you don't count it like a nerd

im loving all this mixed meter. hell yeah dude nice job!
Sounds like a mix of brad mehldau and some video game music , amazing

You're so right!
Rick Beato did an interview with Brad Mehldau not to long ago, that you can find on Beato's RUclips channel. It's really worth a watch!
My city's tap water has more consistency than the time signature.
I love it.
The solo, not the tap water.

Got that jazz funk fusion vibe that inspired the music of Pilotwings 64

Thanks. I got inspired by Prokofiev's Precipato to write this piece. I like a lot of different artist and it always changes so i don't really know

This sounds like what gets tacked on to the beging of a prog song as a solo because the rest of the band doesn't know what to do with it.
How do you write so fast? Wich program do you use?
I write with midi keyboard, it's very fast as a pianist. It’s even faster when i compose for piano. I wrote this piece with musescore
I kinda wanna record like drums and stuff over this
I was thinking the same, but then i realised i know nothing about drums

I can try. I already made the sheet music easier to read in the description using dorico since the video was made with musescore
We calling electric pianos synths now?
which app is this?
Song name?
Jesus Christ
Try it in e guita
This has a pretty wide range, would it be performable on a polysynth or would you need an 88 key MIDI controller to play this?
I think it would be playable on a polysynth if you transpose every note an octave down but idk
did you dreamt it?
That's why we love you! That's why we admire you!

Why even have measures at this point
a stable pulse is for the weak
Just add trap drums + 808 over it
It’s hard because it changes time signature all the time, and I’m bad at working in DAW. It would be so perfect
The beginning is so good! Then it becomes a bit of a mess
Now play it using church bells
