Hey guys thank you for great honest raw review. I did have one question. You mentioned a few times that the tires were quiet. How Do They Ride? Are they rough? Are they very pronounced if you drive over a pothole? I'm pretty much considering buying these sets of tires but not sure about the ride quality. Pretty much are they smooth on the road when driving over potholes and uneven pavement? Please let me know. Thank you so much.
Hey there and thank you for your comment! So to answer your question the tires ride really well. Very predictable during spirited driving. You'll hear an audible screech and feel the tires grip during cornering to the point where it makes it very confidence instilling and predictable. Please understand your questions about the tires being rough or pronounced when driving over a pothole is subjective. For Alvin, he is riding on 20" rims and Hiro is on 19" rims but with a lower radial. On Alvin's car (red Charger) you will barely notice hitting any potholes but on Hiro's (black G35) you can hear it hit. The audible "thump" when hitting the pothole really depends on the sound deadening of your vehicle so this is why it's hard to give an accurate description to you on those questions. But as far as drivability, they are very smooth, quiet, tracks straight (has alignment markers on the tire so you can tell) and grippy. Haven't tried in the wet as it hasn't rained here in California as of yet but I'm sure it'll be decent. Hope this helps you. If you have any other questions, let us know! @@FirstTimersChannel Man thank you for your quick and accurate reply. I'm planning on getting 18"s size 235 45 r18. Sorry I should have mentioned that earlier. Based on your assessment it sounds like size 18 should drive very smoothly and quietly. What do you think?
Alvin's car (red Charger) is on 45 radials so yeah you should be good. The G35 is on 40 radials.
On my second set - modded MK7 GTI. Considering they are a W rated UHP, I feel they ride surprisingly well. 225/40 ZR/18's. No complaints.
Looking for an 'affordable' set of tires to replace my Dunlop Signature HP on my '03 GTI VR6. As much as I like the Dunlops, they are losing air way too quickly after just a few years, with no damage to the tires or the valve stems. Even though I can get another 10K on the Dunlops, I am dissapointed about the air leaks. So, I have it narrowed down to the General G-MAX AS-05 and the Falken ZIEX ZE950 A/S. I know they are both very good, value driven performance all season tires, but i'm wondering if the Generals are worth the extra money above what the Falkens would cost me. A set of installed Generals would cost me $569, whereas the Falkens would cost $458 installed.
I like that the Generals sidewalls jut out a bit to provide rim protection, just like my Dunlops. Not many tires have this feature. Thanks for the video!
Hey thanks for your comment! Rim protection was one of the biggest things for us as well especially since Hiro just got his rims refinished. I can't speak for the Dunlops or Falkens but so far we are loving the Generals. There's a very positive feedback you get through the steering wheel while cornering which is nice and confidence instilling. We were originally in the market for BF Goodrich G-Force Comp 2's but went with these instead due to price and availability. The rubber on the Generals feel soft and grippy but the side walls are really stiff, so all around great tire, very happy with our purchase!

No problem happy to help! Another thing I forgot to mention is the tires have alignment markers so you can tell if your alignment is off on your car. Thought that was a cool feature. Anyway, make sure to hit that SUBSCRIBE as we are planning to track our project cars when they are ready and see how these Generals hold up!
OK, i've had these a few weeks now, and am blown away by the performance, value, traction in snow, etc.! The best all season UHP tire i've ever had, which includes Dunlop, GoodYear, and Falken. I would buy these again in a heartbeat!
@@AudiophileTubes Agreed! Actually we've finally had a storm pass through to test wet traction. I did a 40-0 emergency brake test and a burn out test to see if it would break traction but it performed as if driving on dry! So yeah, we're happy as well with these tires! Glad you are too!
Mine is G37S and its time for new tire set. I dont feel like spending $1k on tires at all. How is it holding up by the way?
We are loving these tires. They are holding up very well and have been recently tested in the rain. 5/5 stars for wet/dry traction to be honest. If you drive your car spiritedly you will not be disappointed.
@@FirstTimersChannel Thanks so much for the quick response. I think I will get that set tomorrow or sometime this week. In the past 5 yrs of owning this G, I have never floored the gas pedal or seen above 100MPH tbh, not even 90 lol. Again, I appreciate you getting back to me because the tires really need to be replace (leaking air)
