One of the few that are reaching what needs to be preached during this important time.
What does it mean that the Sabbath was made for man and not man for the Sabbath?
In Mark 2:27 Jesus said, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.” This statement was in response to the accusation that His disciples were breaking the law regarding resting on the Sabbath when they walked by some fields and plucked heads of grain (see Mark 2:23-28; also Matthew 12:1-8; Luke 6:1-5).
When the Pharisees accused Jesus’ disciples, Jesus referred them to an example from the Old Testament. David was once in need of food and was given consecrated bread that was, technically, only lawful for the priests to eat (1 Samuel 21:1-6). The holy bread had served a practical need of God’s anointed (David) and his followers, just as, in Jesus’ day, the grain served a practical need for God’s anointed (Jesus) and His followers.
David and his men had not acted sinfully in eating the showbread, and neither were Jesus’ disciples acting sinfully in picking heads of grain on the Sabbath. Jesus concludes, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath” (Mark 2:27-28). His response to the accusing Pharisees contains two important teachings.
First, the Sabbath was intended to help people, not burden them. In contrast with the grueling daily work as slaves in Egypt, the Israelites were commanded to take a full day of rest each week under the Mosaic Law. Pharisaical law had morphed the Sabbath into a burden, adding restrictions beyond what God’s law said. The act of picking a head of grain and munching on it as one walked along a field should not be considered “harvesting,” as the Pharisees tried to categorize it. The disciples had not broken God’s law; they had only violated the Pharisees’ strict interpretation of the law. Jesus reminded the Pharisees of the original intent of the Sabbath rest.
Jesus gives a similar reminder in Mark 3:1-6 (also Matthew 12:9-14; Luke 6:6-11) when He heals a man on the Sabbath. The Pharisees were looking to accuse Jesus and closely watched His response to a man with a shriveled hand. “Jesus asked them, ‘Which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to kill?’ But they remained silent” (Mark 3:4). The Sabbath was not intended to burden people but to ease their burden. For someone to forbid acts of mercy and goodness on God’s day of rest is contrary to all that is right. Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath, did what was right and healed the man, and that’s when the Pharisees began to plot with the Herodians to kill Jesus.
Second, Jesus is Lord even of the Sabbath. What does this mean? Another way to express the idea is to say Jesus is in charge of the Sabbath. He is God in human form, and He created the Sabbath day. As the One who wrote the law, Jesus certainly has oversight over how the law is to be enforced. The Pharisees had lifted their own rules to the level of God’s, placing onerous burdens on people, and they ended up rebuking the Lawgiver Himself.
Jesus is also the Lord of the Sabbath in that the Sabbath pointed to the rest Jesus provides. Jesus became our rest when He did all the work necessary for our salvation (Hebrews 4). He fulfilled the Law and the Prophets (Matthew 5:17). “Christ is the culmination of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes” (Romans 10:4). We rest, spiritually, in Him; He has secured our eternal blessing.
As believers, set free in Christ, we are not judged for not keeping the Sabbath day (Colossians 2:16). Instead, we follow the Lord Jesus Christ whom the sabbath foreshadowed. We find our rest in Him, and seven days a week are filled with worship of Him.
@@edaguirre8952 Nope--the Sabbath is the 4th commandment in the law--to trample on it is sin--we are not "free in Christ" to sin. Jesus did not keep the Sabbath for us. He gives clear directions right in the law.
Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shall you labor, and do all your work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD your God: in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: why the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
1Jn 3:4 Whoever commits sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Col 2:16 is about the feast day sabbaths that were nailed to the cross--the 7th day Sabbath is not mentioned.
This is a false teaching designed to lead Christians to hellfire--you're not fooling anyone. I've seen you on here before teaching lies--who are you? I think I know what you are...

@@edaguirre8952 Jesus said I didn't come to change the law, but to fulfill it, that is, to show us, it is possible to keep the law in His strength and grace. He didn't cancel the Sabbath day, but showed us HOW to keep it, because the pharisees made it unbearable with man-made rules, that the Lord never asked us to keep.

Why did ellen white never acknowledge in her books the names of the sunday keeping authors that she copied from?
She did not copy from any Sunday keeping authors. What she wrote came from various history books. All writers did the same at that time. It was totally lawful and all authors did so - most especially with history books.

Walter Rea discovered that what the Angel supposedly told her was almost word for word what some olden day Christian writer had written in one of his book which Walter found in EGW personal library in her home.
I believe the serious head injury incurred by EGW made her the woman she was. Sometimes an injury like that can bring out a gifting buried deep in the brain bec EGW was a gifted and prolific writer.
But she was also a gifted plagiariser and used to employ secretaries to help her in her endeavors to pump out book after book.
But sometimes a head injury like she suffered at such a young age can also sear one's conscious.
It is estimated that EGW claimed she had experienced more than 2000 visions or spoken messages from Angels etc.
That's far more than all of the messages received by all of God's Prophets Combined in the Bible.
She was able to conjure up a message or vision anytime circumstances required one.
Christian Scholars Forum has some interesting facts and proof from her writings that EGW constantly contradicted herself over her supposed visions and messages from the other side.
John Pauline SDA Professor brought out a paper almost a year ago saying that there isn't going to be a SL or NSL, and EGW was not a Prophet.
He also instructed SDA's not to teach that the Papacy was the 666, bec it's not True.
The 666 has to talking about a first century Character and the character was Nero Caesar.

I felt like he was preaching Ellen White rather than from the gospel according to Matthew.
He uses both. Jesus raised up EGW as his end time prophet and she is just as inspired by the Holy Spirit as any prophet before her that have their writings in the God’s holy manuscripts. Many prophets mentioned in the Bible wrote no book named after themselves, but they are mentioned by other authors - most especially two of the most important - Elijah and John the Baptist. Why are you watching if you have such disdain for Jesus’ prophet. Your angel has recorded what you have stated here in your personal book and unless you repent what you wrote and confess it to God, you will be judged by your rebellion against God against the standard for God’s judgement - His law. When you break one you break them all because that is what rebellion against God produces. You put yourself above God.

Did EVERYTHING prophesied by Elem come to pass? No! She is not a prophet of God. Thats a true teat according to the scriptures.

Jona's preaching produced fruit. Nineve repented in sackloth and ash, and so God relented. God purposed not to destroy Nineve, but reap good fruit because of Jona's obedience.

Matthew 24 still has not taken place this is future.
And Pastor Bohr did not say otherwise. So, there is no reason for your pontification and strutting about, now, is there?

Blasphemy is only recorded in God’s Word as someone claiming to be God or having the prerogatives of God, or claiming that he can forgive sins. Pastor Bohr did neither of these things. You don’t know the Bible very well, do you?

You are in error and you are the one making the SDA look bad. Shame on you. Your angel wrote what you stated in your book for the universe to read. We are to know our Bible well so when we are brought before those in power to give reasons for our stance, the Holy Spirit will bring what we have studied to our mind. We can’t remember something if we never got familiar with it in the 1st place. This is not premeditated - it is just studying to show ourselves approved.

I think she meant righteous, truth, and correct scripture will come to mind by the Holy Spirit in defending one's faith in Jesus Christ.
If one hasn't learned/read the testimony of Jesus Christ, then the Holy Spirit may not be able to intercede.

As believers, set free in Christ, we are not judged for not keeping the Sabbath day (Colossians 2:16). Instead, we follow the Lord Jesus Christ whom the sabbath foreshadowed. We find our rest in Him, and seven days a week are filled with worship of Him.
Then why keep the sunday, which is the day of the sun. The Lord blessed and sanctified the Sabbath. They were hungry for they had ministered with the Lord the whole time for the poor and the sick without a loan. Do you do that? They picked for they were hungry after giving their time to others. The Sabbath, not the sunday, is in the very heart of the Decalogue. Why change or cancel only this one? If you cancel or change it, then you can just as well have other gods, bow down to graven images, say the name of the Lord in vain, dishonor your parents, commit adultery, kill, steal, lie and covet. Exodus 31:13, 17 say the Sabbath is an eternal sign between Him and us. The Sabbath commandment was not given to the Jews, but by creation to Adam and Eve, before they fell by choosing another father then their Creator.
Jesus came to fulfill, not to change the law. The 10 Commandments are eternal.

ELLEN WHITE AND SABBATH CONTROVERSY
The sabbath was ceremonial and pointed to Christ and has nothing to do with the gospel and the gentiles. Jesus COMMANDED to REMEMBER LOT'S WIFE. He NEVER said to keep the sabbath day. Ellen White told her followers to keep the sabbath day, and successfully turned them into heretical sabbath day idolators living under the Old COVENANT, staring down the New, and stepping on the grace of Christ.

And again, then why keep the sunday??? There is no verse in the whole Bible that we should keep the sunday. NOT ONE, no matter how hard you try to twist the 8 verses in which the first day of the week is mentioned. On the contrary, the Bible states that there will be a power who would try to change the times and the law: Daniel 7:25. This power is the roman catholic church who, as in this verse, wore out the saints in the Middle Ages.
