I knew this after a few seconds of clicking on the video. Dark Sonic has always been one of my favorite parts about Sonic ever since I first saw him. He NEEDS to appear somewhere else, even if it's a spin off game.

The reason he isn’t in any games is because of the specific circumstances that are required for him to transform. If i remember correctly, he was only able to transform using the power of fake emeralds and his anger from seeing his friends in danger.

It's been forever since I've watched the show but I didn't realize that it had to do with fake emeralds I just thought it was from his friends being in danger
I think they would change the fake emeralds to the negative side of chaos emeralds
If we ever see Dark Sonic in game I think it'd have to be something akin to Shadow Sora from Kingdom Hearts. Not invincible, but is a lot more powerful than regular Sonic and, if not just straight up being able to fly, maybe able to hover for a short time. I like how this mod has you not need 50 rings, this would be a REALLY good way to balance it. You can use it at any point, but if you DO wait until 50 you get the more powerful Super Sonic
Makes me think that Sonic uses the rings to focus on the emeralds positive energy...
Unfortunately, the only official way to play as Dark Sonic is as a skin in the Smash games. It’s his best one though

My personal interpretation is that The True Dark Sonic in the world of the game's was actually the Werehog from Unleashed. In all guides it's always stated that Eggman, to charge his new weapon to rip the earth apart, reverted the polarity from the Chaos Emeralds, and due to how Super Sonic was using the positive energy of the Emeralds to be Super Sonic and due to the specifics of said situation, Sonic ended up getting transformed into the Werehog, but kept his thoughts positives because he wasn't thinking them at the moment of the transformation. Another thing to add is that this kind of transformations were already seen with Perfect Chaos, who used the Negative Energy of The Emeralds to destroy Station Square, de forming his own body structure into a monster similar to a kaiju. And the reason why he kept transforming was because of how Dark Gaia is all bad thoughts on earth. But Sonic being Sonic was able to destroy the odds and save the world as always, as you already knew. One thing that I wanted to add is that it's stated multiple times that The Positive Energy of the Emeralds is much more Powerful than the Negative one, so a Super Shadow could totally beat Dark Sonic in a fight.
Look, the form looks good, but it's not really that impressive compared to other ones. And in fact, the Dark Sonic we see would probably be nothing considering the fact that our showcase was so short and had nothing in it and, most importantly, the Emeralds we saw weren't the original ones, but just some fakes that dissolved when Shadow made a Chaos Control. Dark Sonic hasn't been proved as powerful to me as other forms, and, if it were to have a comeback, I would make it so his power isn't as poor as shown.

That was a really damn good analyse, for me thought, the canon Dark Sonic is Darkspine Sonic from Secret Rings, because, this form literally draws its power from negative emotions.

It's not really stated in any media (at least that I know off) that it is powered by Dark Gaia's energy (in fact, I believe it was Chip who came up with the name, so it could be that it is just negative energy in general). Keep in mind that Dark Gaia's power is Negative Energy itself, and that's the reason why Werehog comes at night, because that's when all negative thoughts start to arrive to the world, and, probably because of the way that the Chaos Emeralds were reverted, it lead to what we see in the game.
I should clarify that the way the Sonic Franchise's lore works can be pretty vague, which can lead to this sort of issue. That's just how I interpreted it.
@@noone5454 it’s been confirmed that it’s not chaos energy that causes the werehog but It’s just a piece of dark gaias essence that infected sonic that’s how it was pulled back at the end of the game.
Because of the negative chaos energy being used when sonic was in space that’s probably what dark gaias essence gravitated to which causes sonic to get infected

the thing is, they refuse to bring the whole emerald polarity thing back since Unleashed. Adventure did it too at the end of Super Sonic's story if I remember correctly. It could really improve the lore if they executed it well (just like Nazo Unleashed did, cough cough).

Fun fact: on sonic mania plus there is a way to get dark sonic and the other dark forms. Sorta. If you place every vending machine in order then a star checkpoint and then a giant ring. Spin dash threw it and you'll become a dark form. It chooses random I think.

Let's just get a game centered around Dark Sonic and why he appears, and take some kinda storyline like Fleetway Super Sonic.
I knew from the beginning it was Dark Sonic! In this form Sonic is really mad probably because one or some of his friends are badly injured and thinks that Eggman went too far.

If i were to put him in the game you would have to unlock him like this:
in every special stage there is a secret teleporter that will send you to another special stage, from there you beat it normal but the emeralds actually are fake ones (its how he got dark sonic in the tv show if i remember right) and so you get every single one of them and there you can go into dark sonic
He would be so cool in a game! Maybe at some point one of Sonic's friends gets badly just and Sonic snaps, granting access to Dark Sonic! And unlike Super Sonic, Dark Sonic might not lose rings (or lose them as quickly)

Tbh dark sonic is just super sonic with a rage boost so he would probably lose rings a little bit faster than normal super sonic
@@mkthemc maybe, though Sonic needed to be calmed down by an outside source with Dark Sonic, so that's why I think losing rings wouldn't be as much of an issue

This feels exactly like the type of videos I watched when I first started using RUclips. ESPECIALLY the section with modded Generations. I miss those days...
Here’s how I see it play out: Eggman gets all 7 chaos emeralds. And to stop him, Tails creates his own. But in one fight one of Sonic’s friends gets really hurt. Then Sonic uses the counterfeit emeralds to unlock this form. After a boss battle as Dark Sonic, we see a cutscene of Sonic beating Eggman far beyond what he normally does in battle. Which leads to his friends having to calm him down.
You basically described how this form debuted. Just replace Eggman with Metarex aliens, and friends with Eggman.

Then again, acording to what Dark Super Form really is, it appears to be the hatred and urge to seek revenge on something, so Sonic couldn't access the Dark Super Form in any game because he didn't have a true hatred for someone, and neither seeked revenge

@@DarkNinja197 oh yeah, I'm aware of them both. While they are definitely dark enough, I don't think their twisted plots are suited to having a super form, even if it were Dark Super Sonic.
Granted, I can't think of any other fan game or Rom hack that is dark enough for Dark Super Sonic to happen.

honestly when sonic goes into a form other than regular super they manage to make it more fun, so seeing dark sonic I a game would probably be fun with a power boost
note: Dark Sonic is powered by the negative power of the fake Chaos Emeralds, while a Super Form is powered by the Chaos energy coming from the real Chaos Emeralds. It is stated in Sonic Adventure 2 that the fake emeralds are weaker than the real ones, meaning that a super form would be stronger so Shadow should've won that
2 things you might of missed in this video:
1. sonics rings started going down when he became dark sonic but not when he was fighting with super shadow
2. when sonic falls his pupils went back (pupils mean that black thing in your eyeballs it can be with different colors though)
I’ve always found Dark Sonic so interesting, because of his design and also the fact that he doesn’t need any rings or actual emeralds, he just needs the fake chaos emeralds and enough rage.

This is pretty good content, but ya know… Dark Sonic was never seen to fly. He just went on a rage after seeing Cosmo scared and Chris fainted in the Meta Rex main ship (it can be Matter X I don’t remember), which led him to turn dark blue, and then pitch-black. He appeared only a few seconds, maybe a minute in there, wrecking 2 Meta Rex’s. The two Meta Rex’s were made to test Sonic’s speed and power, each robot testing one. He slashed through the first one with great speed and then punched the hell out of the second one. Then just before he was about to wreck the Meta Rex, Eggman came in and calmed down Sonic, turning him normal. Because we’ve seen him only for a minute, playing with 2 robots, we could never know his true potential. He also doesn’t use or need any emeralds. It possibly cannot fly tho, as after beating one before attacking the other, he waited a few seconds, standing there menacingly, but on his foot and not floating in place.

Sonic has two gaauges, one for light, one for dark. If light is maxed out, he temporally goes Super Sonic, if dark is maxed out, he temporarily goes Dark Sonic.
Dark Super Sonic or simply Dark Sonic will always be a form I want to see canon. Maybe Dark Super Shadow too since he usually gets the same forms Sonic has like Super and Hyper.

I first thought it was the Super Sonic but with the circle red eyes thing then I also guessed Dark Sonic.
How I would make a Dark Sonic in a Sonic Game where there is Super Sonic, personally:
He is canonically weaker than Super Sonic, however, he will be easier to get in gameplay at the same time so there is some reward to get him, but also a payoff.
Anyways, here is what I would do:
- He requires only 20-25 rings. If you reach 50 rings you would turn Super Sonic instead, unless you don't have all the original chaos emeralds of course.
- He is almost as fast as Super Sonic, but of course, almost as fast, not as fast.
- Your "invulnerability" depends on a "shield". After tanking enough damage, the next attack or spike you take WILL damage Sonic. You will lose half of your total rins, but if your rings are below 30 you will lose all of them (subconsequently losing your form).
(- Your Shield can regen with time.)
- You have to be taken damage from any source at least once before turning into him. So it makes sense because of Sonic's rage, and also cuz even tho his weakness he is still quite busted for a platform and easy to get.
- To also balance it out with all of this changes, his ring drains for the transformation are 30% slower than the drain you get from the Super Form, meaning even if you get him as soon as you get 20 rings after taking damage he will still last for a while.

Very experimental idea:
Every Sonic Form have a button to do a "skill".
- *Super Sonic* would probably be a little chaos control explosion or shoot like he do in Sonic X.
- *Hyper Sonic* if in the game would just explode everything around him while dashing forward like in Sonic 3.
- *Dark Sonic* would in highspeed teleport to the nearest enemies (up to 2) and deal damage, before going back to the same spot. Literally what he did as Dark Sonic in Sonic X too, but only 2 cuz its not as op as the other forms.

Dark Sonic is technically in a sonic game. Sonic and the Secret Rings features Darkspine Sonic as its super transformation, and it has pretty much all the same qualities as Dark Sonic, including the name. Its triggered by a mass of negative emotion spawned from the enemy hurting one of his companions which gives him ultra speed, strength beyond dimensions, ability to fly, and (as the name suggests) turns his quills black. In my opinion, Darkspine is cooler than just Dark, with greater spectacle and a cooler design, plus he gets the edgy voice to match. If only more people knew about this form and the game it comes with...

My opinion on how the race would’ve gone down, super shadow would have won. The master emerald’s energy by far surpasses dark Sonic’s.
