  • Weird History Presents Timeline: 1990. Oh, 1990, the start of a new decade and it would be all that and a bag of chips. 1990 would be a year where the world would see the rise of the world wide web, civil unrest in the states, and a hairstyle called “The Rachel” dominate the landscape. Join Weird History as we explore the year that was 1990.

      90s was the best era in history

    • @seanvasquez523
      @seanvasquez523 3 года назад +2

      @@kev8322, In just one 10 year period? You know humanity has been around for about 200,000 years or so (if you're talking about homo sapians of course because the human species in general been around for couple of million or so before then) and yet out of all of the time we've been on this earth and for the candidates of one of the best periods in humanities history, you chose this random 10 year period that only happens to exist just because we use a system called Anno Domini which is what gave us the 1990s in the first place. And yet that happened to be the best time in human history?
      Bruh you have other periods of time in humanities history that could be a candidate for the best time in human history. And if anything the era we're living in which is contemporary history (1945-present) is currently the best time in human history right now because there's "less violence and wars" (and what I mean less violence and wars is that although humanity still has a lot of violence and wars still going on right now, compared to other times it's much less), more housing opportunities, better sanitation and medicine, more improved technology which could make everyones lives better, and lastly more access to more food, water, and resources than ever even if we're using a bit too much of it at the moment.
      Now technically in "the best time in human history" you can include decades like the 1980s and the 1990s in it. But then you would have to include more controversial decades like the 2000s and especially the 2010s. Even those decades still have some good stuff in them that can make it worth living through. Now as expected it's not perfect. There's still suffering and violence in the world, there's still high death rates by scauses that are both physical and mental, contemporary history could be the time where we more physically better than ever but our mental heath can be a really big mixed bag, and lastly it could be the worst time in the environments entire history with humanity which there are way too many people that exist right now which are contributing to it's problems than in any time in human history.
      So even still we are not perfect far from it actually. But compared to other times in our 200,000 year history (and several millions of years if you count our ancestors) we have it the best of out all of them. That could also help explain why people can be nostalgic about decades like from the 1950s to the 2010s since they are so culturally different from one another even if it's just in a 10 year period. So of anything from the 1950s onwards, we are living in the best time in human history right now and not just the 90s even if they can be included in there too.
