Bingy, it is not good that the river wash away the garbage. Don't say that. All that garbage is now floating in sea and can become a hazard to marine life. There are birds, fishes, turtles and whales dying of starvation with their stomachs filled with plastic garbage. The best thing to do is not to left any garage close to any water ways, and try to encourage others who use the rivers too about proper waste management. As Jamaicans we need to understand these things and willing to practice better disposal of our garage. I know that you know about these things because I've heard you talked about it before. But try to remember that out of sight doesn't mean problem solved. Try to spread the message to those who are not as smart or not as awear or those who might just don't care.

'Where I grew up, and live; I can say this is the same for all more technologically advanced countries, though Jamaica is getting there, especially because more Jamaicans collectively, are buying into Jamaica being a developed country, where the hearts and minds of Jamaicans collectively are building, and the infrastructure of Jamaica is expanding at a great pace. People who lives in unincorporated urban areas, are people, tend to so to speak, 'living off the grid', etc, farm life living, etc that means these people are able to maintain and provide for themselves, that means roads, electricity and water, having the skills, the 'know how', and expertise, to generate electricity, provide water wells ,rain water catchment, storage, and transportation for themselves. Traditionally rural peoples provides dwellings/homes and localized infrastructure, and other amenities for themselves, however today's Jamaican people have this twisted, it is one's choice to live in the hills and mountains where these amenities can't be provided for easily. If one do not want to provide these amenities for themselves, then they will have to live by the rules of corporate society, which also means living in government approved, standardized, and build areas, which includes paying the taxes for these amenities, and playing by the rules. Actually the Maroons moved to the hills and mountains, because they wanted to provide for themselves, and this is why many of such communities exist in rural Jamaica today, however contemporary Jamaican forgot how to be self sufficient, and wanting to be independent at the same time, not knowing independence comes at a cost. I have learned and come to understand that each parish in Jamaica, are incorporated, and in this case the parish municipal council are responsible for the local roads; however I do not know how the taxes are divided up for each parish, so it is up to the local council and mayor to pressure the national government to get these roads fixed and maintained. To add also, I can see that Jamaica have a shortage of local expertise and professionals, in many areas.
