It describes what hate is to what it does to a person and how it affects others. I couldn't have said it better or even find a song that can put out what hate is perfectly. This episode is so great. I still love watching it while getting chills throughout the whole episode.

This episode was all about forgiving each other even if it was the hardest thing to do. This refers to real life, sometimes u have to pray, and hope that u can forgive each other.
Forgiveness is weakness. Justice and atonement must come first. Forgiveness is not entitlement.

@@travelingjohn69 I feel sorry for u if u can't forgive without retribution. Which seems to be what u want. I don't believe everything can be forgiven and that much can be learned when those who seek it can't have it but to forgo it outright for endless retribution brings a life full of the need for it. It's not a life I envy.

Gabrielle's refusal to listen to Xena about Hope and the death of Solan caused the rift between them. Sorry is the hardest word to say. I know Gabrielle is truly sorry for what Hope did to Solan and she did not accept the truth that Hope is evil. It takes guts and courage to forgive someone.
Yes, I love Gabrielle but between Xena and her, she was the one to blame. Xena didn't force her to come after Caesar and while I can understand that Gabrielle's maternal instict kicked in and that she was the type who wanted to give everyone a chance but she ignored every sign that Hope is inherently evil.
Gabrielle wasn't the only one at fault. Xena truly lacked empathy and tact when it came to how she handled Hope. She was really quick to want to kill a toddler in front of her mother, but a few seasons later couldn't kill her own daughter who'd become a ruthless murderer and seemed as hopeless as, well, Hope. Gabrielle's reaction was maternal instinct, emphasized by her own tendency to see the good even in bad people, and by her mental anguish after killing someone for the first time. Back then, her child was truly her, well, hope, and Xena didn't perceive or respect that at all. She never truly even talked with Gabrielle about Hope, even after she thought Gabrille had killed her own child (even if Gabrielle had lied).
This episode. This song taught me so much as a child. So much that I didnt really understand until I was older. There is strength in hatred, but it corrupts. Like a poisoned chalice.
Lucy should have got an Emmy, just for being able to sing while being crucified. Afterall, it's not even easy to breath when you are crucified.

Xena cares more for Gabrielle. like she cares for her horse and his two children. and her mother.
This episode was way after the bitter suite. There's still something Gabby feels guilty about so she goes to a temple to find out what it is and if she should forget her entire life, clean slate it or live with it. Ares is the part of her mind that doesn't want her to acknowledge it.
Yup and if she clean slated it, all her memories with Xena would be wiped so better to live with it. And yeah Ares always trying to work his magic to get Xena back to the dark side. What better way than to get to her human moral compass, Gabby

The clip is from the musical episode, bittersuite, but this scene is from the episode where Gabby goes to a temple to find out what's wrong with her. When she finds out what it is that's making her feel guilty she has to decide to live with it or forget her entire life.

it's another singer singing for Renee.
I don't like everything about the musical episode. But 3:45 to 4:03 is the best part. I couldn't tell if it's Xena or Gabrielle sang the last part of that song, but the last verse is so good I could repeat it over and over again unless in later days you'll might find it annoying. Also Xena and Gabrielle's song reminded me of the "Will I" number from the musical, "Rent" for some obvious reasons. And it's also driving me fucking mad!!
