What is he talking about? Is he just saying don't let the ball get to the basket before the defender?
I think it's saying for a defender don't get caught behind. A lot of the times, like against the warriors for instance, a pass usually leads to a relocation or a hand-off for a shooter. So it's saying when the pass is made, don't get caught behind, stay at the level so if the ball comes back to your man you're still there to contest. Basically just off ball defense
This is okay for a forty-year-old but not a young person because the rules has change 😂
