Here's a collection of clips from Phil Glenister's appearance in a 1991 of Ruth Rendell Mysteries known as "Murder Being Once Done." I think these are all of his scenes.
I wonder if, after he got to heaven, his attempts at gaining his “middle aged man form” initially failed at first. Considering he was in his early 20’s (they say he was 19, but who knows? Maybe he could’ve been older), maybe this was how he looked.
It's so weird to see him this young, almost like he's missing something from his face. :p But he's got those amazing abilities, expressions and look already. Brilliant actor!
Ha, I know exactly what you mean. Like, if his face were a drawing, a teacher would say that it's overdrawn, or something. His eyes (and brows) are so intense, it's like the balance is off. Beautiful, though. Absolutely beautiful. He's got no lines, basically, and yet the camera is hyperfocused on his eyes and those long fingers...nice to see they understood those charms from the start! 😏
Ooh, I do have more attraction to the slightly bigger Gene Genie than this! But I've got to admit that Gleni wasn't bad was he? :) 2:27 = Hawt! His eyes are just beautiful!! :*)
Yeah a bit of age suits Philip but he did already have those BEAUUUTIFUL eyes even as a skinny young guy, didn't he. Which always helps him do those silences he does so well, including here. Thanks for posting! I haven't seen this ep of Wexford so I bow down to you in awe and gratitude! Philip is my fave! BTW that guy in the car with Wexford also plays a nutter on the Sweeney.
@LadyBolls10 LadyBolls, if you think Phil's a 'skinny lanky bugger' in this, you should see him in 'Roger, Roger' - all arms and legs and floppy hair - in the early episodes especially! His workmates called him 'Boneo'! :). Very sweet character. Ep 1 is on RUclips.
Whoa! It's young Gene Hunt as he might've looked in the early 1950s.....before his.....well...... 'Coronation Day' incident.

SO weird seeing him on the other side of the table in the interview room.

Gene Hunt would have beaten the shit out of his younger self
Sat next to Phil at school

i've just been using my imagination and pretending this is part of a new spin off show; *Gene Hunt: Rogue*

''Rebel Rebel'', TV series all about Gene Hunt's youth prior to becoming a copper 😉
His hairstyle has always been the same.

OMG He’s gorgeous!! Yum yum
Phil don't need to talk much, to act well eh? Like all the best actors. It's all in his face, his expression, his look.

I...finally landed on Planet Glenister - great !!!

Also spotted Roger Allam, who appears in an episode of Ashes To Ashes with Philip Glenister.
Oh man, he is so good at playing just about anyone- this guy, Gene Hunt, Quinn in Mad Dogs... amazing :D
