Reflection is a timeless masterpiece. As in truly timeless. It could be played a thousand years ago or in a thousand years and it will retain its sonic vitality and power. Absolutely phenomenal soundscape with a primally powerful and meditative message. Maynard does use reverse reverb throughout this song which gave it that effect you were talking about. In my minds eye, D-R-T is a the journey of drifting up from your body through the atmosphere with Disposition, into the solar system and then deep space with Reflection, and then approaching a black whole, passing thru its event horizon and reaching the singularity with Triad. That journey can also be flipped and instead of traveling outwards, you travel inwards through yourself, arriving eventually, at the singularity of your consciousness.

“Spiral Out Keep Going”

Yes, the Holy Trinity! Disposition, Reflection, Triad. Starts off mellow and hypnotic and builds up thru Reflection and then peaks with Triad! Such a masterpiece! It always gives me goosebumps. Love cranking this up in my car for my long commute. Tool just always takes me to another place. You definitely need to check out the live drum cam version of Triad to see Danny in action. He is just amazing to watch! There's an AI enhanced version for a bit better quality. Really enjoyed your reaction. Well done!
TOoL “H” ,vicarious and stinkfist are amazing,,, chronological order is the way to listen and always headphones 🎧 and lyrics if possible great reactions keep spiraling 🌀
Welcome to the TOOL army, brother
(Reflection)…You make a good point about the lyrics sounding backwards. Could that be the reason why the song is called “Reflection “?? The idea of seeing your “reflection” is your own image but backwards? Just a thought…Or is that an over reaction on my part? Nonetheless it’s Tool! They’re way smarter than me and I wouldn’t be surprised. Always keeping us on our toes. Great read and reaction on your part.
That is NOT an over reaction. I don't think it's actually possible to read into a Tool song too deeply. That insight is amazing; the lyrics being sung backwards but being played forwards as a reflection. I did not think of that... It wouldn't surprise me if that was their intention-- they are extremely creative.
Thank you for watching and commenting! Your support is much appreciated, Alex.
Tool doing Tool things ... is pure magic. I often say "It's not fair!" when listening to Tool, not fair to other bands, other music. I can honestly say Tool has ruined almost all other music for me. Along with guiding me through life, of course. They are all so supremely talented it's a gift to be alive during the same time span as them. Great reaction. Keep 'em comin'!
Right?! It's an honor to be alive at the same time as them. And one of the things I love the most, specifically about Danny Carey, is his humility. The dude has insane talent AND has a heart of gold-- not something you find too often with talented musicians, some of them are real jerks, unfortunately.
Trust me, the vids will keep coming XD
Well, all of that is just....TRUE!!
Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned.
Its my personal favorite. The Journey that these two songs take us on is a absolutely mind blowing. The first reaction vid I've seen from you the Holy Trinity. What an incredible, thoughtful reaction. Please head down the Tool rabbit hole and keep the vids coming. Audio only please.
One of my favorites from Tool, much love 🤘🌀
Great reactions to these songs! Stay on the Tool journey... 🌀
Ah, yes. The Holy Trinity.
A classic
Yes it's fear! I love them
There is a drum cover of the last song (Triad)
On RUclips.
...long red-haired guy. I've watched it many times.
There's also an actual drum cam video of Danny Carey playing Triad.
yes, I've watched that several times, and all of the (Johnkew) drum covers
Supposed to be all in one shot to be fully enjoyed.
I would highly suggest if you want to hear Danny Carey's best drumming, listen to the live version of Triad, with the drum cam.
I believe the reversed part you're hearing is a reverse delay that's added to maynards vocals. it basically sounds like a fade in before each line, but with a weird little reverse twist.
I got to recommend Descending and Invincible next! I think what makes the best Tool songs special is is the overall arrangement and composition of their pieces. Each member is a virtuoso of their instrument in their own right, and each of their parts are pieces of art in and of themselves, yes somehow the higher level orchestration and flow of the piece manages to still elevate them further to something greater than the sum of their parts. They understand what the music is doing to you psychologically, and they play with that in the most masterful way I've heard.
Great TOoL reactions 🤘😎sub’d
Figuring out whether it's bass or guitar is my favorite Tool game. Adam and Justin don't follow the rules!
Ok, have a listen to this reversed version of Reflection. It really does sound like a more natural vocal this way;

Next time you choose to listen on your own, do so uninterrupted so you get the transitions between the 3 songs, it's a great part of the composition.
Hey man don't worry we all are getting any explanation you are trying to articulate. We are all doing the same all the time.
You want to see how hard it is to play Triad by Danny? watch this video of Danny play it ruclips.net/video/_mT-HhDgav4/видео.html
Yes! Definitely check it out! Would love to see your reaction to seeing Danny in action.
I say you can really put all the songs on shuffle mode and never skip a single one of them. Although, that's the bike travel version of a tracklist..., it's always better to listen the albums as a whole piece. These three songs are way dawn already in the rabbit hole, I may say. Maybe, you can try 46 and 2, Schism or Rigth in Two (not saying those are easy ones at all, though) to see why they are so recognized within the wide spectrum of listeners. Just a suggestion anyway. Great reaction by the way!
I am going to do a reaction to each one of those suggestions! Thanks for watching the video and leaving a comment dude! And I agree, it's important to listen to an album straight through because with bands like Tool, the album is telling a story. And if you listen to the songs out of order, you don't get the full story. It would just be so difficult for me to react to a whole album, the video would be so long... I honestly wish I could!
