- A fast paced video I made for the two lovely people who commissioned these rings. I wanted to share with them the whole process of sand casting their rings. I was using 24ct gold they supplied I alloyed it to 22ct and cast in place rough sapphires and rough diamonds.
The music is by my partner Anthony Ryan, his original song Ode to the TV

Amazing! Looks beautiful
And such a great soundtrack! 💙
So very cool!
Thank you :)
Love this! & yeah great track. Can you show how you prepare & carve the wax?
Thank you very much. And what a great suggestion for a video! I will have to make one about wax carving :)
I have a bit of scrap to play with, but I’m still too chicken to try to work in gold. 😑😬
You should give it a go. You can always melt it down again :)
Would this way only be good for bands tho ?
What about a curb ring
Does there need to be space behind the stone for metal to flow, or is the stone typically open at the back?
Usually I like there to be metal underneath the stones, but you can have the metal going all around the outside of the stone instead of underneath. All rough sapphires are different and require different amounts of metal to hold them securely :)
What powder you give on top?
My ring never forms whole, could you explain what i did wrong?
Your gold may not be hot enough
Hey where can I get the stuff you used at can I please get the list of what they are I'm really interested in trying it please
Great to hear you are inspired to sand cast! I have a video all about the tools and basic set up you need to cast at home :) Hopefully its helpful.
Thanks for posting this video series. I'm curious to know what the material in the red tube is that you are applying to the gemstones before setting them.
Thank you :) The stuff in the red tube is paw paw ointment, I use it to lightly adhere the stones in position. A gentle persuasion not to move ;)
