On Whatnot they auction off over 250 of them and then opened them. Even the red core was only worth what the original price $229. These people were paying $400 for the box. I recommend just go to a coin dealer and buy the coin you want. The second heaviest gold nugget had a buy back of $255, and it was a red core. After watching the auction I would only buy it to resell it
Totally makes sense! I saw that Red Core gold nugget too. The BuyBack offer was insultingly low but I think that could be expected. I would assume that in almost every scenario one will find a better transaction price by going anywhere but that BuyBack window. Not gonna lie I probably would be ok with pulling that Red Core golden nugget. Then again, just go buy the dang nugget you want :D
"nobody ever wins those, but as long as you don't scratch it, you're not a loser" -Dee Reynolds in "Hero or Hate Crime?" in regards to why she never scratched the ticket even after 2 weeks having bought the lotto scratcher
😅 you're not wrong. Sounding like Harold "Pooch" Shuey who was production manager over assembly when I was building microphones for Electro-Voice/Telex: "Less talking more working" he'd say and while he was serious he was also a super great boss and an easy going fella. Bless up 🙏 @pokelifelessons3702 I have a penny roll hunt coming out today as well as another fun something special.
For most it will be a financial loss unless somehow these slabs become sought after which I'm not sure why they would any more than another. I see a dozen more companies doing similar soon.
You all should "anyone that bought these" crack them out of the holder and donate the coin to a nonprofit. Deduct the cost of purchase from your taxes and don't buy them anymore. Obvious scam. Thanks
Interesting, would you be able to claim the cost basis on the Vaultbox 3 or would it have to be the fair value of the coin donated? It makes sense that the cost basis of the coin would be what one paid but I honestly don't know if that is considered acceptable or would be seen as shenanigans? What screams as scam to me is the guy who ripped the top item is the same guy that's doing a bunch of marketing, how convenient.

@@lincolnmicrophonellc I probably would like getting a gold nugget also since I don't have any but always wanted one.🤣
Regional coin shows " Long Beach" and what not have a good variety at reasonable prices and at least you know what you are buying.
Well done!!! I tried and tried...sucks to suck!
Another way to look at it is you didn't join #blackslabbagholder fanclub 😊
@@lincolnmicrophonellc 🤣
