    0:32 for anyone wondering, when you shift the 2nd note of the 5th chord of the minor scale up a half step, it changes it from a min7 chord to a dominant7 chord. that gives it that pull back to the 1 chord. this is super useful and happens everywhere in music.
    you can also do this with most other chords in the scale, just pick a note, build a 5th up from it and make a dominant7 chord there, and go to that note afterwards. also add the 2nd chord of the scale before the 5th if you want to make it jazzy. (aka 2-5-1. happens all the time)

    one of the main things monte does with drums is just turn of the grid snapping so even when he clicks it in it's not perfect

    • @3jesus3christ3
      @3jesus3christ3 5 месяцев назад

      "one of the main things a drummer does is play the drums"...ok your point is...? i get the vibe that internet producers forget that instruments exist. manual drumming/nonquantization/swing isn't a "technique" or a "production style" .... It's pretty sad that people praise eachother for swinging their drums; and it's sad people need to watch or make a tutorial about swinging their drums. that's just how it should/could be done

    Monte booker lays his drums as audio

    • @nardowardo
      @nardowardo 6 месяцев назад +1

      Its just a preference thing, anything on the playlist in fl is affected by the master mix. So there’s no difference in placing your drums in the playlist or loading them into the channel rack and placing them in the piano roll
