Heuristic play is an enriching type of play where babies interact with a range of everyday objects. This provides children with a wide range of sensory stimulation and helps them to discover and learn independently. These resources are displayed at the children level and encourage children to use combination of senses such as sight, taste and touch to explore these objects.

Each week at Orchidale is filled with curiosity, exploration, awe and wonder. Our children access a huge variety of enhanced provision such as yoga, woodwork and cooking experiences alongside unique activities and opportunities set up by our talented staff. We have an expansive offsite woodland club led by our qualified Forest School Leader which enables children to develop their relationship with the natural world and grow in confidence and independence.
