    I recommend placing marks on your screws using paint pens. Yeah, the (paint) marks will show, but more importantly, if your screws start backing out, you'll know right away.

    Excellent video sir, thank you. So.., the long slide will work will a regular full frame VP9 Tactical..?

    Great video, but I have to say, that the choices for mounting sights are pure crap. Plates are too thick, looks like some back yard stuff. But oh well that’s all we have. Unfortunately at my age being farsighted, I can’t use iron sights anymore. Hopefully better options come in the future.

      Yes this is a good point. It seems to be getting better with the new designs or redesigns now incorporating the Dots. But still a bit "screwy" until they can for example add pic rails on pistol frames

    So upset that I didn't notice that it didn't have the optics plate but the site advertised the optics. Now I'm stuck with it because I refuse to pay another $500 for a new slide. 😂😭

    I just ordered some xs suppressor sights for my optic ready vp9 but the front sight post just slides right through. Did I get the wrong ones or they out of spec? Sorry man just wondering if u had problems with them. Damn unless my slides is out of spec.

    • @shaunstayfree5551
      @shaunstayfree5551  2 года назад +1

      I didn’t have this problem and haven’t heard from others who have. But yes, the width of the front sight is incorrect. Your slide wouldn’t be out of spec, although I’ve owned two OR vp9 slides and they had different front sights, but that doesn’t mean the width of the front sight was different and I didn’t check. Contact xs or whoever sold the sights to you, they may want you measure that width to get you a replacement. Sucky problem, but as with most things HK, it does require a little bit more legwork to get it right, but when it’s finally right it’s so good.

    Which optic plate would I buy from HK parts for an RMR type 2? Does it have to be German because of the slide?

    • @shaunstayfree5551
      @shaunstayfree5551  3 года назад

      You need plate #2. It doesn't have to be german, I used EGW american, but at that time I bought the EGM plate the HK oem was sold out. I did see the HK oem is in stock hkparts.net at this time but they do sell out

    EGW -made optics plate is made of Aluminum while the screws are steel. I worry about the threads stripping. Original HK-made optics plate is steel.

      HK also has an aluminum plate they make. My guess it’s lighter than the steel as to why they make it. You have a legitimate concern but not a problem if the screws are torqued to spec and not over torqued.

    Can i get a discount code for hkparts?

    • @shaunstayfree5551
      @shaunstayfree5551  3 года назад

      I don’t have an Hkparts code; the code I used for hkUSA from
      JD Williams. I can’t find it now, he’s a pro shooter with hk he might have a code on his IG jd_hkshooter

    what is the part number for long slide with lighting cuts and suppressor height sights ? your link does not show front lightening cuts

    • @shaunstayfree5551
      @shaunstayfree5551  3 года назад

      Currently out of stock, but at the HK USA parts store it is: SKU#51001081 us.hkwebshop.com/hkstorefront/hk/en/Handgun-Parts/Handgun-Accessories/VP9-Optics-ready-long-slide-kit/p/51001081

      The lightening cuts are the see through (white) portions on that picture from the HkWebshop through my link. I am not aware of any HK factory long slide version without the lightening cuts. You may have seen a regular slide length version that did not include the lightening cuts. But to my knowledge, all vp9 long slides from HK have lightening cuts.

    I recently purchased a similar setup. I noticed you didn't use the Trijicon AC32064 sealing plate between the mounting plate and RMR. Have you noticed any issues with moisture or anything because of this? The parts I've ordered haven't come in yet and I was just curious. Thanks.

    • @shaunstayfree5551
      @shaunstayfree5551  Год назад

      I either didn't know about it, or decided I didnot need it. It seems like a good idea to use or buy to have the option to use, if it will mate with the screw depth. It adds waterproofing they say. I have had no moisture issues I have found on mine running without it. But I have not exposed it to any significant moisture either.

    Gun price $700. New optic ready slide price $500. Optic and accessories $500. Wow. Now you have a $1700 gun that’s worth at the most $800 now

    • @shaunstayfree5551
      @shaunstayfree5551  2 года назад +1

      Yes, for many of us who bought vp9s before the long slide was available or OR slide was available the options aren’t that great

    • @bifurcated
      @bifurcated Год назад

      don't include the optics cost in the gradual build but not in the would-be packaged price --it's disingenuous. no vp9 with a multi-sight milling and an RMR attached is worth $800, much less one with a match grade barrel. Never mind you have the whole other slide assembly if you'd prefer to run both setups on the same platform, one concealed and one for competition. I'm also struggling to remember what it was, but there was something preferable about the long slide via the kit, feature-wise.

    • @bifurcated
      @bifurcated Год назад

      the package vp9l also runs at $1000, without the sight, mount, or sealing plate. so brand new the gun you called $800 is comfortably $1500, except you do not get a whole alternative slide loadout.
