  • The ongoing saga between SpaceX and the FAA takes a new turn as the Federal Aviation Administration has recently postponed public hearings on the environmental review crucial for SpaceX's ambitious plans. This review is essential for SpaceX’s goal of ramping up Starship launches from its South Texas facility.
Adding to the uncertainty, the FAA recently canceled a series of public meetings intended to discuss SpaceX's proposal to increase Starship launches to up to 25 per year. This decision has further complicated the timeline for Flight 5, creating new challenges for SpaceX’s ambitious schedule.

Another delay for the SpaceX launch, what do you all think is going on? Do you have any guesses on how SpaceX might overcome this? Let’s talk about it!

*HI... This is the FAA (Friendly Aviation Association). We're here to help you!!*
I liked a once tossed idea of using / re-engineering old drill rigs. Miles out in the sea they pose a threat to nobody. It's already a seabed full of NASA's trash for decades.

Without the FAA the collective space cowboys would be dumping 1st stages and ancillary bits and bobs on their neighbours with impunity, just like the Chinese.
Elon may be a visionary, but lets face it, he isn't always right. Flight 1 was a total disaster every way you look at it from a FAA point of view. Chucking lumps of concrete a few miles isn't very clever, not understanding how bad it would be is worse. Space X got it very badly wrong, and have behaved like children repeatedly before with the FAA. They have even launched when told specifically not to, just really stupid childish stuff, which has cost Space X dear in trust, time, money and extra oversight.
Elon has bought and paid for every minute the FAA delays him, and its all his own fault. The request for extra launches comes across as a bait and switch at this point, having undertaken to launch no more than half a dozen times a year. Boca Chica wasn't a good choice as a base from the get go, just cheap land and a lot of naïve politicians. If it wasn't for Shotwell there wouldn't be a Starship program, she's a very good fence mender.

Get the pentagon to fund a point to point contract and they will boot the FAA in tthe ass!

Like the FAA give two hoots what the military think. What are you smoking?
Point to point? The daftest idea possible, really beyond belief stupid. The guy who requests funding to study that one should be taken around the back and given a stiff talking to. Go investigate the US militaries love affair with the new generation airships, heaven knows how many years and millions to assess them, and what did they conclude? Well, the same thing any gang of teenage boys with rifles knew on day one. Boy, we can't miss that, fire at will!

No ... Nothing to do with it. Like anyone cares what Trump lies about today.
Elon has repeatedly and consistently rubbed the FAA up the wrong way. He seems to do it on purpose. He's launched without an FAA inspector present, after being told specifically to stand down. Only time in US history that's happened. His, and worse still, Space X's assessment of the potential dangers around the 1st Flight were, shall we say less than adequate? Chunks of concrete battering the site for miles around was such a good look, they even managed to cover every car on South Padre Island in sand, brilliant eh? Personally, I'm rather surprised they didn't jail him and throw the key away, given the US Government is being all swampy, vindictive and all that other stuff to do with Pizzas or whatever.
Why on earth do you think anything Trump and Elon says could get the FAA off its arse to actually do something that quick? Even if they cared, which they don't. They just want Elon to stop with the BS and act like a grown up. Its not a lot to ask, frankly.

@@spacecraze5513 Okay thanks for responding. I'm glad you had fun mocking me. For me, and many others, we see a much much bigger problem with Elon Musk looming. Myself and others are trying to suggest people should take a second look at Musk and think hard about where he stands.
